Wheat export wheat and rice which are highly water required crops. If we grow oil seed which required very less water then we can not only save water but also become independent in edible oils.
India's food security has been badly damaged in the last 10 years due to anti-farmer government policies.
India is famous for street food and without edible oil it's not possible..so obviously import High 😢...why we can't produce ourselves 😔

Just list out the commodities which we import in bulk, find out the domestic alternative, incentives the producers to increase the production and ensure the supply is made to the market in the upcoming quarters
We have to find a way to increase production organically and we should use cold pressed oil, which is healthy and would provide an exta income stream for oil seed farmers (if they produce oil)

We can produce more coconut oil given fact that we have a large coast line. Also Rice bran oil can be increased. Gov needs to reduce support price for Wheat and rice and increase support price for oil seeds.

I think there is not issue of production, there is issue of consumption.
