Ok in regards to kayfabe being dead and wrestling being fake.... the story lines of course are scripted but the athleticism by no means is fake. Do we watch a movie and say its fake? No. Same idea. The story isn't real but their skill sure is
Poor Chavo , he’s really had to deal with some very unfortunate circumstances In his life, affecting the people around him he loves!!! Chavo doesn’t get enough credit with being a very strong and resilient man with everything he’s gone through in his life!!! Nothing but respect, admiration, and love for Chavo and the Guerrero family!!
I grew up watching Chavo before I really appreciated the art of the wrestling industry, when I looked back at his work I realised how underrated he was.
As a young kid who believed in kayfabe, I hated Chavo. Years later, when I got back into wrestling, my respect for Chavo shot through the roof after Dark Side Of The Ring because I loved Chris Benoit as a kid. David Benoit's heartbreaking answer to who helped him (only Chavo and Jericho) after the tragedy sealed it for me. Not all heroes wear capes.
Benoits case still hits us different. I grew up watching Chris Benoit and his career is hard to ignore and erase. Regardless of what the fans say online, he will never be in the Hall of Fame but we can't forget what he did in pro wrestling industry. Everytime I see someone do a crossface or a flying headbutt, I will always think of Benoit.
I've been watching old Nitro episodes and man, it hurts my heart a little every time one of Benoit's matches come up. I don't hate him, I just feel sad that the world was and still to some extent is such a place that still lets people down today that suffer from mental health issues.
@@TheDropkick I remember seeing Triple H use the crossface at WrestleMania 24, that was the first time to my knowledge that the move was used after the Benoit tragedy and it really hit me on another level. Then they gave Daniel Bryan a variation of the crossface and even the bloody diving headbutt (which definitely contributed to his broken neck), it's pretty much obvious they want these moves to not be associated with Benoit anymore, and it's true younger fans will associate them with Bryan now but us older fans will always remember.
Not only do I hope David becomes a wrestler if he wants, but I just hope he has a happy life regardless of what he decides to do in life I really just want him to be happy and successful in life in general, it would be awesome to see him in the ring, but unfortunately his dads actions will never be forgotten and because he’s a Benoit even though David seems like an awesome person in the interviews I’ve seen with him, he will always be tied to what happened with his dad unfortunately it shouldn’t be like that but people are dumb, people should just let David be himself and let him build his own life and live and just be David, he shouldn’t be remembered for something he had no control of, David is his own man and it’s his life and I wish him nothing but success in life
COMPLETELY agree with Chavo's view on never allowing the fans to see the "string". I catch myself yelling at the TV sometimes saying "Lay that shit in, quit exposing the business." Even though i know its a working punch i want to get lost in the match, forgetting its predetermined. Another thing i dislike about todays pro wrestling is that they make themselves too accessible. All over social media talking their personal lives. I understand they are human but is it that hard to make 2 profiles, one personal, one business. Man i miss Kayfabe. The Mystic is gone.
Kinda disagree and agree; I disagree because ultimately at the end of the day fans would end up thinking that the wrestlers are their character(the more realistic characters) which will just cause problems, but I agree that they're too accessible because I be wanting to follow wrestlers and they really sometimes need to just...stop posting about extremely personal stuff.
Facts! That's why it makes me happy when i go too events and see little kids cheering or booing, they still think it's real and should always. The Internet and dirtsheets ruined it lol
Speaking as an independent wrestler, I can say that I’ve established some friendships with wonderful people who met me through seeing me on a show then following my social media stuff. I’ve attended some of their kids birthdays, their weddings, even some funerals but there’s always a fan page for those who just want content 🤷🏻♂️
Another masterpiece from the one and only Fleet-machine! not gonna lie, that closing Viva La Razza from Chavo made alot of people smile including myself ofc so I cannot explain the gratitude for this interview since Chavo and especially Eddie was a huge part of why I got into wrestling in the first place Keep it up my man and may I say, you lookin' fine af fam!
I've been waiting for this interview since I saw the preview. You're killing it Chris! Wonderful interview, hearing about Chavito's new projects, him talking about Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. Man, thank you for doing what you do. Can't wait to see more!
