@@Feymorales Hi Fey I just passed my CAPM Exam today ! I got my results and I was on Target. Thank you for all the tips you shared with us and the different methods you used to study for the exam. I only watched the Joseph Phillips course on Udemy and did questions on the Pocket Prep.
Congratulations! I brought the pmkbok guide and the capm book you had mentioned. I'm having trouble retaining the information through just watching the lectures. I really want to pass on my first try!
Just try to go through the course as quick as possible and try to make the connections in your head so when you read the PMBOK it will make more sense. Then make sure you listen to the term definitions two or three times! You can speed up the terms to 1.5x so they go by quicker. Hi Fey. This is incredibly helpful. I don’t get how come new exam reference list does not correspond to pmbok 7? For example, section 3 (predictive, plant based approach) and in pmbok this section 3 is about “tailoring” (or pm principles?)? How did you study?
I am wondering the same thing. I just tried walking through the list and then look it up in the PMBOK and it doesnt match, My thinking is just to focus on the chapters as a whole I guess. So maybe do Chapter 2,3,4...IDK. @feymorales

Hello, Thanks for posting this awesome video. My question is was it hard finding a job after? I’ve seen many in facebook groups, still looking after 3 months. Personally, I’m going after my SCRUM master.
Hey Aurora, I already have a job as a project engineer. I will be an APM in 1.5 years. It is possible! You just need to get your foot in the door first.
Thank you for this video!! 🎉 I haven’t finish it yet, But I have a quick question, which course did you use to cover the 23 hours requiered for the certification, I signed up for the PMI course and it’s about 350$ and just noticed is focused on the 6th edition. I don’t know why they haven’t updated the course to the 7th edition 😢 I don’t want to mix things up😢
I am not sure what your course covered so I cannot speak on whether this course has more information than the one you took, but I found it helpful for me. It is the only course I took. Have you tried looking on Reddit to see if any other users took the course you took?
Hello. Thanks for your response. I’m looking online to see if anyone took the Google PM class along with other resources. I still believe the class you recommended is very valuable. Thank you!
Hi, very useful video, thanks. Two questions: First --> in case of exam's failure on the first attempt (it shouldn't happen!!!!), should I pay again the entire price of the exam? Second --> If I pay the exam today, should I immedetialy booked the exam or can I go back to schedule it in a different moment? (I mean, for instance after I have studied all the required topics)
1. You will PASS so I will not entertain the rest of the question. Believe in yourself and work hard to give yourself no room for failure 💪🏼 2. You can pay for it and schedule later. Once you apply and pay, it goes through a process before they let you know if you’re eligible to take it. I believe you will have 1 year to take it.
Excellent work. This is exactly what was searching for. Thank you so much for providing the ground reality experience. And congratulations!! Just one question for the newly added Business Analysis section I couldn't find much in PMBOK 7th edition. Where to target this section from?
Thank you! I am glad you found it helpful. I just paid attention to the course description of business analysis, but you’re right, the PMBOK does not have much about it. I watched some videos here and there, but I found that understanding the main basis of it, which is to find ways to improve the processes that lead to profitability, helped. Any time you encounter a question that is from the lens of business analysis, keep this definition in mind: Business analysis is used to identify and articulate the need for change in how organizations work, and to facilitate that change (google).
Love this video, it's incredibly helpful and informative! I was studying for the exam last year and recently restarted my studying only to find out the format and study materials was changed. I purchased the Udemy course and now I feel more confident. The PMBOK 6th edition focuses heavily on all 49 processes whereas this course doesn't. Did you memorize all 49 processes with their inputs, outputs, and tools & techniques?
I’m so glad you found it helpful!! 😌 Please let me know once you take the test and PASS! The exam content outline does not specify whether the 49 processes are included and they are not in the PMBOK 7. I studied them for 1-2 hours to get a grasp on them and they helped me understand project management at a better level, but I would not focus on those. I never studied ITTOs.
@@andreagarcia8294 I'm happy to hear that, congratulations)) Could you give me your advice, did you read the PMBOOK 7 or PMBOOK 6? Did you also use Pocket Prep materials?
This video has been a huge help. I am a little confused on the highlighting in the PMBOK, what reference did you use? What did you look at to then go into the book and highlight what to read and study? The Exam Content Outline (ECO), you only used 2 pages, was it the first 2 pages? If so how did you know where to stop?
The exam content outline will tell you which books they base it on, so that’s how you know which sections to highlight in those books. The first two pages happened to be the PMBOK and the standard is part of the 7th edition as well.
@@MrRandyRoc it does match! Make sure you are not looking at the standard when you should be looking at the PMBOK section. The standard pages come before the PMBOK starts in the book. Does that make sense? So at first I was confused on the sections too until I started looking at the PMBOK and not the standard.
@@FeymoralesI think I get it now. Should i take the google project management certification first for more knowledge or i can directly practice for the Capm? 2. What resources you would suggest me to practice for the Capm? 1. You NEED to take a course as part of the requirements, even though the course for me was only the tip of the iceberg for learning. 2. Start with the course to be introduced to the concepts, then move on to the PMBOK and THEN do the practice questions and flashcards while you go back and forth between these and the PMBOK to get clarification on the learning concepts.

