Excellent point about power loss recovery! I was wondering why my spiralized prints had these little bumps, I think they are referred to as "zits", that were all around my print. Turns out you're exactly correct...each of these "zits" was the result of that quick pause to write the current layer data to memory in the event of a power failure so when the power came back on, it would know where it left off when the power went out. Excellent idea, in theory, but it impacted everything I printed. I turned that option off in the gcode, and voila! No more zits! Perfectly smooth. You earned my subscribe for making that very point! Tom, I Cannot Thank You Enough for this video! My son turns 14 on Monday and I had to build and set up the Ender V2 Neo for his birthday present. He has created his own board game and is wanting to print figures for the game. You video is very detailed and helps the viewer new to the hobby understand the printer top to bottom. I knew all this... or so I thought, as I'd watched your previous vids, but wow, this is better than your previous setup on the original Ender 3v2. Loads here that applies to most printers, not just the model specified. I'd recommend this as an excellent starter for anyone. Thanks for such a clear and concise vid.
Setting up my very first 3D printer today, an Ender 3 V2 Neo. Thanks to you and your awesome video, I was able to add the G code to turn Power Loss off while setting up Creality Slicer. Thank you!!
So, I love your videos. Live by them and share them with anyone I've gotten into 3-D printing. I'm only at 24:39 in your video now where you are talking about power loss auto recovery and you say it's not that great. I have to disagree on this model. That steel flex printing bed has the best adhesion I have found yet. I went to sleep two nights ago and lost power right after. Woke up the next morning and found the thing ten hours into a 24 hour print and turned off and it was still firmly affixed to the print bed. Turned the printer back on and it finished the print beautifully. I keep having issues with the nozzle temperature and my last 26 hour print stopped about five times and I kept turning it back off and on and it came out fine once more because the way my prints actually stick to this bed. Either way, It's been a life saver for me. And I think this video is going to fix my nozzle issue. I am about to go check and make sure all the wires are firmly tightened down to the mother board. Thank you for that! And keep up the great videos and great STLs.

If you are looking for an entirely flat surface ... try your Ceran-Glass cooking plate in your kitchen - if available ... or place a large mirror on a table.
That adds too much mass for detail printing, best option is spring-steel PEI or G-10 sheet.

Nice video! I just got my printer set up following Creality's own setup video and printed out a perfect test boat... However, finer details like the tensioning of the wheels and belts weren't explained at all in their materials!
Still need to goo back and check out the wheels and other tensions later, thank you very much for the info!

I use the guitar tuning phone app method for adjusting belt tension, it works fairly well. A lot of math has been worked out for the specific frequency the belts should sound like when plucked on an ender 3, and I'm assuming there's not been any major changes to the frame lengths on the Neo series so the exact numbers should likely match. It's so easy for people to over-tighten the belt tensioning knobs, there's no resistance at all. I've seen people snap the belts instantly, even after having been warned how easy it is to over-tighten.

Thanks for the G-Code about how to turn power loss off. I've been hearing that having it enabled causes issues, but couldn't find anyway to turn it off on my V2 Neo, until today.

I just received my first 3D printer and used your video. Thanks, but I am curious if anyone can explain for me, when storing configuration, it doesn't appear to do anything. It just beeps at me 2/3 times like an error or something.

brilliant video, thankyou for this setup info.. i have taken your advice and changed the bowden coupler and installed new ptfe tube and nozzle, i would like to print with TPU filament but i see no option for this in the ender 3 v2 neo menu. would i just use the PLA one ? thanks again for this video. subbed as well.
Stick with PLA for tabletop game minis and terrain, TPU won't work well for those type models.

Can I still print abs and nylon or will I need to do some extra stuff to it? Thinking about a new hot end either way.
There's no reason to print at those temps for gaming terrain and miniatures, stick with PLA.

i got an ender 3 it says ender 3 neo.. i dont have color screen. i have blue and white screen and i dont have the dish thing under by the PSU...
This video is for the Ender-3 V2 Neo, not the standard Ender-3 Neo which is what it sounds like you received. Did you order the V2 or the standard Ender-3 Neo?
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors yeah you're totally right.. i wish i woulda realized sooner.. i now have an ender v2 3d laser easy shroud that does not fit my printer.. i worked so hard on it and long on it too redoing pieces i wasnt happy with and such.. such a disappointment.. honestly what upset me the most is my back hurtin after being bent over by my printer (literally lol) for like 6 and a half hours figuring out why my extruder base plate has 2 heat block insert thing that honestly just seem to cause me a lot of trouble lol.. i hope they're helping prevent issues for me too but idk. thanks for getting back to me so quickly

I did. My previous videos on the Ender 3 on up through the E3V2 all covered this info. My first Ender-3 V2 build video came out Aug 6, 2020.
Weird that extruder speed was 50 for me out of the box

Nothing immediately, but they should be checked periodically.
Hello, I arrived at this channel through the suggestion of the Fat Dragon Games website. I intend to print the scenarios they have for sale. I’m from Brazil and plan to buy a 3D printer. There are two options within an affordable price range for me: the Creality Ender 3 Neo and the Ender 3 V3 SE. Both have similar prices, but I’m unsure about their differences. Could you suggest one of them or let me know why I should avoid either? Thank you! 😊
I have both and like both. The Neo is better if you also wish to use .2mm nozzle to print miniatures, but it requires a little more maintenance due to the bowden tube feed. The V3 SE is easier to maintain, but won't print miniatures as well.
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors I intend to use a resin printer to print miniatures. But since the Neo is capable of printing miniatures on it, it really seems like the best option to me. When you say that the Bowden tube feed needs more maintenance, what are you referring to-replacement or cleaning? Thanks

Bad mainboard (mosfet), it needs to be replaced.

There is nothing called "better bed springs" solid bed is one thing that improves overall print quality.

Regarding the eccentric nuts (ua-cam.com/video/I2U-C7-CiYE/v-deo.html); For a newbie (like me) the process is not entirely clear. Should the wheels turn, but the carriage not move? What if the wheel that I'm physically trying to turn, does not turn? Does this indicate too tight tension on the eccentric nut? :D
You should be able to turn the wheel with two fingers and effort, but the carriage not move. If you cannot turn the wheel without the carriage moving the wheel is too tight. :)
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors as another noob who loves this video I think you should have also said "while holding the moveable part stationary with the other hand" I can see you doing this in the video but you never say it. Obviously it would be super loose if it didn't move without holding it but us noobs are often really dumb :-)
