    I wonder how caviar was even discovered. Like who just decided to cut open a fish and try to eat their eggs 🤢. People are so cruel.

    I’ve always wondered how caviar was discovered. Like who cut open a pregnant fish and taught of eating her unfertilized eggs 💀💀

      It's probably discovered by accident like a lot of things are. Turned out the eggs were tasty and a lot of people liked it. One thing led to another and it became an industrialized delicacy.

    A time will come when future generations will find this generation cruel and laugh at our deeds like this generations do when come to know about our history that people was killed in past just to say what's in their mind or there's is no freedom of speech in past.

    I do love Petrossian caviar. To date, it's still the most expensive "snack" I've ever eaten when I ate 7 cans of $ 750.00 priced Petrossian Beluga caviar because my supervisor in those days told me to write all the same shipment of caviar off and dump it down the disposal because 1 can turned out bad. So, I opened a can, tasted it, ate it all, and did that for the next 6 cans. That's a $ 5,250.00 snack I had 40 years ago. Now, being an old fart, I don't think I can do that anymore but hey, not saying no to it should it ever occur again.

    It's too bad that the sturgeon has to be killed in order to remove the eggs. Isn't there any other way to get the eggs, that preserves the life of the fish?

    • @mattd1142
      @mattd1142 Рік тому +11

      I believe there is another way. Similar to how they extract eggs from Koi fish. England I believe has a place that does it that way. Once the eggs are removed the fish is returned

      There is a British company doing this. They take the fish out and quickly put it on its back and squeeze the eggs out. I'm not sure it's the most efficient way of getting the eggs out but the fish gets to live and spawn again. I'm highly skeptical about this stitching up the sturgeon afterwards. The wound is virtually the entire length of its body and I'm confused as to how the wound would heal underwater. Sounds like bullshit to appease people with misgivings about the process.
