Let's say I buying a sgb from secondary market which was originally issued in the year 2020.
So it will mature around 2028.
If I buy them now which is 2023, it will mature in next 5 years(I.e. 2028). Will I get tax benefit After maturity in 2028?

If I buy one gram of gold with the price of 6000 just imagine. And I hold it for 5 years after 5th year the gold price will be increased to 10000. Will I get interest for 10000 or which I have invested 6000
It is calculated on the initial investment amount and NOT on the current price.

Bro i have one doubt , if i bought ex 2units of gold in the on year 2023 during subscription period , then minimum lock period will be 5yrs so 2028 i can liquidate the bond , right , if i bought another sgb say 4units in the year 2024 then it will liquidate on 2029 only right . So what im trying to say is we can buy sgb when we have some lumpsum amount only right , then only it will be profitable ah

If you held the bond until maturity, then the maturity amount received is exempted from tax - other wise capital gains tax need to be paid.
After 8 years, the bonds mature automatically - if you wish to invest for longer period you could buy new bonds that will be issued by that time.
So eighth year la irukka gold price ku we are forced to sell. But buying a new bond at that time would be a good idea.
