- I love these Aguila Colibri and Super Colibri .22s. Check them out in this video. Please take the time to like, comment and subscribe!
Very great ammo just tried it out and already gone through a box about to order another few more boxes. Thanks for the great video
Thanks for watching!
Nice old rifle, those are getting hard to find and expensive when you do find them. Great idea for a little indoor shooting fun. Great video.
Hamilton outdoors thanks Rob! Yep, I truly believe the 39A is the best .22 rifle ever made. Well, they still make them but it’ll cost yah $3100+ from the Marlin custom shop! I wish I could find an octagon barrel version that I could afford.
I have shot about 200 rounds of the regular colibri through my Ruger 10/22 and have never had an issue with them failing to come out of the barrel. Not only do they come out of the barrel just fine but I have also killed 3 squirrels and 4 chipmunks with them. I am now going to purchase some of the super colibri and try them out. These things are great fun and very quiet.
Nice! How did the chipmunks taste?
Thanks for watching!
Micah,
Shooting chipmunks ( TimberTigers ) is so wrong it comes with Bad Karma ...
@@fjb4932 Bad Karma for them for sure. They were destroying my landscaping and it didn’t end well for them…lol
Aguila = Eagle, Colibri = Hummingbird. Eagle hummingbirds...oh well. Yup, they are fun.
Thanks for watching!!
Love the Hickok45 shirt bro
I need a new one, this one is getting pretty ragged! Thanks for watching!!
I love the Marlin 39a. I've got a newer model, but it's a tack driver, I shoot bees with mine using an optic.
that sounds awesome! Thanks for watching!!
The bird on the box is an eagle not a hummingbird... Aguila means eagle in Spanish. My last name is Aguilar an old Spanish word which means “haunt of eagles”
Thanks for the info and great last name!!
Colibris means hummingbird and likely the reason for the hummingbird depicted on the box.
Just a little info for the next guy I just finished shooting over 400 rounds of the standard Colibri and 200 rounds of the super through my Gallery 18” pump 22 and every round worked without any problems at all but I will try to make sure I buy super from here on out because maybe I just got lucky who knows
The Colibri name comes from 🇫🇷 and means hummingbird. the cartridge was made originally by Flobert in 1880s It was then rename has Kolibri by an Austrian gun maker in the 1920s
Thanks for the info and Thanks for watching!
I've had no failure to exit on regular calibri's through a Henry frontier. Also, just got a box recently, the regular calibri's have an "A" stamped on the case.
They're rather inaccurate (some shots drop A Lot) but super quiet for my backyard. For accuracy my Henry likes Aguila LR super extra vs federal and herter's
Thanks for watching!! I had one failure on regular Colibri (not the super) on a Glock G44 of all things actually. I suspect it was just a way undercharged primer or something.
Correction, they DO have a hummingbird on them. I thought I checked them before I commented, but I was mistaken
I’m shooting Colibri standard velocity at 420 FPS out of my ruger 10/22 and nearly through a box with no failures to go all the way through barrel and pretty good power; so far enough to blast through a pop can filled with water all the way through without disrupting the can. Did not work as well through 22/45 pistol and was easier to manually cycle the 10/22 with no failures. I believe it’s due to the difference in magazine where the Ruger 10/22 accepts the shorter .22 long rifle cartridges in the standard 10 round box magazine, whereas they do not sit as nice is Ruger 22/45 pistol magazine.
thanks for the info
Thanks for watching!!
They can safely be used indoors if you have a proper backstop and wearing shooting goggles
Thanks for watching!
Make sure you open your windows to ventilate because it’s not good for you to just breath all that in
And ( double ? )hearing protection.
Oh, and a florescent shooting vest.
Oh, and a backstop Behind you, too. ...
I shoot the supers in my backyard at a spinning self healing target. Its a ton of fun and doesn't make a sound! I just found regular colibris im very curious if they actually will not exit the barrel of a rifle. You should try some shots and see and keep a cleaning rod handy!
I actually had a regular (non super) get hung in in a Glock G44 barrel the other day. Nothing a few light taps with a brass cleaning rod couldn’t fix. Others have shot the regulars in rifles with no probs...
