Every English language video about Honduran culture gets thumbs up from me. I loved the way he explained every dish. I would say the reaction to the banana soda was a little exaggerated. Seriously. If you have drunk American Coke, you can drink anything. Anyway. Kudos to these Honduran women for bringing the flavor of our cuisine to Texas. Best regards from Danlí, Honduras.
He's such a charismatic, friendly, and outgoing host - it must be really easy for any owner to be comfortable enough to tell of their personal backstory and background of their food-joint / restaurant.
Being Honduran, I really like when people from other countries take their time to taste and even make a video about our food :) If you haven't tried any Honduran food, you're missing out! Just a correction about your video though. "La Baleada" originated in La Ceiba. The Sula Valley, where El Progreso is located, gave us the "Pollo Con Tajadas". Which to my taste, it's much better with green banana "tajadas" than with plantain "tajadas" :p
@@sarah-sandres you got really lucky! Haha hopefully he can dance some "Punta". Baleadas, Pollo con Tajadas, Taco Flauta, Churros Preparados, Tajadas con Carne Molida, Pastelitos de Maíz, Sopa de Caracol are some of the dishes I would recommend trying.
Baleadas are NOT from El Progreso! They're from La Ceiba!! :P I know the first woman who started selling baleadas and made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/6euTAHn938U/v-deo.html *hit the English subtitles ;)
The Honduran tacos & fried chicken look sooooo good. If Lucas did finish all that food by himself, he'd be on that 600 lbs show on cable. Ha ha ha... Another great ep... Lucas needs to get on cable. Love the level of empathy he has when interviewing people.
watching Lucas is like hanging out with your friend that cares to explain the things you're about to eat with you, candidly and with no pretense. and I found a new term: "chemical aftertaste"!
I'm so happy you liked the food. Honduras doesn't get recognized very often for anything good so I'm happy you helped spread some of our culture around. Can't belive you didn't like the bananino though, that stuff is delicious.
I've eaten here before when I was on my way back from drill ( army thing) , and it was one of the best comfort foods from the motherland I've had in a long time. Good stuff
My adopted twins were born in El Progreso...we live in San Antonio, but have eaten at Sabor in Austin. Muy rica! My daughter loved her baleada and my son was so happy with his tajadas! Need to visit again soon!
you the man lucas- thank god for this guy. this guy is the only reason a lot of people watch this show- please give him even more airtime- before the food network steals him. he deserves his own show like bourdain. he's articulate, educated , sensitive to many cultures and cuisines and blends well with the locals. unlike the pretentious hipster meat expert douche who is easily the most hateable guy to watch - let alone watch eating out there. if i hear that guy use the words "mouthfeel" I'm going to punch my screen. We want someone we would enjoy eating a meal with- who's company we would enjoy- please take it to heart- and have more of this guy- and less of the other. u ll get ALOT more views and the show might even become viable.
Lucas is the best food show host on UA-cam. I guess to get on Food Network you need a platinum blonde goatee and need to wear a lot of bowling shirts and Oakleys.
+OskeeWowWowIllinois We keep Lucas cuffed to a radiator in the Eater break room. We're not letting him escape off to other food networks. Thanks for watching!
Lucas! Once again you do a stellar episode of food I can't get in my part of Northern California. Lovely ladies, outstanding food and nasty banana soda. Perfection. Blessings ChefMike
Lucas' reaction to the banana soda and birds had me in stitches! I love this guy. Been in Honduras a couple of times and do do have some delicious food. From Central America, my two faves dishes would be a thing called Pepian Verde from Guatemala and Caballo Bayo from Nicaragua. No idea if you can find those in the US though.
LOL, I do have one. I had it in several places but the one I remember the most was in Valle de Angeles, just outside Tegucigalpa. The anafre de frijoles con chorizo or queso fundido. damn, so good!
PozoBlue for me as a honduran our most delicious food is our barbecue, we make it with green banana chips, chimol, salt cheese (a little), and red beens dip, delicious with any kind of meat
Yoooooo i dont know why but im so happy when people say good things about honduras when i barely even know anything about it and im from honduras. But i only went their for 2 years and me and my mom dont really talk about it but the food is to die for and i cant really eat any bode elses food cause i think that it doesnt have enough flavor or it just tastes weird so yeah ima go cause is awkward bye 👋
Who else is from Honduras but moved away and misses it soooooooooo much😂❤️😂🙈❤️😫😫 i misss the food the most but also family my whole family is there but ahhh j miss it so much😭😭😫❤️
I wanna visit that place, I love Honduran food... Well, I love everything about my country hahhaa, but seriously, I wanna go to Austin and visit that place. Honduran restaurants in Dallas are really bad. -.-
Lucas has a way of making both the viewers and business owners feel comfortable, really is the best host on this channel

@@ArmandoMachado92 lol yes he can dance! I’ll have to try everything you mentioned! 😋 thanks!
Lucas Peterson needs a Netflix food show. He is by far one of the best person that can convey taste on screen - Asian Food Nerd
Nothing better than the tacos flauta it's one of the dishes that make you feel like if you're in the five stars country!! Fabolous!!
Baleadas are NOT from El Progreso! They're from La Ceiba!! :P I know the first woman who started selling baleadas and made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/6euTAHn938U/v-deo.html *hit the English subtitles ;)

Keep up the great work. Because of your Eater show, I've been reading your NY Times article on the "interwebz".
watching Lucas is like hanging out with your friend that cares to explain the things you're about to eat with you, candidly and with no pretense.
