Man this is useful! Always coming with the knowledge! I have not charged anyone because I wasn’t sure how to go about doing this. Plus I have a 20 video max limit before I start charging because I wanted to get the experience down. The further I got into the editing / the more money I spent for effects. Then I started looking at the cost of travel, paying monthly for the program to edit, paying for places to go, food, what equipment I will need for different shots, do I need to rent a lens, camera, etc... on average, each video I have made has been around $200. Lately I been spending more. But thank you for this video! This helps to really clarify a lot! Imma start doing deposits too.
Bet bet . I know since I been team crackalack my skills have gotten better my editing is getting better and my conference is up . Thanks for writing this . I'm so glade that others are getting the same vibe . To the top king's
In the beginning you're lucky to get paid. Whatever floats your boat at that time. It's gotta make sense to you. That is the key factor to pricing. I've done free videos. Those were learning processes also had some sort of exposure attached. I've also been paid thousands for videos. I'd suggest today asking the customer what their budget is so you're not selling yourself short either.
CrackaLackTV great stuff bro! Keep up the great work. I will check out later the rest of your material. We are also struggling between vloging/ cinamatic Videos and so on. Would appreciate any kind of feedback from you :)
To each there own, but that pricing might not work for some. It's a business, and businesses make money. Some charge less and go out of business, while others raise their prices. Depends what works for you and please never work for exposure unless it brings Value and you won't resent it after all the hard work! Nice video!
I mean that's possible but it's never happened. I'd maybe write up a understanding stating something about how many edits they have and each additional edit or change equals a fee.
Yo crack you should do a video live example of actually talking to a real client on the phone and showing us hands on. Its a great video idea for your channel. Its not one video on youtube of someone actually pricing a client because I have been searching. Thank me later
I do it completely different but for beginners or anything under 1k I'd recommend half down, half at the shoot. NEVER do anything based on when it's complete.
GREAT VIDEO! Bro i need a question answered... say u shoot a video for someone... if they arent paying, who posts it to social media? I shot a video for a friend and didnt charge, but i feel like im gonna get little to no attention. If i posted the video, it gets plays, and i get attention to my channel/movement. Uk? Thanks
I post all my work to my social media. The artist also posts to their social media. Usually the actual music video only goes on 1 person channel. So that should be discussed upfront. Hey I'm doing it for free so it's going on my channel. If you want it only on yours then pay me.
Thanks bro good info! Im def just starting even though $100/hr is trash but at least you gettin paid and lets says they dont like the vid at least they cant say i paid you this much just to look trash lol
As a beginner, your finished product isn't going to be worth $2,500. By all means, get as much as you can get. However, when anyone starts doing something new, we suck. So it doesn't matter how much time it takes us. As you get better, your final product gets better, meaning customers value it more. If my 11 year old daughter made her first music video, it might take her an entire month, and it would still suck. It's part of the learning process.
These are tips for other videographers just getting started from my own experience. Hope these tips are helpful.
Great info. Video was well constructed. Makes a lot of sense.

$100/min is an extremely low price for a music video. That may cover a small portion of your shoot time, but what about the edit time?
Jeremy Harris yeah same I was thinking around 50% more

@@deny3638 whatever makes sense to you at that time.
Agreed. Seems like your not paying ypurself for the edit.
Thanks Bro! you did a great job! helped me a lot for my first music video :)
Hell yeah man good to hear. I'm gonna start making a lot more videos like this. Been only doing vlogs for a long time.
CrackaLackTV great stuff bro! Keep up the great work. I will check out later the rest of your material. We are also struggling between vloging/ cinamatic Videos and so on. Would appreciate any kind of feedback from you :)
Thanks homie
Man a lot of people don’t come out and say it. It’s like they beat around the bush. Great info!
Right on I remember watching videos and they're basically saying for 20 minutes it depends. Like bro say some specific numbers.

Thank you. Maybe it's time I do an updated video. However I still believe this is a great video for what it's titled. Beginner pricing.
question the deposit process what if they deposit money and don't like the end product of the video do you give them back there deposit
I mean that's possible but it's never happened. I'd maybe write up a understanding stating something about how many edits they have and each additional edit or change equals a fee.
Yo crackalack wat do you think is the best aperture to shoot music videos with in your opinion
Lower the better. Never above 4

How much do your deposit be ? Like which percentage of the balance

Very powerful enough to be said loudly that it's expensive
Depending on the person.

Good beginner pricing info.
Nice video man but i have a question, will the video be cheaper if it was shot in nature
I base my pricing around time. Nature shouldn't matter.
@@CrackaLackTV ok thanks
Bro this is good,I'm new to the scene, and I have been trying to find girls it's not easy, people are lazy and boring.
I'd go the real model route if the budget works for it.
Have u ever put a contract out
Nope. Never used 1 actually in over 400 music videos
Ok thx

$100 per minute is insane cheap. Me as a beginner I wouldn't charge any less than $2500 day rate. Music Video is a lot of work.
