A legend would be a stretch but he is an innovator, trend-setter, game changer. That hit song of his changed the entire landscape of Hip Hop in 2007. I didn't say it was for the better but he put out something and everyone followed suit.

That trash rap was for kids but he was too inappropriate for the age group he was wrapping to but I can respect his Hustle and him getting into the game but the music was whack as fuck no talent just like most of these rappers today just sound like they’re free Stallon off the top of her head and is so trash because half of his music I could come with us free Stallon and wrapping with the Homies I don’t respect no rap artist that cannot produce any music I can’t do

After the MJ tribute at BET, some of the media gave him a break while others called bullshit. SOULJA BOY don't got lyrical content and creativity. He's not going to be able to create album after album worth listening to top to bottom. Plus his body of work didn't age well. It's not one song of his I'll bump in 2020 and most hip hop fans feel the same way. The good thing is I heard he invested his money well into things like weed dispensary and dish soap. So he'll be able to maintain that expensive lifestyle. I hope he lay off the substance abuse though he look coked out.

Soulja Boy came at a very unique time for dance/club bangers. There’s no mistaking that he had the hottest song and dance around. I was 22 when that song came out. Music was definitely changing in those years, as most of us were in college. We were the same kids that were part of the bubble gum pop scene of late 90s and early 2000s. Yet, once we hit college, we’re all trying to change our image a little and become more independent. Enter Soulja Boy. However, what he did best was his ability to tap into the suburban junior high and high school era of kids with cell phones. This was a dance that was pretty easy, which made teenage white kids gravitate to it.
However, any dude in the club when this song came on was definitely cranking.
Soulja Boy and Young Joc had the hottest club dances for there time.

Soulja Boy has never been original for the most part. Even in his beginning days. That's why he keeps changing his style so much. He never found an actual identity. He's basically in the same lane as Lil B but at least Lil B had his own ideas.

The BEST thing about being him….is he can take a break for 3 years…..come back, and be a whole new nigga and people gon give him a shot. If I was him……I’d make an announcement “A!! I’m sick of this shit. I’m taking a break from music for the next 3 years! I’m fucked up. But I’m finna get right. And when I come back……my music gon reflect that.” Then…….just start posting videos eating healthy ( and not liking it at first). Starting a workout journey…..and being weak asf in the beginning. Meditating and falling asleep n shit. In 3 years none of that would be happening. Create merch the whole way. And his first 3 songs when he come back……need to be on some “Dear Momma” level of honesty. If he did that……just because it’s HIM, he’d not only be free of everything gimmicky…..he’d make a bread factory bread 🍞 🥖 🥯 🏭 . He could ride that wave 🌊 for the next 30 years.
