Half the time that I try to do lai quickdraw, it just takes my sword back out of the sheath rather than actually attacking. Do you have any tips for doing the attack consistently?
Definitely keep doing this, man. It's a breath of fresh air from all of the OP, one trick pony, immortal builds everywhere else. I'd especially like to see advanced techniques on the Kusarigama.
Honestly.... I know people wanna play their own but why one hit kill a boss and think its bad ass. The moment I played nioh on weapons only and tried to combo it became the best game I've played in a long time
And I don't care what anyone says, as thorough as the tutorial was it's still way deficient for the vast majority of gamers out there. Most of us just flat out can't play this well or discover these mechanics on our own. We shouldn't be expected to. It's half the reason why I respect this show so much. Good job kiddd
Heck, yes it'd be cool to see more of this kind of content. Virtually every "advanced" Nioh video is about the _character's_ ability, not the _player's_ ability. And this is the kind of stuff that benefits even players in NG, not just people deep in NG+ with a stack of inheritables and 170+10s.
I just start the game a few days ago and your videos really help me to improve my gameplay. I'm a swordman's soul and I wish to combine katana with dual sword efficiently. The mobility you show on screen is exactly the kind of style I love to play so thank you very much for all those tips ;)
Been playing for roughly 200 hours and I didn't know half the things in this video! Very cool! Will start trying to learn some of this stuff to level up my gameplay before the DLC comes out.
You’re my hero ! I’m a big fan of Devil May Cry because of this sort of stuff (attack canceling etc...). And I’m just discovering Nioh 2. I was not expecting this kind of stuff there too, but when I saw your gameplay this make me want to invest my time in ! Thanks
just got the game on pc. stumbled upon your videos while looking for the combat/combos mechanics and this by far is the best I've seen! thank you for this great video, it helped me alot!
just am getting into nioh as a series and i have to say this is my favorite souls like, the combat is so deep and sets a high bar for games like Surge and even the actual souls game. I knew there would be crazy combos and players out there doing builds and skills like this. Love the tips! Whos the Odachi mains?!
Fantastic. This is exactly what I was looking for, so I could get past where I am in skill and start moving to that “next level.” The slow motion with full explanation is a step above, really makes things easy to follow. Please continue making these.
good vid, my only problem is that IAI is pronounced ee-eye, not just "eye" (nioh 1 already stated that, but if you want a clear example, you can just check Zoro from One piece doing the Shishi Sonson vs Mr1 for example). Otherwise it's quite a nice tutorial for people who want that extra juiciness nioh's combat can give but they haven't figured out how. This is the kind of stuff that made me play Nioh and Nioh 2 so much all this time
Haha DON'T. You don't understand. Because the worst part is I know how it should be pronounced but it's a force of habit from when I read years ago before I heard it. And Zoro from Once Piece is the exact place where I heard it correctly. I was hoping nobody would notice after I watched the video back post rendering T_T
Yeah, this type of video is great. The thing about the super end game build guides is that most people are not at the super end game and if they are they are less likely to need a video telling them how to create a cool build. They are really cool to watch and I enjoy them, but they are not as useful as something like this which can be applied at any point in the game.
My dude this type of tutorial guide"s PERFECT bro r u kidding me? Do an episode 2 asap please! There's just too many damn mechanics too wrap my head around without SERIOUS help. Just do me a favor if you can big dawg, you talk fast and pack a lot of data into a little time. It's what makes it great but *IF* you decided to back off the gas a teeny tiny hair I wouldn't necessarily hold it against you. Thanks for the help hombre, I need it.
That's the best Nioh video I have ever seen so far. Thank you for such useful contents. I'm actually using an Hatchet/Spear build (Red Demon + Imakomei), but I dont' know how to pair them properly.
Spear is actually perfect with these tips because Spear can evade very similar to Katana in low stance. So you can side evade with spear, or jump over enemies, then immediately transition into Hatchets R1+O attack
Those set-up are crazy, dude. I just finished the game and thinking about starting a new game plus. I definitely need these kinds of techniques. Great video~
Hell yeah xeno! Getting tired of spammers, with one skill. Like you said "great for bosses", I agree. I'm not against it. Everything has a place. I appreciate you posting this. Maybe we'll see a variety of flavor 😉. Respect for broadening horizons. Thank you
I'd love to see more like this. Given how much I'm not good at the game, I'm hoping I can learn something here to help me become more than a one or two technique spammer. I generally enjoy watching your build videos, but lack the skill to use them effectively. I'd also love to see your sword/dual sword build, if you haven't already put it up.
Subbed... I look forward to seeing more of these advanced techniques kinda thing. Really good vid. Just switched my secondary from axe to katana yesterday with an odachi as a primary.
oh I get how the "dodge, walk half a step then double tap" one works consistently, you do the first tap while walking, then you immediately stop walking to cancel the sheathing animation before the second tap/hold to start charging love the guide by the way!
Naruto song remix at the end was sick! Thanks for the vid. Game can definitely fell overwhelming when you start trying to elevate your skill to the higher levels.
