If you have metal racks for the canvass panniers they will also protect the back of your bike. No need to get a second engine guard.

I don't have those particular racks to hold the canvas panniers. I have leather bags, if I have a rear guard it will help protect the bags.

I've made the following non-performance mods to my Signals Marsh Grey:
1. Low seat
2. Engine guard
3. Heel-toe shifter
4. Canvass panniers
5. Rear rack
6. Windshield
7. Fog lights (mounted on engine guard)
I think I'm done!!