Hello and congratulations on your CAPM exam success! I have a question I'd appreciate your input on. I received a recommendation for the PrepCast exam simulator on UA-cam. However, when I tried a few quizzes, I found their questions to be quite confusing. Additionally, their answer choices seem very similar, making it challenging to distinguish between them. I'm unsure whether I should continue using PrepCast. Prior to this, I completed two courses on Udemy, where I scored at least 75% on Pocket Prep and other mock exams. However, ever since I started using PrepCast, I've been feeling quite anxious. I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice you could provide. Thank you.
Just make sure you are reading the explanations to understand the “why” of that answer. The actual test will not have that many similar questions, and I found that they were not meant to be tricky. I cannot speak on any other prep materials other than the ones I used that worked for me.
@FeyMorales I completed the Google Project Management Certification. Does the Joseph Phillips Udemy course teach dungeness or strictly prep for the exam? Just asking as In planning to take it in October and want to use my time wisely.
@@mburks1171 if you already did the certificate, I would not recommend doing another course. Just focus on the exam questions on pocket prep or another question simulator. You got this! I hope you can come back once you have PASSED to let us know how it went!
Hi question, for the udemy course---did you create your own notecards from the course or just listen in as he was going through all the terms? If not, what were your notecards based on?
I started with the definitions that were both in the udemy course AND the PMBOK and then I did the udemy-only definitions. I combined definitions sometimes when say the Udemy or PMBOK definitions were more thorough.
Hi there, please tell me which Udemy course did you use? I heard in the video that you used Joseph Phillips Udemy course, but I see that that one based on PMBOK6 edition. Which one is based on 7 edition? Thank you.
Yes! That helped me a lot to get a good understanding of where I was at. Take out any distractions and set a timer for the equivalent of the actual test. You can take your break in between.
I do think they were! The exam questions were more direct to the point, and pocket prep’s questions are longer and they set the stage at a greater length than the actual exam but the answer choicer are difficult since they include a lot of similar answers. I definitely recommend the app and the book I mentioned. I would say definitely take a look at the answer explanations, but don’t spend too much time retaking the quizzes to get 100%. Move on so you can get other similar questions and that’s how you’ll really be able to test your knowledge. I was scoring 68% before I took the CAPM
congratulations on your success, I am also planning to peruse CAPM exam. I wanted to know if we take it online, we can schedule at any time of our choice on any date??
Hello Fey, I know this may be a weird question but is there anyway you would be willing to sell your note cards and study materials? I’m studying for the exam but I am horrible at note taking and always seem to study the wrong stuff.
Hey! I can sell you my notes, note cards and CAPM Prep book! I do have to keep the PMBOK since I am currently using it in my MBA. Let me know if you are interested! You can contact me at feysamantha@live.com
I am trying to do it now but am I little confused when it says things like "2.2.5" or "2.6" but those aren't actual sections in the book. Am I understanding how to read them wrong?@@Feymorales
@@elssakenfack1778how did you figure this out ? I’m having the same issue . I find that the chapters on the reference guide are not corresponding with the PMBOK 7th, thanks in advance !
Congradulations on passing your exam! I am currently studying for the CAPM and taking the Joseph Phiilip course. I made a deadline to pass my exam by October. How did you study or memorize all that information, is there a way you broke it down to remember all of it or you just kept practicing on pocketprep?
Follow the tips on the video and as soon as you are getting 65+ on pocket prep and the book I mentioned, you should know when you’re ready. The Udemy course is helpful, but the explanations in the pocket prep/book questions will teach you a lot in making actual connections.
I am in the construction industry and have been since October. The CAPM is definitely worth it, but you still need to understand the fundamental terms and concepts of the construction industry to be able be a successful project manager
Yes, I think that will be enough. I believe I only got under 200 questions done out of the 1000 that were available in the pocket prep app. However, I do like having the convenience to get a couple of questions in here and there whenever you have a little bit of time and don’t feel like carrying around a book. The prep book was helpful for me because like I mentioned, you can highlight and circle words and take notes on the margins to look back at. The explanations were lengthy and thorough and easy to understand. I still got the app because I didn’t think it was too expensive and I still think it helped a little bit because the explanations are also thorough, even if I only got to see under 200 questions It’s up to you, depending on how much time you have to prepare and maximize your utility of the resources.

