    What is the point in showcasing pressure washers without actually turning them on and using them.

    I got a Sunjoe SPX1000 for free through work and couldn’t deal with the 20ft hose so I got a thread conversion to the standard and then quick disconnect fittings and a 50ft hose. Makes it way more versatile!

    on your sun joe do you like the hose reel or would u recomend getting it without the hose reel and jsut a normal plastic hook for the hose? they sell em for 50 bucks more to upgrade to the hose reel

    I was looking at the motors and the Westinghouse has a 13 amp motor and the sun joe 14.5 amp. How does that make a difference? it seems like a higher wattage would make a difference. I am trying to decide between these two.

    Darren, nice to see that new model out. Question-1, does the pressure line fit both the SunJoe and it or does the Westinghouse use the standard 22x14mm?
    Question-2, will the new unit work off a portable generator or do you use the customer's power?

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  4 роки тому +2

      Each machine have their own dedicated outlet supply hoses. I didn't even try to see if they are interchangeable. Myself, I just plug into the power source of wherever I am at. The less I have to listen to a generator, the better.

    Sorry. I am a mechanical Engineer and I need to correct something you said. If you use your pressure washer and a regular hose for the same period of time, your water consumption is the same. There is no reduction on water usage.
    You can search on the internet for "Equation of Continuity".

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 4 роки тому +2

      It is common knowledge that pressure washers save water - everything Darren said is correct. Try this experiment - using ONLY your hose, adjust the flow rate to match Darren's pressure washer. Using that flow rate, see whether you can do any useful work with that little dribble coming out of the hose. (use whatever nozzle you like)

    • @CCOIMBRA01
      @CCOIMBRA01 4 роки тому

      @@gregsullivan7408 pressure machine probably save water because they are more effective than a regular hose. But like I said, if you use both "equipments" per the same amount of time.... There is no reduction on water consumption.
      I agree that the pressure washer can save water... But it will depend of how long you use it compared to the regular hose.

    • @MyGuyKirby
      @MyGuyKirby 4 роки тому +2

      @@CCOIMBRA01 In theory, but you forget the PW unit has a limitation of only able to produce 1.2GPM (per vendor) yet for the water hose opening it to an open flow it will have more than the 1.2 GPM possible. Yes, if I choke down the valve I could make them the same but then the PW would not perform per specs, it requires more inlet to produce that target volume.

    • @gregsullivan7408
      @gregsullivan7408 4 роки тому +1

      @@CCOIMBRA01 you are beginning to understand why a pressure washer saves water. You said it yourself - the pressure washer is more effective. So, FOR THE SAME FLOW RATE, the pressure washer will do more work than a hose, for the same amount of time. That means that with a hose, the user will do one of two things - they will increase the flow rate, or they will use the hose for longer. Either way, they will then use more water than with a pressure washer. (I'm assuming of course that it is actually possible to achieve sufficient pressure with the hose - often it will not be, and in that case there is simply no comparison - the job can't be done with a hose)
      Now, it's a different story for tasks that don't require much pressure, and are better achieved by high water volume. I'm thinking rinsing a car might be an example. In these cases, a pressure washer may not save any water, or at least, not save as much. (I doubt that it would use more water, but I'm not sure).

      The water consumption would not be the same. If a hose is used for an hour at 8GPM, in an hour's time the water consumption would be 480 gallons, vs the pressure washer's consumption at 1.76 GPM, which would be a water consumption of 105.6 gallons for the hour

    In the long run a gas pressure washer is better, you’ll go through 3+ electric before your gas ⛽️ one dies on you, plus the gas one is repairable, electric ones once they die they die 🤷🏻‍♂️
