Florida is Flooding!!!, Why??My Opinion
Just my thoughts of WHY the Daytona/Ormand Loop Scenic trail has been flooding more & more. The building in Florida has been nonstop, just plain crazy! The even bigger problem is causing a insane increase to the house and auto Insurance. If you are moving to Florida, Please do your Homework!! Make sure that your not building in a area that was previously a swamp! Make sure that you house is not below the street grade, or that your house is at a lower grade then your neighbors( look up Palm Harbor neighborhood in Flagler Co. building issues on other UA-cam videos). And last but not least, make sure you can get/afford Insurance, the cost for your house, car, motorcycle, & RV(trust me, they all have gone up!!)

See how I try to protect & preserve the paint on my old '52 Chevy truck (or car, motorcycle, tools, toolbox, tractor, farm equipment, etc, etc, etc!!)with Penetrol. Very easy to apply, used about a pint to do 2 coats (about 16 oz) on the old truck.

We cleaned up a vacated property, in return, in lieu of being paid to clean up the property, we took possession of all the contents on that were on the property & in the house (not the house). It ended up being a GREAT ADVENTURE full of great finds. Just another means to find some hidden gems out there. Come see some of it!

I've been living in Melbourne Florida since 1969, and I can confirm your claims 100%. The state & local govt's are allowing these greedy land developers to hastily construct housing developments with VERY LITTLE thought & consideration to WHERE all of the rain run-off is going to go ( not to mention all of the fertilizers used ), after they bring in all of the fill dirt to raise the elevation for building all of these sub-divisions. They should be legally FORCED to dig FAR MORE retention ponds & lakes that are quite deep, in and around every subdivision, and also force them to install pumps in every water body, which uses water from each pond/lake itself to be used as fountains, which will keep those water bodies from becoming stagnant & minimizes weed growth & algae. The HOA fees could pay for running & maintaining those pumps. Decades ago, if you dug a pond over a certain size, it was the law that you HAD TO stock that pond with native species of fish.......namely bass & bluegill. But I'm told the state changed that law. If they got back to doing that along with all of the above, the flooding would be greatly reduced and would even create more & better freshwater fishing opportunities. But as of right now, they're only digging a bare minimum of these retention ponds, and they are quite shallow. GREED is rapidly destroying Florida. They should also make it ILLEGAL to sod the yards of all these new homes with grass that requires "DAILY WATERING" and force them to plant native grasses & plants that DON'T require so much watering. All of this watering & fertilizers are destroying Florida's precious aquifer & river systems too. They should also be forced to leave areas of trees & other natural vegetation in and around every subdivision.
& I agree 100% with you as well!! I’m glad to hear others agree with me on this subject. I mention it to others in conversation & people say it’s not that bad, Bull$*€t!! It’s costing everyone more money each & every year in insurance & taxes that this goes on! It’s ironic you mention that grass, take a look at the Villages south of Ocala, all St Augustine grass yards ( which takes tons of water & fertilizer to maintain). Florida is definitely changing & not so much for the better!! Thanks so much for watching my video, checking out my channel & commenting!! Springer

Ok
Right on cuz!
Thanks Cuz!!! Might need to call you for a raft!😂
When I was in High School, around 1981-82, my History Teacher told me a good part of Florida would be under water in 50 years. I forget what he said the reason was, but I guess we only have 6-7years left. Lol