Thank you.
This one: www.udemy.com/course/capm-pmbok6/
should we take a full length mock test?
Yes! That helped me a lot to get a good understanding of where I was at. Take out any distractions and set a timer for the equivalent of the actual test. You can take your break in between.
@Feymorales would you say that the PocketPrep questions are harder than the exam questions? My score average is 72% right now.
Yes, you can! Let me know how it goes!!
So was the exam solely based on the 7th edition and no 6th edition questions?
Correct
Wait a minute seventh Edition of CAPM is coming on 24th July right? How can she pass it now?
That was July of last year
@@Feymorales but the exam pattern has changed this year of July
@@avdheshsharma6346 well my video was made last year; i was just answering your original question.
Do they let you have a blank paper for scratch work ?
Hello Fey, I know this may be a weird question but is there anyway you would be willing to sell your note cards and study materials? I’m studying for the exam but I am horrible at note taking and always seem to study the wrong stuff.
Hey! I can sell you my notes, note cards and CAPM Prep book! I do have to keep the PMBOK since I am currently using it in my MBA. Let me know if you are interested! You can contact me at feysamantha@live.com
Where did you find the reference guide on the website?
Just found it
Hi, how did you know what pages to mark for the colored coded domains in the PMBOK?
The sections are in the Exam content outline :) so I just tabbed the sections since the ECO has sections but not page #s
I am trying to do it now but am I little confused when it says things like "2.2.5" or "2.6" but those aren't actual sections in the book. Am I understanding how to read them wrong?@@Feymorales
Never mind i figured it out~ thanks so much!
@@elssakenfack1778 no problem! 😌
@@elssakenfack1778how did you figure this out ? I’m having the same issue . I find that the chapters on the reference guide are not corresponding with the PMBOK 7th, thanks in advance !
What did you get your degree in? If you don’t mind me asking
Good evening. My undergrad was in business administration and my MBA specialization is Project Management.
Do we need to prepare from PMBOK 6 or 7 ?Which book is better to follow? I already started the 6
7th
Who is the author of the orange prep book at 8:20 ?
Hello! It’s no longer available, which is unfortunate. Sorry!
Did you get that diploma in the mail?
No
Could you please share the code that gets you discount for the exam registration
It’s in the description! 😊 I hope it works for you!
Hello all ppl, what are the opportunities in construction industry after capm certification? Is capm worth it?
I am in the construction industry and have been since October. The CAPM is definitely worth it, but you still need to understand the fundamental terms and concepts of the construction industry to be able be a successful project manager
if we read the pmbok 7th edition and joseph course and the capm practise book you showed in video is that enough ??
Yes, I think that will be enough. I believe I only got under 200 questions done out of the 1000 that were available in the pocket prep app.
However, I do like having the convenience to get a couple of questions in here and there whenever you have a little bit of time and don’t feel like carrying around a book.
The prep book was helpful for me because like I mentioned, you can highlight and circle words and take notes on the margins to look back at. The explanations were lengthy and thorough and easy to understand.
I still got the app because I didn’t think it was too expensive and I still think it helped a little bit because the explanations are also thorough, even if I only got to see under 200 questions
It’s up to you, depending on how much time you have to prepare and maximize your utility of the resources.
@@Feymorales the joseph phillip couse still says 6th edition, I am not sure if they have updated the material as per 7th edition yet. Can you link the course you referred to. Would really be helpful. Thanks.

If I only study Pmbok is that engh to pass?
I would do a little bit of question practice along with reading the PMBOK. I would not recommend only reading the PMBOK.
@@Feymorales so I did some pratice on questions and covered all Domain concepts is good ,sorry for insistance😂 because of conditions has no more engh time, money etc.
How many hours of preparation did it take in total
I would say about 70-75 hours total. Not more than that. I did about 2 hrs per day on the weekdays, typically took a break on Saturdays, and went hard on Sundays studying for 5-6 hrs.
@@Feymorales I'm currently not working... If I study 5 hours per day is it possible to crack the exam in 2 weeks
Yes!! You can do it!! Let me know how that goes. Make sure you follow all the tips to stay committed and motivated!
Hello Fey, so does the 70-75 hours you mentioned include those 23 hours of Project Management Education prerequisite for applying the CAPM exam? Btw thanks for the detailed video!@@Feymorales
@@leetaiming64 yes, it does! :)

How has job hunting been
Hi there! I am working as a PE at my company’s rotation program and will be an APM after I complete this 2-year program. I had this lined up before I took the CAPM, though.
This video was SUPER helpful for me! Thank you very much! I also found a video that made it so much easier to memorize the formulas. ua-cam.com/video/6ZP4DfnS0KA/v-deo.html
