    I recieved my QueenBee Pro 5 days ago and I literally just finished the build. I accomplished this not by flipping through the manual but by watching your videos on UA-cam. I wanted to say thank you for creating a great followable step by step series of video for people exactly like me. You did a fantastic job creating the entire build video. Putting the parts list up on the screen at the begining of each build segment was a real help, if you could improve in one small area it would be to also put up on the screen the Gcode you type in this segment of the video. I know you displayed your counsel but unfortunately if I didnt catch you saying the commands I was not able to see the small print and found myself rewinding your video several times to catch exactly what you said. But thats only during 10 minutes out probably 6 hours of video. I guess Im trying to say you did a kick ass job and I liked every segment and of course subscribed after the very first video. Thank you very much for investing a HUGE amount of time to create this video series, I really enjoyed this build because I had a great informative video to watch and follow along with.

    Hi, Thanks for the great videos. I live in Barrie, Ontario and I'm thinking of buying a QueenAnt 1515 with the servos steppers (4.3amp I think). I have no clue how to select a controller and they have several options. Most are Mach 3 and I understand I would need to buy Mach 3 software if I choose one of those controllers. However, I see other options ie. GRBL controllers or Arduino based USB controllers. There are so many permutations that I don't know the best route to go. I want to use VCarve Pro and have downloaded the trial. A controller that appears on Vectrics list of controller would probably make setup easier?? The work I will be doing is 2D and 3D signs etc.

    Fantastic video! Quick question; Are you able to run the higher max feed rate because you have higher rated stepper motors? The Bulkman kit comes with 3amp motors. What do you think max feed rate should be for a 3amp motor? I am running at 2000mm/min but would like to (safely) go faster, but would like to prolong stepper life as well.

    • @IllDoItMyself
      @IllDoItMyself  2 роки тому +4

      Thankyou, higher current typically leads to more torque not necessarily higher feed rate. Infact sometimes it can actually cause the motor to not be able to achieve higher feed rates. With 3amp motors you can keep the default settings. You should be able to achieve 4000mm/min or close to. If not try some dry lube on your lead screws and check for any binding. I use wd40 dry lube with ptfe and have great results.

    I love the idea of these units, even though I went down the Mach3, separate stepper driver route. It all works fine but having to run an XP computer for my router & another for my mill is a pain as they take up a lot of room!!! My only concern with switching over to one of these all in one units is exactly what makes them so easy, everything is inside! If a stepper driver dies on my system, I throw a 30 quid driver away. If one of the drivers dies in this type of setup, you throw away a 240 quid box, or is there a way around that?

    Love your video on the queenbee from bulk man! It had been very helpful. Building one myself, but have run into EMI issues. The end-stops is triggered on and off when my spindle is running. How did you wire the shielding in the cables? Do you also wire the shielding in the end stop to ground? (when I do, my end stop is trigged, so I have just wired the stepper and spindle wire shielding to the ground)

    • @IllDoItMyself
      @IllDoItMyself  2 роки тому +1

      The way to do this is use a grounding bar that every single ground is tied to. This means all shielding and ground points go to this one single point and then from there out to the wall. Nothing should split anywhere else as this could induce a loop. Take the time to do this correctly! If your still having trouble try hanging your spindle cable instead of running it through the cable chains. Also get on the facebook group for more assistance "CNC Router Workbee from China"

      @@IllDoItMyself Thanks for the response ♥️ 👍 I'am going to try that. Think the noise is transfered through the grounding in my current setup for some reason. Changing the end-stop logic from 5volt to 24volt with the jumper in the controller mitigated some of the issue, but I do not fully trust it yet without doing some other measure to fix the core problem. Subscribed to the facebookgroup as well. Have bought some ferrite rings, and is going to try out that as well...

Is the green wire for the spindle input the ground? I don't see that wire in the video. Also, For RST I don't see anything running to the "S" lead. Hi. I have just finished the build on my Bulkman3d Ultimate Bee with the xProV5 controller. Everything seems to work correctly, only one problem. I have set my steps per mm after checking the movement with a ruler however the z axis steps per mm is a lot higher than the x and y axis to get it to move with correct measurement. When I start a job the z axis moves up and crashes into the limit switch. what have I done wrong. X steps per mm = 320 and y steps per mm = 320 but z steps per mm = 800.

One thing that concerns me is that the estop is setup as NO which means that should you have a break in the cable or a bad connection then the estop will do nothing (not good) The limits/home are easy to invert from NO to NC through the software $limits/invert but there is no setting for the estop apart from flashing the firmware, which I just can't get my head around. I also got confused by this. But figured that if you use the command "$Stepper/DirInvert=x", two times it would NOT get back to it's initial state as i initially thought. It store the invertion so either it is inverted or it's empty. So if you type the same invertion again nothing is changed because the value is the same. (If $Stepper/DirInvert=x does not work try $Stepper/DirInvert=" to remove the x from being inverted, effectively inverting it from it previous setting) Also: you have to push the red reset button on the controller case for the change to go into effect.

