Just came across your channel. Been watching videos while I play the game and I gotta say that I love your channel dude! very informative, and your content is entirely worthwhile. Keep it up man--it's awesome to find a channel that goes in depth with this game. Nioh 2 has so much depth it's ridiculous, and the replay value is the best I've ever felt with a game.
Very nice, I watched advanced combat vid 1 when I just started playing to get an idea of hidden mechanics to keep in mind. it didn't all sink in really since I had only been playing for an hour. After a good while and many hours of gameplay I started naturally getting more creative with stuff and started doing similar combos.
That's when I remembered the first video and asked myself what was he talking about again? Watching the 2 videos again opened my eyes even more how creative you can get rather than just timing basic combos. Thanks for the quality content. Subscribed for sure.

back in Nioh 1 i didnt really bother much, i just spammed sign of the cross and windstorm to shred down the bosses. Now with Nioh 2, i also did that. But seeing you play this game i really wanna learn how to play it like that. Need to update my build first and equip the appropriate skills first but this series is a lot of fun. Thanks for showing us all a different way of enjoying this beautiful game!

lmao you make my sword play look super armature and I thought I was starting to actually get a grip on the combat again, currently just finished the 3rd region having not played Nioh 1 since it came out.
Thank you information about ki pulse weapon. I didn't know if a weapon has that perk. You can change weapon secondary on with ki pulse on it.

Just got into Nioh 2. You’re the real samurai.
I'll go ahead and say that double headed slice is much better at proccing status effects when you integrate elemental damage to the skill through skill customization. Only issue being it's harder to land all the hits and no super armor.
I’m still on my first run through and I haven’t used much other than the switchglaive, but i can’t wait to start playing around with some other weapons on new game +
Just beat NG this week using Axe, pretty much high stance heavy attacked my way through the whole thing.. would try new abilities when I would unlock em but would go back to old faithful in a pinch. These videos have changed everything. Switched to duel blades first and am pretty comfortable with them swords next and man there's a lot of sword moves...
First person I have never hear not promote the Shrike on dual swords. Interesting...

After beating the depths with Fists and Splittstaff and Tonfas on another playthrough, I decided to start playing again and use Sword and Dual Swords. I really struggle at times, because these weapon definitely require a different playstyle. With Tonfas I'd just ki break and go ham 24/7. Your videos really helped me understand how to utilize them better. Cheers. :)

Just made a Kurama + Bishamonten purity build, with Sword and Dual Swords.
I'm pretty good with duals but I never used the katana before, I'm really weak with it 😂 by the way I'm using Kurama Tengu + Ho as spirits, which ones do you suggest?

Mind's Eye isn't when you dodge last second; it's when you would have otherwise gotten hit on the tail end of the normal low stance dodge. Basically, you just need to dodge a little early and into the attack animation. The easiest thing that comes to mind is the yell from Ubume. Once it starts, just dodge directly into it.
Otherwise, you'll often want to be dodging in the same direction as swings instead of through them like normal. For example, it's pretty easy to pull off by dodging in the direction of Mezuki's 2-3 horizontal swing combo. The downside is that it has some recovery and can get you hit by a quick followup swing.

@@ScottVeggies I havent heard anything about pvp for this one. From what I gather, it kinda floundered pretty quickly in Nioh 1, so I'm not sure it'll be back. I need to go back to that one, as I tried to play it too much like Souls back then and ended up dropping it. I've got over 1k hours in 2, though, and I play it almost every day. So if you want help with any missions or whatever, hit me up on psn. Same name as here.

Gosh, I play like a kid when compared to you… you play amazingly.
So this might be an odd question, but when you play, do what are you watching? Are you always focusing on the enemy, or are you watching your character? I find myself trying to pull off these combos and get caught watching myself, then get 1 shotted by the enemy. So I usually give up on the light armor sword builds, and switch back to my tanky odachi/Axe bro.
i haven't played nioh 2 yet but a lot of nioh 1 and can you no longer cancel the sheath animation with just walking forward like in nioh 1?
Would this combat style work if I swapped out duel swords for odachi?
Hmmm...so doubleheaded slice is really good status accumulation but poor elemental damage? Sounds like arcana of serpents custom active skill is best applied to double headed slice then.
starting at 10:23 how are you doing these cool spin kicks and shit? i dont see any skills that resemble that in the skill trees.
i'm fairly sure minds eye works on the recovery frames of your dodge. so you actually want to do the opposite of dodging at the last possible frame..you wanna dodge very early so the attack would normally hit you at the end of the dodge if you didnt have minds eye.

How you avoid the hits so fast.. me i just press X once or two times.
But sometimes you move reaally quick side, front or back, don't know how to do that.
I am going to disagree on the usefulness of the timely guard for sword. This is because in nioh 2, in contrast to nioh 1, when knocking down bosses they will stay down on the ground very little time and thus you can only go for a finishing blow, rather than a full punish. I would honestly recommend haze as it does pretty hefty ki damage which will allow you for a good punish later on. Good video though.
This was amazing as always. But something that shocked me is seeing you attack WITH the Atlas Bear spirit? I'm so confused, how do we attack with our spirits directly? Sorry that's off-topic.

I know this is old but I really appreciated the effort and quality of this video, I learned a ton.
Although I was hoping to see Severing Spin included, I haven't really found a useful way of using the ability with any combos and no one seems to have any builds involving it. Is it just bad?

How do you do the is and cross attacks consistently? If I'm not fighting, it goes off every time, but iff I'm fighting 90% of the time my guy just put the weapons away and looks dumb.

What build are you using in this vid?
I just hit level 115, I'm still kinda new so I'm not absorbing all of this yet. But once I get into NG+ I'll definitely be using this guide religiously as Dual Swords main.
I am curious about the mystic arts tho because there isn't any videos on them, I chose momentum and set it in the skill tree. But either I'm dumb or just don't notice it working, is it even noticeable?
The other mystic art is much better when you reach DotD.

Waterswoed is DOPE against yokai and wind storm against humans...when you break a yokai boss ki, confuse and spam wayer sword its gg...but against humans it sucks and need kibroke confused yokai
I'm confused... You say that Swift Step is one of the best abilities in the game but then you also say Heaven Flash is the best. Both of those skills take up the same slot so you can't have both. I'm not really sure which one I should be using.
All those one skill cheese users will get crushed when nioh 2 gets a PvP Mode. Thank you so much for advertising an all around playstyle

Im trying to platinum first Nioh before i start second one, and my main weapon trough out the game was dual swords... And i wanna say... Im SO DISAPPOINTED that there is no Shrike skill(

Only ever used High Stance whilst using sword 🤦🏽♂️ Will definitely give the different stances a go but switching mid stances and doing different moves is way beyond me. Thank you for the video
I really hope they don't balance around PvP. Most Devs suck at this. Makes most gear completely useless in PvE/P. Not every game needs PvP.

To many words for such primitve sometimes unlogic gamec-ombat techiques that are here in this game. For example I prefer Odachi sword for gameplay because it looks more natural with its slowness. But when you are parring with odachi you spend about 25-35% of your stamina and you opponent while he is falling on the ground quickly restore almost full his stamina. So when he is standing up on foot he has 100% stamina and you lucky 60% or less if you try to hit him after parry. Or how works block in this game much worse than roll (same stupid thing as in DS series). It is sad that in this rare game with a lot of weapons there is such weak realized combat system. Sometimes I go to Sekiro world to fight there but it is also not ideal.
Does anyone have the skill sets he have or the layout?