I shoot the regular colibri in my henry lever action and ive never had one stick. ...... yet lol 😆
Not good to shoot these low velocity bullets out of a rifle might become jammed in the barrel
Colibri super has powder I shoot non super in house out of Henry and RUGER SP 101 never had failure for bullet to exit barrel the super you need a good backstop
I actually had a non super Colibri get stuck in my Glock G44 barrel the other day! Must have been a under primed load because it was only that one, nothing a brass cleaning rod and rubber mallet couldn't fix easily.
It’s great on those Ruger revolvers for backyard critters
Yep! I don't have a Wrangler but I used to shoot these out of my Single Six all the time. Thanks for watching!
That's the reason I bought a box, was hoping they'll be quiet enough for the backyard
@@rayburn8282 yeah as long as you shot em from a revolver man they’re are quiet af
I load one in a mag and use my Mark 4. It's so accurate
Aguila manufacturers a real hot 22 long rifle bullet close to 22 magnum FPS
They definitely have some hot ammo.
And they're VERY loud, I have a couple of Bricks, they'd stir up your neighbours 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just picked up two boxes today (10-15-21) at Dunhams for 7.99.
Thanks for watching!
I bought 3 boxes of the supers today...these will be wonderful out of our NAA and lever action rossi...
Nice 39a I like shooting the colibri out of my golden boy
Thanks for watching!
I have a contender I set up a bunch of archery targets as a back stop in my garage and plink when I cna find them
Never though of archery targets, good idea! Thanks for watching!!
Never had an issue of them clearing the barrel. These are very quiet.
I had one get stuck in my Glock G44 barrel once :) must have been a REALLY weak one....Thanks for watching!!
@HillbillyMusings I did always check, though!
The colibri do have a small amount of powder, very small. Colibri is spanish for quiet I believe.
Thanks for the comment!
They are a primer only round, no powder is used at all, which is why they only produce between 8 and 10 Ft/lbs, the CCI quiet has a very small amount of powder (open one) the quiet produces between 38 and 42 Ft/lbs...
Do you think these are quiet enough to shoot in the backyard without bothering anyone, yet powerful enough to leave a (guessing) 16 inch barrel? (Single shot bolt action)
Edit: could the noise be comparable to a Co2 bb gun?
I would think they would be pretty quiet. Not sure on the 16” barrel though?
@@HillbillyMusings ok. Thanks for the feedback!
Kenobi,
Works fine from My rifle.
After every five to ten shots, i run a wet bore patch through the barrell to remove the primer dust.
Cleans the bore, helps prevent a squib/stuck bullet ...
@@generalkenobi4509 I would be very confident my good sir. Im sure after a year you already tried it but it sounds like an Air RIfle kinda.
How would this type of ammo compare to cb long
I think the CB shorts may actually have a bit more power than these Aguila, but I may be wrong. Thanks for watching!
can you shoot these out of 23& 1/2 inch barrel(single shot)
Thanks for watching!!
According to the company your first pronunciation is correct.
Good to know and Thanks for watching!
Geeze, sounds like a cap gun!
It sure does! Thanks for watching!!
There like a pellet air gun.
Good comparison! Thanks for watching!!
There fun, shoot them outta my heritage RR 6.5, shoot them in the basement, they go about 1/2 inch into pine board..
Thanks for watching!
I tested them through my chronograph, shot them thru 3 different guns, my heritage RR 6.5" barrel and got an average of 480 FPS, my 10/22 16" barrel and got 520 FPS, and my old Marlin Glenfield 75 16" barrel and got 580 FPS.. I managed to hit just over 600 FPS with the Marlin a few times!!
i try to buy this round by the brick...so i can shoot in my yard without the noisy neighbors trying to turn me in for shooting in my yard....
I hear yah! Thanks for watching!!
You forgot pump action
very good point!! Thanks for watching!!
Can not explain correct pronunciation typing. Emphasis is on AG. Think ugh with an A. A Utuber named Moondog explain this and I have seen an official ad from Aguila correctly demonstrates it. Moondog also explained the symbol of the Eagle. Still good video.
Thanks for watching!!