Eddie Guerrero to me is my hero, my inspiration he is the reason I fell in love with professional wrestling. I can't thank you guys enough for keeping his memory alive there is only one latino heat and he is the GOAT
I was about 8 watching Eddie for the first time in 2003 and I was always a huge fan. I used to run into the kitchen where my parents would be during eddies entrance and go “viva la raza” and do the arm shake thing and the slap on my chest. He past away when I was 10 and it hit hard. I still remember hearing about it at school not believing my friends. And then raw came on that same night and I was devastated and still am to this day. I can put on a Eddie match and start tearing up
I always loved Chavito. I remember loving Los Guerrero's & when he teamed with his Dad. He's underrated and should've been world champion. Yeah he was ECW champion but that run was a joke. He deserved better. Remember his rivalry with Eddie & his rivalry with Rey over the cruiserweight championship? I miss those days.
I think Chavo needed a break I remember the night after WM 22 he lost an Intercontinental title match on Raw and I don't remember him coming back for a few months till he turned on Rey
Wow. Never actually seen anything from Chavo, other than his wrestling persona. He is so humble, funny and down to earth. Extra respect earned from me here.
Thank you so much for this. I had just been watching old clips of Eddie, Rey, Chris and Chavo and thinking how none of the three (not including Chris) were on my newest WWE game. Such awesome discussion between the two of you. And Lillian teaser at the end...perfect! Have a great day!
Have to watch this later. Always loved Chavo I was in the crowd the night he won the ECW title I was one of a few fans that stood up and clapped for him
Chavo being able to overcome his less than good gimmicks in wwe and the tragedy that was him finding eddie and him being close to chris bless chavo even tho I didnt appreciate him as a wrestler until I really understood wrestling in the grander scheme of things
I've met many wrestlers over the years but one of the most humble, respectful and kind hearted, was Chavo. He makes you feel like more than just a fan. He makes it feel like HE is honored to meet you, like you're a friend. I will never forget meeting him and the impact he had on me. The way he rated other wrestlers so highly when I commented he was one of the greatest Cruiserweight champion of all time. He said my compliment was too kind. Man is truly a Legend and should have been WWE champ, even just once.
I really enjoyed this interview! I was a Chavo fan growing up, so it was good to catch up with him. I wish you guys explored more into Chavo working with the "WWE" ECW brand and the La Familia storyline
I follow Chavo on IG but haven't really paid attention to his projects. After watching this interview, I'm hooked to whatever he's working on so I'll be listening to his podcast and trying out the beer soon. He's a good man, thanks for interview Chris!
I watch and listen to every one of your videos on you tube and i must say what a great guy Chavo is. This is by far one of most favourite of your interviews to date, it was so interesting and Chavo has such a great background and amazing story to tell.
I worked out with Chavo once in a hotel gym in Australia, we saw Man vs Wild on the tv and Chavo just looked at it shaking his head in amazement. It was so awesome. Forever love Chavito. Plus his feud with Rey and Eddie in WWE was great and he's one of the best comedy heels in the bussiness.
One of the best things to see is professional wrestlers doing well after they hang up the boots. Great to see Chavo in a good spot with his life and another great interview CVV. Can’t wait to see you hit that one millionth subscriber, will be well earned.
This was great learning the mind and wisdom Chaco has for wrestling. Got me deep in the FEELS when he talked about Eddie. God I miss him. Eddie’s life is a TRUE testimony of salvation and redemption.
When Chavo said “you never really master it” I immediately thought of Kurt Angle, then he literally mentioned him 10 seconds later haha. This was a great interview, thanks Chris! 👍
Chavo was present at Eddie's room and at Benoits house shortly before he "died". Chavo's explanation of events on the morning of Eddie's death is fishy at best
I always have loved Chavo, not so much his gimmicks (the mop, kerwin), but his wrestling and personality I always thought were top notch. He seems like such a cool dude, I would love to have some of his beers and hang out with him for an afternoon. Great interview Chris, I always look forward to you dropping more content!
