Has anyone ever considered the lifecycle of a periodical cicada? In the US, they famously have developmental periods of 13 years and 17 years depending on the species. It’s been 11 years and 9 years since the first Cicada 3301 posts. Maybe we just need to be patient like they said.

But their last couple albums have created a sort of allegorical dystopian ARG with easter eggs in the lyrics and a pretty deep lore regarding 9 bishops who rule over the Zoroastrian-inspired city of Dema, the captives they keep inside to practice the worship Vialism, and the banditos who must escape through Trench and band together on the Outside.
Someone actually did do this back in 2004. It was called Neurocam, a youtuber called Barely Sociable did a really good video on it if you wanna learn more.
It’s interesting to think that the person (or people) who made Cicada are very probably alive right now, and may have even watched this video. It’s funny to think that somebody out there knows the whole story.

assuming it's from the real cicada...why would anyone think that YES is the correct answer? Think about it. Of course they absolutely do NOT believe information should be free. They identified themselves as an international group concerned about individual PRIVACY and want intelligent ppl good at breaking codes presumably who will be good at creating secure codes. Theyre in the SECURITY business (whether biz or gov). The question weeds out those who say yes.
See they knew to ask because 1. they know ppl playing the game, the ones with the skills they want, have been sharing info.2. It's common and well known trope that code breaker hacker types generally are on the political side of information being free, to varying degrees.
So after passing the intellectual/skill test, now you have to pass the values alignment test too.
So they need to weed those ppl out, those ppl would likely NOT agree with whatever is Cicada does...maybe it has to do with the protection of intellectual property. You're supposed to answer No. I have no idea why narrator assumed the opposite, but its leading us to think about it the wrong way instead of what just makes sense based on what we know. It seems pretty obvious because they defined their purpose as privacy. AND they were Very clear about NOT being hackers. They are not looking for chaotic good type ppl. They looking for lawfuls.