I am level 300 and missing only a couple 170s. This guide has been amazing as I try to learn how to master combat (instead of making a one trick pony build). Hopefully this is the first of many guides.
Great vid. I really hope we get a Nioh 3 soon. I haven’t finished Nioh 2 yet I’m on chapter 3 but I love Nioh 1 and 2 now. Some of the best souls like games out there.
Got my Platinum trophy. To be completely honest I don't deserve it, after this sword gameplay. Great content, I feel things are going to get more interesting with the DLC, it would be great to have an advantage prior to tragically dying at the hands of a kappa.
Holy smokes, man, I just bought the game on PC, and I feel so rusty, years after the original Nioh - this is lightyears above my own level atm! Time to git gud XD Thank you for this amazing series. Gonna watch them all and.... hopefully suck a little less afterwards :D
yes we do enjoy this content good vids bro really enjoy your builds. have used many of them and modified them for my own fun. just subbed keep it up looking forward to dlc content.
Xenoswarm: “This isn’t a sword guide specifically” Also xenoswarm: >only talks about sword skills and sword mechanics< Still enjoyed the video though. I didn’t know about canceling Iai sheathing.
Bro iv pretty much mastered my combo by practising on Winds of Ruin. Odachi groundquake to set up final blow then ki pulse switch straight to sign of the cross and then a final blow. Works everytime on humans i can down with groundquake. Im currently running 5 piece bonus from Moonprayer and 4 piece bonus of Masterswordsman. Love it
Agree man. I like moonlit snow but the spam people play it with is not my thing. Same as windstorm i barely use it and actually use water sword. Even tho not as versitile all round it forces me to use stance switch combos to set up an opening for water sword instead of spamming windstorm, oh and its anime as all hell
I think I'm on the wrong video because I'm a scrub who just used combinations of weapons I think are cool rather than efficient, but this was a cool video
Quite late to this video, but it was very educational. It's probably going to take me a bit to learn to integrate any of this into my own playstyle, but it's still good to know! I'm curious if you might do more examples of hybrid weapon setups though, because that's something I'd really like to see/learn more of. How to use weapons *together* rather than each one being situational.
You are a fucking artist man. This is some next level shit. I had like 300hrs in nioh 1 and I cant do any of this shit. This was amazing. If I could like and sub twice, I would.
Should I get the first flux skill right away and start changing stances on ki pulse, or should I get the basics down more first? At then moment I pretty much only have things unlocked relating to high stance, but this is just because it's how it happened TBH. I started out with Odachi and Axe because I usually go for the fastest, dex stuff and wanted to try something different (I wanted to play Kuri or Tonfa's TBH, but I'm going to likely respec into something else later anyway) I unlocked the X/Y combo for both of these weapons, that are to be used in high stance, so I the first ki pulse I unlocked was also in high (then I went for the other immediate high stance ones that are available to be unlocked right away) Other than the beyblade move for the axe, I think this is all I have unlocked so far. I want to get the flux skills, I mean the switching weapon on ki pulse seems to be the optimal form for the game (reminds me of Bayonetta a lot TBH) but right now as I only really have stuff unlocked for high stance, I tend to just stay in high stance as it destroys stuff incredibly fast 9and the deliberate style is definitely something newer to me, even in dark souls I played the great scythe, but I guess that was similar in execution TBH) PS: Tonfa's are best used as a utility weapon, right? so for doing damage to the second meter and then switching to a main damage weapon after? this is who I seem to remember them from the first game, but I played that along time ago now. I definitely remember using them in this sort of capacity though. I'd like to pair with the Kurisigama if it will work for a build, but don't really know enough to make that call yet. I just started with the uchi/axe as it's supposed to be a good combo to start out (as you can put on heavier armour as well with this kind of build, and it gets a decent amount of health, too)
So what do you mean when you say inheriting iai QuickDraw on all your armor? Does sign of the cross also count as QuickDraw damage or something? Sorry I’m a noob lol
I grinded and maxed out on all weapon proficiencies beside dual axe and axe.... and have my charactor built for sword and dual sword, and I didn't know these skills... I feel I am playing a different game.
Have you played any switchglaive? It has an R1+O “quick draw” attack but the startup animation is painfully long so it’s hard to use... gonna try the L2 cancel though, thanks for this great vid!
Discord: discord.gg/GS7C27G
Instead of animation cancelling using ranged weapons, I recommend switching your weapon twice extremely quickly and turn off flash attack.
Half the time that I try to do lai quickdraw, it just takes my sword back out of the sheath rather than actually attacking. Do you have any tips for doing the attack consistently?

Hands down you are one of the most skilled Nioh players i've ever seen.Great vid
Check out xlh gladiator

Anyone else glad Nioh 2 doesn't have PvP? I watch this while I'm in the dojo once or twice a week. Great tutorial man.
Iv just got into nioh 2 and think your content is top notch 👌 subbed
congratulations!beautiful video!
I watched this before and just rewatched it again. Love this and your playstyle.

WOW, I am speechless! You have a won a new sub my dude, amazing stuff!
