Here in the States dentists are simply prohibitively expensive. I have a partial that fits but recently my gums burned like fire and I finally found YOU. Thank you so much because your remedies are already in the kitchen and they WORK. First they helped but what ALSO helped was knowing some pain is a normal part of healing for what is an abrasion. The relief was huge and I will bless you for the rest of my life!! As of now, i week later, I only avoid acid fruit still.
Day 2. Tops are rubbing and sore. Hard to remove between suction and extreme soreness and pain. Just a real nightmare. Bottoms are pretty good. Only 1 sore spot. Day 1, meds worked like a charm, no pain and great sleep. Day 2, no relief with med. (Oxi) so gonna add my own pain relief pill. (Ibuprofen) I hate everything right now. I sure hope it gets better. I waited a long time for these choppers!!!
Things will get better. I just had 8 top teeth removed and I got a complete top and bottom denture they look good and fit good except I developed a sore spot wright where one of the top teeth were and I have been rinsing my mouth out with warm salt water and it really is helping.
Thank you so much for these helpful tips. I am one week post-op from my full extractions. What's causing the most pain for me is the lower denture rubbing against the inside of my gum. I have been using the warm water/salt rinses four times a day, but I am also going to try the black tea bag and possibly the olive oil in addition to the rinses. So nice to know this is very common. I appreciate your little pep talk about this being a journey and eventually these ulcers will heal. Thank you my friend!
Thank you for your video. I am in constant pain and discomfort since my 4 extractions and full dentures 5days ago. I did not know I would be experiencing so much pain.
This was the most helpful video ever for dentures/gum sores wow - best info video ever on these sores. My dentist never even explained it or had even given me ways to heal. I said I’d use salt water - she said yes - but I told her, she didn’t tell me. However after watching your video I found out I’m not using enough salt nor was I using warm water. Going to follow your advise to the tee and comment later to let people know if it works. Thank you thank you thank you!
I extracted 18 teeth at the same time. My dentist Dr. Smith & his associates of Affordable Denture & Implants (Pearland, TX) prescribed an antibiotic (to start taking a day before the Extraction) and a strong dose of Ibuprofin. Soon after extraction, he clamped Premium Grade full Dentures (lower & upper) the same day. I had the perfectly fitting dentures. So, no pain anywhere. No inflammation of the gums. No ulcer. I believe the antibiotic AND high quality denture with strong pain killer are the reasons. Cheap dentures are very problematic, and always a pain in the mouth for months! Plus you need a good Dentist and clean equipment in the Clinic!
Thank you for your assistance Dr. I had a tooth extraction lasy week. Then a dry socket sugery on Tuesday, so i have been panicking since then. I am healing but now I have bone spur so I am super scared. But you have given me some ease 😭🙏
your welocme. yes lower dentures are the ones which will 90% of the time be the ones that require more patience thats forsure. Hang in there and over time they should settle in more each week/month.
Is it bad for you if you like when your gums hurt?, I've had this addiction since I was little I would take a knife and cut my gum and when it would bleed it mad me feel good,am I going crazy?!
you need to do a video on new denture wearers, Im on day 2, pain & aching, can barely speak, cannot eat. denture very sore against my gums and moving, feel very tight at the front and loose at the back, am actually wondering if I can do this.... :(
I'm going thru the same thing & my dentist told me if it begins to hurt immediately take them out & get a appointment or see if you can do a walk in appt so they can refit them
Hi Kim, thats a great idea. Ok, my advice though is do your best to get through. if you have clear signs of sores, ulcers, blood, then remove them and get an adjustment. If there are no sores but it just feels uncomfortable, then hold tight and be patient. The 1st week will generally be the hardest and from there itll gradually get better bit by bit. Now of course this is generic info as i cannot see your denture specifically, although, it will cover many peoples experiences when 1st wearing dentures .
