    I already did that too.
In Germany, the cables are often in the wall. And our cables are double-insulated with brown, blue and yellow wires.
My brother wanted a two-way circuit, so I misused the yellow-green one.
The wall is a hollow stud wall, i.e. wooden beams with plasterboard on it.
Under the ceiling we sawed circles into the plasterboard with a circular saw at a distance of 1-2 meters.
Then we pulled the cable from the old switch behind the plasterboard to the new switch.
The switch required all three contacts for a changeover.
We put the sawn out circles back in later.
Clamp behind the old switch, done.

What is expected price to pay for this?

I saw the wago conectors a few years ago, now I always use em; you would never use a strip connector ever again,

Nicely lagged copper pipe there 👌

One of my dislikes is not leaving enough slack wiring for when need to replace switches.

I think easier to go for these wireless switches now? What's your thoughts?

Niceic registered sparks and you don't even know the wago box you used is not Maintenance Free ....it was the wago light box you used not the MF BOX......You need to change that or make it accessible......you need to read up a bit on what your using......gid only knows what else you have done wrong in other vids......NICEIC Says it all

I knew that Mark but you're the first person to notice, so well done to you. Sometimes, you just don't have the right part in the van. If you watch other videos you will see me use the correct Wagobox 221-4, however top marks to you for being eagle eyed. I've been waiting for this comment

Why isnt the light box MF?

    • @abcelectric
      @abcelectric  2 роки тому

Because strictly speaking you should use Wago 224 connectors in the Wago Light box for it to be classed as fully MF. The manufacturer's instructions have to be followed to the letter otherwise it isn't strictly "maintenance free". That's what Mark was referring to. I'm not getting into semantics about whether it needed to be MF (i.e. it's still accessible by lifting the carpet and a floorboard just like millions of screw terminal JBs over the last 100 years), but that's another debate for another day

@@abcelectric Wrong again.......as I said in the previous post you really need to read up on products before you use them....The wago light box is not a MF box no matter what connectors you use.....Try going on the wago website to learn a bit about the product before giving all the DIY Daves false information I hope the NICEIC Doesn't see your vids as you could be encouraging people to carry out work that is against current regs and could cause an accident and is now all over the internet

OK Mark, you are the man. I didn't read up about the product because I normally use the Wagobox 221-4 and in one instance I didn't have one and I posted a video on UA-cam. I shall just assume you're Mr. Perfect then and I'll go back to school after I've finished self-flagellating for my terrible sins to the electrical industry. I stand forever corrected, worship your greater knowledge and praise you for policing my content with the greater good of mankind as your arbiter.