    • @farabisakil
      @farabisakil Рік тому

      @@vincentbrun yes.. it is a buzzing sound. I managed to reduce the sound to an acceptable level. i found out that the sound is caused from the retention voltage of the motors being high when the motors are in idle state. in idle state the motor tries to hold its position, so it uses some energy and this causes the humming/ buzzing in the motor. you should change the idle motor voltage of each stepper motor. i forgot my settings for my motors but you can google for the idle voltage setting of can follow the settings in the video and if the humming is still there, set a lower value and see if the humming is in acceptable range. Note that, setting too much voltage will burn your motor quickly and tool low setting will result in unstable motor movement. hope it helps

    Thanks for the video. I have tried to follow it, but I am not able to control the spindle from the xPRO v5. A guide on for the controller github stresses that the serial connection must be done with a twisted pair cable, and that it needs 120 ohm terminators at both ends. I have done the programming of the VFD as per the guide provided by the xPRO v5 guide. The spindle moves if I switch the control to the front panel with the PD001 and PD002 commands, but will not work with these settings at 2 (communication port). I am considering using analog input, but not sure how to wire from the toolhead port on the controller to the VFD. Any ideas, or suggestions?

    Thanks a lot, as always perfect professional work. I have set the basic parameters, so far everything is running fine. I have one question. Each time I connect the machine to the network and start the CNCjs program, I have to reset the machine for the first time with the red button on the xPRO V5 to start / unlock / motors. When I use the Reset button in the CNCjs program and then the yellow Unlock button in the upper right corner of the monitor, the motors are silent. Only when I press the red button on the xPRO V5 controller are the motors energized. Then everything works normally goes via CNCjs in the upper right corner of the monitor / Reset button / This is always repeated after each connection of the machine. Is that okay or do I have something wrong set up? I look forward to more videos on detailed xPRO V5 setup. It's a nice Christmas present. Thank you.

I am having issues with inverting my Y axis, when I use the $stepper/dirinvert=y command, it seems to register when I check the controller settings but doesn't actually change the direction of travel when I hit Y+. Hi, what difference between xpro V5 and UC300 ? What do you prefer ? And you use which software to control your unit (Uccnc, Mach3, other ?) and make your gcode with Vcarve Desktop is possible ? I want switch for my stepcraft D800 v2 to queenbe. Thanks to your help

    • @IllDoItMyself
      @IllDoItMyself  2 роки тому +2

      Hey, UC300 is a Mach3 controllers only. Meaning you need a licence for Mach3 and you can only use this software to run it. They work great in my opinion however the V5 is a GRBL controller which is opensource and has lots of supporting software out there including cncjs. I generate my gcode with both Fusion 360 and Vcarve depending on what I'm working on. Both work great!

    • @IllDoItMyself
      @IllDoItMyself  2 роки тому

      My VFD is not connected with PWM it is on rs485. If your experiencing emi you need to make sure your machine has a star grounding setup. You can also move your spindle cable so that it is not run along side your other cables. You could suspend it above the machine to help.

    Issue: stepper motor stalled.
    Hi,
    I followed your video to set up my queenbee pro 1515 with Cnc_xpro_v5. I have set my X, Y, Z max speed at 4000. But whenever i try to move the X axis over 100mm or more in a single jog press, the stepper motor starts smoothly but nearly at 90mm distance the I hear vibrating noises from the Z axis mounting plate and in a second the X axis stalls, motor also sounds stalled in its position.

    Just set the machine but I have a problem, my emergency button is set in opposite way it should : (if you press it stops the machine but no error given, if you release it, CNCjs tell me the door is open) is there a command to invert this function in order to use it properly as emergency button?
    also when I use the $spindle command it just says "ok" but nothing happens and can't command the spindle from cncjs

    First off, thank you so much for the videos you have made and knowledge you are willing to share. I am in the process of setting up my xpro v5 controller and ran into an issue with my hard limits (homing switches). They are wired NC & I have updated the firmware with the appropriate XYYZ_NC file. I am also using CNCjs (couldn't get very far with Universal G-code sender). If i activate a limit on the axis that is moving, it stops the axis like it should. When I send a "?" command, I receive this" " which tells me the limits are active, correct? I think that is my problem....? But if they are stopping the machine when I press one, why do they show active when not pressed? did I miss a setting in the initial set up?
