Back in the mid 2000s, Rey Mysterio alongside Batista & Undertaker were one of my favorite childhood wrestlers, back in the good old Friday Night SmackDown days.
Rey Mysterio not only brought the lucha libre style by storm but also opened a door for future luchadors, high flying, & Hispanic stars of the ring.
I thank Rey Mysterio for the childhood memories & he still amazes me to this day.

Legendary luchador, there are movies and comics featuring him, though his real name was El Enmascarado de Plata (The Man in the Silver Mask,) the fans just took to calling him El Santo on their own. After he became El Santo, he never made a public appearance without his mask and only once in an interview shortly before his death did he show his face, his own son didn't even know his father was El Santo for many years. El Santo still has some years on Rey of being "in character."

@@Just_A_Tim Just looked him up. Dang! Dude was Bob Dylan famous in his heyday. An entire adult life in character to please the people. Rey will probably get there. He's the most insanely dedicated wrestler of my era.
IMO, the reason lucha libre is even a thing in America is because ECW brought the style here. WCW certainly was the peak for it as far as major TV goes.
The Cruiserweight belt and division in WCW between 96-99 is pound for pound the best division ever. It was nothing but PPV level sht for 3 years.

I got into wrestling in August 2003, so the perfect time for the cruiserweight division on Smackdown at that time, and watching Rey on a weekly basis alongside the likes of Tajiri, Jamie Noble, Chavo, Eddie, etc, gave me a lifelong love of wrestling. The first time I saw a live event it was November 2005, the week after Eddie passed, and Rey was in the main event of that week's Monday Night Raw. That he could put on that kind of a show after that big of a loss gave me even more respect for him than I already had. Rey is the #1 lucha and best cruiserweight in WWE/WCW history imo 👌 🤷 been a fan of wrestling since i was 4 years old. Which was in the year 2000 and always loved watching Reys matches! Bro has so many insane memorable moments. Him and Jeff Hardy always amazed me.

Rey will always be my childhood favourite. I was little and agile too. So when we wrestled as kids everyone else was like The Undertaker, Kane, Batista, Triple H, Edge... But I was the high flyer. 😅 Rey you made my childhood. I was always so excited to see you wrestle with your cool outfits and performing your outstanding moves.

I watched wrestling as a kid in the 80s but stopped around 1990. When i began watching WCW when the monday night wars got so mainstream and i first saw Mysterio wrestle I was in awe anyone could do this and he soon became one of my top three wrestlers. There's one specific Nitro match with Billy Kidman i've never forgot. He got Kidman on top of the turnbuckle and did a bulldog on him from there and while this might not seem like an amazing move now, at the time it was the coolest move i'd ever seen. Circumstances made it so I couldnt watch wrestling anymore by the early 2000s and i didnt see him when he came in the WWE but when i heard of the success he had there i was so glad.

The matches and things this man could and can do in the ring is unrivaled. He has more talent, in the ring, than he knows what to do with. Limitless respect to Rey Mysterio Jr. One of the rare guys that could legitimize title runs at that size. Elite performer.

The best interview ever. I have so much more to say and are so familiar with all the aspects of your career. I would love to have a 10 minute conversation so you know exactly how much I've followed your career. Thank you to Miguel Angel because if there wasn't him we wouldn't have you as well. Also if there was no Benjamin Mora I don't where this would have gone. Thank you again