Would love to see how often you have to do upkeep on surface. Have you thought of sealing with silicon wax over the top of the Penetrol? Thanks for the video
@@michaelrubbo7467 I’m kind of curious myself. It stays in the garage unless we are out in it, but the Fla sun, heat, & rain is pretty rough on vehicles! If it lasts 6 months I’ll be extremely happy!, I usually wax my stuff about twice a year. I’ll post an update when I do it again, if you try silicon , let me know. I've had to make the same repairs on a couple shovels and an Evo and it usually goes the same way for me. You have to get in there and adapt and overcome depending on how it wants to act. I had one come out after the 4th attempt with the nut welding approach. I've had good luck with left handed drill bits as well when drilling became necessary, I've also had to go the helicoil route which I was a bit nervous about strength issues down the road but I did it about 20 years ago and still have the bike and I've never had an issue with it. In fact I'm quite impressed with how strong the helicoil threads are. Thanks for filming your battle, congratulations on the win, good job! 👍
@@81Ironmike Thanks so much for checking out my channel and watching my video! It was a bit frustrating for sure, I’ve had success before welding a nut & spinning it out, But not this time! I did order a helicoil kit just in case, & also called a friend of mine who has a machine shop because I thought I’d be removing the head, but alas, it worked out (SoFar!!) @@jonnysl6560 Thanks Jonny!! If you have a minute or two , check out my playlist on the Shovel. It also was stored away (about 25 years ago!) it’s been a labor of love! Just put some new shoes on it, may take it out for a spin tomorrow for the 4th! ( depending on temperature , it’s been Triple digits here in Florida, not a lot of fun having a hot air hairdryer blowing at ya!) Way.cheap ⛽️ gas
When you go about 10 west of I-95 in South Carolina, I’ve seen it as low as $2.93 for regular!
I was out there from about 11.00 - 1.00.
That’s about same time I was there, I have to say, Willy is going to need a bigger spot, it’s grown to big for his property. It’s very hard to check out all the bikes, they are crammed in there like sardines in a can! I went Wednesday to the Steel City Pizza show, smaller show with some extremely cool bikes! You’re so welcome!! Thanks for such kind words as well!! Thank God someone respects us!🤣🤣 I actually learned that in my shop class while in High School in the 70’s. Thanks again for checking out my video & channel, Ride Safe!! Frank
The mutha load!😮😅
& the crazy part is they been sitting for over 20 years, only a few miles from my place. I’ve been by the property a million times, never seen them ( very overgrown & privacy fence)
Well make those dreams come alive my friend
I tried, the old Harley & the big block El Camino are out the top of the list!
Very Good video, and step by step processes to do....for an AMAZING GAS TANK cleaning procedure. Sharing it with friend who recently got an older bike that's been sitting for a spell, and was wondering what exactly to do. The lines can be replaced,as can gaskets, etc .... But this was simply awesome, and seemed to work like a champ !!! Loved the Diesel & 2-Stroke Oil Mixture made,to help put a finishing touch on an already DAMN FINE JOB !!👍🤜🤛✌️.... Nice info man. Very 👍 Nice!!!🤜🤛
Thanks so much for such fine words & sharing it with your friend!! I truly appreciate you checking out my video & channel!! I wish I could take credit for coming up with the diesel & 2 stroke oil mix, but I actually learned that from my Auto Mechanic teacher in high school ( back in the’70s), he showed me that as I was rebuilding my 55 Chevy. I remember driving it to school 1 day & it was running so rough, it was the class project, we pulled the gas tank out & looked just like the Shovel tank! I glad the stuff I learned 50 years ago still comes in handy today. Thanks again & best of luck to your buddy!! Frank
For the concoction you used to coat the inside of the tank, how much diesel fuel and two-stroke pre mix did you use?
I used 2 quarts of oil for about 2 1/2 gallons of diesel . It was a concoction my old mechanic teacher showed us back high school many years ago! I’ve used this method on cars, trucks, lawn mowers & motorcycles. I always keep everything full of fuel from there on out . Lots of condensation down here in Florida, it definitely works, I’ve been using this process for about 45 years! Hope it works for you!! Thanks so much for checking out my channel!! Frank
I'd rather have a '69. 😂
‘69s are cool too!
Does it have the 350 in it?
I really don’t know, I hung out in the parking lot for a while but never met the owner . If you stay tuned , I’ll be doing a long video on a buddy of mine who is finishing a 70 1/2 with a LS motor, it’s super super sweet!
That's what I had in high school same color. Fun
I guess we’re starting show our age!!🤣
Also, stay tuned, I’ll be doing a in-depth video on a buddy of mines 70 1/2 he just finished a ground up restoration! Thanks for checking out my video & channel!
Is that a stock hood? Looks add on and out of place, like is that hood bulge even necessary?
Nope not stock.. ugly aftermarket
No, that’s a aftermarket
What did you use to plug the nipples on the tank?
I have an assortment of rubber caps that are normally used to close off vacuum lines, they work very well. If you don’t have any, take a piece of hose, cut it a few inches long, insert a bolt in 1 end & & place the other end over the nipple. If it’s too loose, use a couple hose clamps to tighten. Hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching & checking out my channel!! Frank
The Beech 18 was continuously produced from 1937 to November 1969, setting a world record for longevity at the time. Over 9,000 Model 18s were built, making it one of the most widely used light aircraft globally.

@@springersadventures7654 Hey Frank hope you are doing well. I was going to do an oil change this weekend and was wondering what screw on oil filter you use? I am having trouble finding parts since the VIN is the short one. Thank you!
@@shaneflanagan5496 Good evening Shane, all is Great, thanks for asking!! My bike still has the original oil tank, in 1978, Harley was still using a drop in oil filter, it drops right into the tank. If that’s what you’re looking for, I can send you the part number in the morning, I have a couple on the shelf. If you have a screw on filter, someone changed/added that on, I would check with a independent shop to see if they can match one, or send me a picture & I’ll try to help out as well. I’ll look through my original owners manual in the morning for the OEM number as well. Take care and have a nice evening! Frank
Any details on that stud? the length?
Thanks for watching Jeff! The studs came in a kit from J&P cycles (#P1007158), about $20. If I recall, stud size is 5/16-18 & about 7/8 -1” long with allen key cut into it (5/32?) If you already have some gaskets, you can go to an industrial supply store & pick up some hardened studs & star washers. You may have to play with the length depending on the thickness of your flanges. I like the ability to hold the stud with allen key & back off the nut. I never liked running bolts in & out of aluminum, it Always creates a problem eventually! I hope this info helps, feel free to reach out anytime!! Frank
