Man that is a sexy rifle! Maybe look into the Larue CTR cheek riser. The riser is the full length of the stock but the front half slides back so you can run your charging handle still. It’s not as low profile as the .25” one you got there tho
That's actually a riser I've been looking at. The problem with every other one I've tried is it doesn't allow full travel on the charging handle. Thanks for the suggestion!
God I love watching block 2 videos. I have something similar. It’s more weight but adding an A5, along with a law folder helps balance out the weight so much. I also adore the magpul XTM panels on mine. It makes it so damn comfortable to hold and it doesn’t get hot
@@makevelicustoms originally I was running an H2 (that came with the vltor buffer system) and a sprinco green spring. This ran great. But I updated my BCG and Bolt to the LMT enhanced BCG and bolt, with that I run the standard H buffer and standard vltor spring. The math of the vltor H buffer with the extra law folder plug weight equates to an H2.
Good stuff, heard you mention the buffer system. If you get a chance before you get the a5, try out the giessle h3 with braded spring. Ive been runnin it in my 13.7 suppressed for about 3 years now its been awesome, ive tested the a5 on a buddies 13.7 and theres so little difference to me i didnt see the point to go to it. Only thing id do to that rig you got at this point would be rattle can that bitch lol.
I’m confused, I know the polonium’s are great cans , but I thought they have the highest back pressure when comparing to like a sandmanS? Can any one confirm this? I actually have a sandman S , and I want a polonium , but was told that polonium’s have higher back pressure.
The full size polonium has more back pressure than the Sandman s. The polonium k has about the same maybe a touch more than the Sandman s. For reference the full size polonium and Sandman s where shot on the same rifle 13.7" 5.56 with a riflespeed gb. The polonium needed setting 2, and the Sandman s and polonium k needed setting 3 (a less restrictive setting) to bring ejection to 3:30-4 o'clock.
So far the felt gas in my face is much less with the Polonium-K. I'm sure there are scientific tests out there, and @theLeadGin might be quoting one of those, but in my real world experience, the Sandman-S has more back pressure and gas in my face. The rifle as a whole was tuned as well as I could without getting an adjustable gas block or BRT tube before, and just swapping the cans, there is a noticeable difference, and the Polonium-K comes out on top. This is all just my opinion and my experience.
@@projectblackhills not very scientific, just something me a couple of buddies did. I took the Riflespeed gb off my 308 and installed it on my 13.7 5.56 Noveske with a milspec buffer spring and carbine buffer. We just wanted to see the differences in gas between our "traditional" baffled cans and flow through. We compared Sandman S, K, Resonator, Resonator k, polo, polo k, saker k, and a velos.
I need to grab one for the front. It completely slipped my mind to get it along with the other caps. It will be in the 3rd update to this rifle (if that ever happens). Thanks for watching!
@@projectblackhills ok cool I thought so great video man just found it today. I think a third video would be awesome with guesstimate round count and how things are holding up pros cons
Not a bad idea. I'd probably need to sit down and actually think about the round count. But as of right now, the rifle is set up in a way that I wouldn't really change. I guess we'll see further down the road though.
Hey Hunter I think I asked this in the last video. Have you tried using the riser with the intention of head forward on the stock for scope use, and head back w/ the riser for a little boost on the top mount dot? I'm on the fence about getting one for a setup like yours, but I want to have a decently usable top dot without nods as well.
That was definitely the original plan. I've just found that this specific style of riser does nothing for cheek weld. If you do a normal weld, you don't feel it, and if you try and move your head back to get up on the riser, it feels awkward and unintuitive. Like I said in the video, at this point, it's only on there for looks. Gives the tan stock some nice contrast and doesn't add any noticeable weight.
Full size polonium with A5H2, Geissele super 42 rifle spring is pleasant to shoot, ejects about 3pm with full power m193. Barrel is LMT MRP 14.5 carbine gas
I just got the polo K as well, and so far, I really like it. But it's also my first hard use can. The B&T SBRS came on my radar a little late, though. Might have gone that way instead.
@@projectblackhills thanks! I’m debating the Polo K or Griffin Recce 5K. From the 2023 Silencer Summit results, they are pretty much identical on sound, but everything I’ve read says the Recce 5K has lower back pressure.
If I put it up front, then the charging handle won’t be able to fully come back. The cheek riser is pretty much there to add contrast to the stock. It’s dumb that I’m keeping it on there for that reason, but it’s also so far back that it’s not effecting my cheek weld in the slightest.
I keep a peice of black tape over top of my stick with a pile of folded card as a reference point to put my face on the same stock every single time. @@projectblackhills

I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and my name is actually Hunter too... Pretty uncanny. Love the rifle, well done!
The larue RISR is what you seek. Its fantastic.

The Block II style is definitely peak in my opinion. Enjoy your setup. Sounds like it gets the job done!
A5 will help unsuppressed but if you're running suppressed full time get a pws steel buffer.
*If it's a carbine gas barrel
What weight buffer did you use??

Look into the( LaRue tactical riser) your cheek weld will be right above the forward slot and it's on a sliding mechanism so you can charge the handle
Have almost exact same setup. Love mine.
It's a great looking setup right??
@@projectblackhills absolutely it’s a great all around rifle
Good choice ditching the sandman for the polo K 👌
Looking stellar. Really enjoyed the close ups. Your face is nice. And a rattle can job would finish that thing up real nice😘
Ok come clean! What does it weigh as pictured? Love block II’s but they get heavy REAL quick especially with a socom profile.
It's on the more expensive side of cheek risers but you could take a look at the Battleline Industries SAPR.

Finally picked up the Ruggedized light cap. Way quieter than the original, just pricier and includes the shock collar
You should go gone with the half inche instead of qtr on the irregular cheek riser
I’ve tried every height. .25” is the best height for a 1.7 mount in my option.
@@projectblackhills sounds about right I run tbe .5 on a 2.26 and it’s $$$
Are you running the GOVT or SOCOM profile barrel?

ofc the K is going to have less back-pressure than the S.
Would love a video on your thoughts on the Polo K.
Once I get more rounds on it, I will. I also want to test it against the RC2 on shorter rifles. Just need to have a little more time with it.