@@lesman9686 Thanks for the info. I just ordered some of the sealant from Amazon. I just got mine yesterday and have ordered several different sealants to see which works for me
This is my first time using dental partials both top and bottom. When my dentist put them on it was tight and hurt and it wasn't easy to remove them. I tried to put them on myself at home and I can't it's so painful and I feel that it's going to get stuck in my mouth and break the surrounding teeth. Do I need to be fitted again? My partials don't move around. When I try to put them on I feel it's going to scrape my gums
Ulcers caused by new dentures are extremely painful, I've had a few sets of dentures over the years, and every new set caused me agony for at least a week,, it's not only the ulcer, but your gum will swell too, it makes trying to eat with the new denture torture.
Thanks for giving us the home remedies I have not slept properly for 4 days, and when my teeth hurts it straight goes to my ear and my ear hurts then it goes to my head is it normal?
I have full dentures. They both kinda suck lol My tongue has NO CLUE what to do with my bottoms and I end up pushing the bottoms with my tongue all the time, causing the denture to shift and get uncomfortable. I've had them for roughly 3 weeks and every time a sore spot heals, another one pops up 😪
Hi, don’t push yourself through pain. If your getting an adjustment , it is good to wear the denture for a whole day before the appointment , to allow the sore spot to be present , so that the clinician can easily find where to adjust . Hope this helps .
I got full dentures on July 5th and got ulcers, but just learned today that that's what they are. I also believe I feel some pieces of teeth they may have missed, but I'm not positive. I haven't worn my bottom dentures in 2 weeks or so, because as I mentioned before, I wasn't sure what those ulcers were. Should I wait until I go to the dentist tomorrow to try to put them back in, or should I put them back in immediately? Will they even fit, & what if I'm correct about there still being pieces of teeth just under the gums surface? Thank you in advance to whomever replies.
Hi Samantha, it can be common for small fragments of teeth to remain, although these usually can grow out of the gum over the coming months. If you had teeth out , and the denture instered immediately, then your gums have probably shrunk a bit now. In these cases a relining of the denture at the 6 week mark with a rubber lining then the 6 month mark with a hard lining is what i do for my patients. Definatley best to speak with your prosthetist who made them to get some after care and confidence. Dont give up, your on the journey now and thats the biggest step. good luck
I had tooth ache for years, was already thinking of going to see a dentist to remove it but a friend introduced me to Dr Mason channel on UA-cam,where I got a suplliments that I used ,today I know longer feel any pain again..thanks to Dr Mason
Why am I getting white tongue wearing my 5 bottom dentures only 5 false teeth on the denture plate They fit right just don't like wearing them wen I eat it haerts
I had sores but it only hurts a bit when i put it on first thing on a morning....the dentist did take it in and oit my.mouth alot to drill it down....so it did cause sores he couldn't fit the denture on at first because it was pushing hard on my gums😖😖
why can't the inside of the dentures have a thin rubber coating for comfort? is that too much to ask for what you guys charge ? why does the inside surface have to be be so hard and rigid? digs into your gums
There is a rubber lining you can get, although it’s not favourable due to it being absorbent, it actually can grow bacteria inside the rubber pores. So a hard base is Definately the main base due to its cleanliness and also it’s durability, as a rubber base would need redoing a lot earlier and more often.
Still better to reline with silicone. Also if we need to redo the process every 3 to 6 months, its no problem. But i must say, if you are used to your dentures you dont feel then anymore. To get a tight fit you could reline it yourself with a food graded silicon. Yes i also did that. Now at night its hard to get out, and in the morning you realy bite hard to get all the air out of it and then they are vacuum as a rock. I can easy eat a steak that was on the grill too long and not chewable anymore. My dentures are not moving a micro millimeter 😊 One tip for the ones that have a realy hard time because its too hard: just smear a verry verry thin layer of bison gel on it. Its like drain glue so smear it in your denture, put some oil on it (much) and bite it with some pressure. Now get you denture out of your mouth directly and let it dry for 8 hours.
