Great update video, we really enjoyed it. Fab campfire and what a way to cook beef stew and dumplings. The storm footage was great. All the best both Tris and Nikki 😀😀
@@tristanmorgan8407 Hi Tris & Nikki, we thoroughly enjoyed this little trip even if we did end up smelling like an old bonfire 😂. The stew was very tasty and the storm was a little bonus. Thanks as always, Helen and Dave 👍
Wow! I love the idea of cooking over the open fire like this, I know my husband would, man make 🔥 😂. I’ve just picked a huge bunch of lavender and am going to make some bags. I add lavender oil to my laundry liquid that I make. ( Nancy Birtwhistle’s recipe) looking forward to the next one.
Hi Sandra, do you know what, it was different and it was fun and the food was lovely, we really enjoyed the experience. The lavender smells so good. Do you make your own oil or do you buy it? We often visit the lavender farm at Heacham in Norfolk. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Loved the intro to this one Dave. Surprised you managed to cook that lovely stew while having them beers. Also thought you were going up in flames at one point. 😂🔥🥵
Hi Lesley, I smelled like a Yarmouth Bloater by the time I'd finished but it was great fun and the stew was amazing. Hope you & Ronnie are well and we'll catch you soon. ATB, Helen & Dave
That intro, wildlife and night time camera work and editing was really special, great stuff. Next week, Helen and Dave go canoeing on a bushcraft trip with Simon, a bloke in the woods and Kent Survival, hot tenting and doing what Bears do in the woods. Oh, and the drink I recommend on a cold winter night is Stroh Austrian 80% rum…
Mel, your comments are just the best 😂🤣. Actually, we do watch Kent Survival too and how did you know about the canoeing trip??? We had a good time filming this one, join us next year for our annual gathering and you too could be smelling like a bonfire 😂. Cheers, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi guys looked like a fab time doing a bit of camping, that stew looked good😋😋😋 helen looks better 😊 look forward to the Adnams tour, take care of each other xx
Hi Sue, honestly it was lovely! The Dutch ovens are great, you can cook anything in them. Breakfast featured in the next vid 😂Hope you’re well and thanks as always, Helen & Dave 👍
Great video - really enjoyed this one. The timelapse of the storm at the beginning was brilliant. James Martin eat your heart out on the cooking - Dave even had the foresight to sit upwind to avoid the smoke when he started 😀
Thanks Graham, we did enjoy making this too. You noticed my strategy to avoid the smoke, impressed but we did all smell like kippers by the end of the night. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
Quote of the day: "better in the dark" :D Coincidentally we went back to New Lodge Farm last week and bought the same floral tea cups as Helen has but in blue. Them lavender posies look great, well done Lady Helen, well done indeed :)
Fraudulent slip ha ha! New Lodge Farm is one we need to get back to as well, we really liked it there. Helen's Lavender smelt really good and helped block out the smell of bonfires lol. Best wishes to you, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave There are times in this video where you look like you had a good eyeful of that bonfire, I bet the copious amounts of alcohol lessened the pain :D
Great video. We're from Yorkshire, so blessed with loads of pale/blonde beers. Probably my favourite is Oakam Citra. There's loads of breweries near us in West Yorkshire, and some of Sheffield pale ales🍺 are worth looking at.
Hi Glen, another recommendation in for Citra, sounds like I need to give it a try 🍺🍺 My family on my mothers side are all from Sheffield so it seems appropriate to give them a try too 😂🍺. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
Hi Garry, yeah I haven't used one of them since the 70's but you're right, they did add something to the atmosphere (so did the beer lol). Thanks for watching, ATB, Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave, Well this one has been different but very enjoyable 😉. Takes me back to the Scout days and a canvas tent 😅. The stew looked very yummy 😋. How quick they arrived 😂. Can't believe you put your ghostship in the pot 😮 Badger golden glory amber ale or my home town Ossett brewery silver king. That must have been Dave heaven in the brewery 🍻. Loved the drawer liner tip 👌. Take care and enjoy as always. Paul and Joanne 👍 😍
