I hear ya, years ago I felt the same way, hell, years ago I would have hard tailed it in minute! Now the look of it is really growing on me! Thanks so much for watching and checking out my channel! Frank
Thanks again for checking out my video! I’m really digging the stance with the new shocks, & forward controls. BTW, you looked pretty cool with those 80’s sunglasses, I hate to admit I remember those 🤣🤣🤪, but what happened to the video, did UA-cam take it down?
Absolutely, stance is such a major factor in the overall appearance and appeal not just to the rest of the world but at the end of the day to you your own perception. Oh and that last video, seemed like a good idea at the time, the next day not so much😊
Thanks!! I’m thinking about a 21” wheel for the front, possibly a springer front end as well ( I have a little fascination with them 🤪🤣), that should determine the stance/height/profile I’m looking to achieve. But for the moment, I’m really digging it the way it looks!! Thanks so much for checking out my channel and watching the video!! Frank
I inherited this bike from my cousin, he bought the bike in the late 80’s, if I had to guess, he probably got them from Paughco in the early 90’s. He was a huge fan of Paughco, so that’s my guess. I’ve had them off , but nothing to identify them. I’ve seen them pop up at swap meets every now and then. Your the third person who wants them!! I heard Cycle Shack makes some??? But I never checked into it. I live in Fla, swap meets don’t have much, I’ve seen & found more parts around St. Louis, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania or the north east states . Or Calf. If you live out west. Keep looking!! Thanks for checking out my video & channel!! Ride Safe, Frank
Do you know how many people get injured Disassembling shocks in a rig like that ? Cutting the spring would have eliminated the travel in the piston ! Careful riding because shit is not going to drag on the road around every turn. These modifications are going to hurt the value of a 46 year old bike !
Probably more than I care to admit! I’m glad I did take them apart, the piston inside was shot! I did replace them with a bit shorter ones, but ride is much better , no bottoming out, no rubbing. So far so good. I do agree with you on value, but I’m just a old Grease Monkey who loves old Hot Rods & Harley’s . There is several Harley’s of mine that I enjoy & will never sell, this is one of them. I’m trying not to go to crazy with this one, but it has to look & preform like the version in my head! Thanks again for checking out my channel & videos, I appreciate all the feedback. I’m happy to hear someone else appreciate the old Shovels out there, they are still some sitting in garages, I’m hoping to inspire others to get them out & enjoy some Old Iron!! Ride Safe out there!! Frank
@@springersadventures7654Somewhere along the line I became surrounded by shovelheads, now I do them for clients. They may be easy to work on but there was a lot of models & small changes in 18 years 😅
😂 Years ago, I didn't like covered shocks. Now I really dig 'em. Looks good, Bro

That’s the way ya do it. Like that look.
Thanks so much! It really changed the profile of the bike. Thanks a bunch for checking out my channel and watching the video!! Frank
You've inspired me, been thinking about dropping the rear of the 77 FLH about an inch for quite a while. I guess I should just do it.
