When I was doing hill climbs and rallies in the late 70’s with a Escort Mexico 1600, one of my fellow competitors had a v8 mk1 Escort. It had a Leyland 4.2 litre p76 all aluminium v8 with a jaguar rear diff. It was really quick with modified engine running twin 4 barrel Holley carbs and racing headers ect. The thing was a beast and had a top speed of about 130 mph. 🚗🚗🚗🚗
She is a beauty. I love it. And, thank you for not driving it like an idiot as most people on youtube seem to do these days. I hope Ford look at this and think...."Oh man, if only".......
A possible inspiration for this Escort MKI V8 could be that the video games Trackmania United (DesertCar) and Ford Racing 3 feature an Escort MKI that carries the sound of a V8 engine.
