- Dr. Muneeb Shah @Doctorly has finally announced the first product launch of his line, Remedy Skin. Today I take a first look at the three products included in the initial launch and give my opinion on them. The long anticipated skincare launch includes three products. Remedy for Dark Spots, Remedy for Pore Size, and Remedy for Dry Lips.
We will explore the packaging, the ingredients, and the pricing. While these products are a bit more expensive than products from the Inkey List or The Ordinary, it's important to note that these are really designed to be an all-in-one solution that covers many steps of a skincare routine.
Important points about each product. They are all fragrance free, cruetly free, and do not contain many common allergens or irritants. Dr. Shah has clearly been very thoughtful and intentional with the product formulation here.
Lastly, I leave you with my predictions for what the brand is likely to release next.

Definitely ordering the dark spot corrector but wished the pore size didn’t have retinol so I could use it during the day
Received the Remedy for Dark Spots and have used it the last three nights. There has been no irritation whatsoever and I am the poster child for sensitive skin. Hopefully I will see improvement in my hyperpigmentation. I am optimistic!

I have been using Agency for one year at $45.00 a month now they are going up in price to $80.00 a month which is out of my price range. I ordered the dark spot corrector and lip balm upon release. Love the lip balm before bed. I’m easing into the dark spot corrector but so far it’s been great on my very sensitive, dry skin.
Excited to see what Dr. Shah will come up with! I love watching you guys! Maybe a moisturiser will be launched for the “Protect” category! No one has time for FDA clinical trials!!

I ordered the lip balm and somehow got the dark spot cream for free bc I double checked and I didn’t order but I def have been using both. The lip balm is great and I don’t have to reapply all day. The packaging for the dark spot cream is so cool
Ive commented on his videos that I hope they can launch versions without retinol for those of us that use Tretinoin already, hope to see that!

He recently sent an email to subscribers that answered that question! In cases such as yours, he recommends alternating tret nights with dark spot nights. But I can understand those who don't want to reduce their tret frequency.

I really enjoyed this product. It's a simple all in one. There is not a strong smell or odor. My skin is literally glowing with all of the things I learned from the videos. I wake up with my skin glowing and soft and smooth. I have very sensitive skin and this absolutely does not irritate it. I will be ordering my second bottle soon. I wish I could show how much my skin had improved! Please take a chance and buy this product. Also please remember to wear sunscreen during the day to protect your skin! ❤

Been using the lip balm for a couple days now and it's really a great product. Things I like: (1) The balm is thicker than expected and doesn't feel like it's gone quickly. But, it's still very smooth. (2) It doesn't require a lot of frequent reapplication. (3) The moisturizing happens very quickly.

It’s not formulated specifically as an eye product, so I think you could run the risk of irritation there

I have acne prone, sensitive, skin with melasma on cheeks, forehead and I also hyperpigment easily from any breakouts on nose/chin because I'm tan/olive complected. I use low strength (.02%) tretinoin from Agency along with other ingredients Agency puts in to help my issues and I use their dark spot formula and Benzoyl peroxide on chin only in the AM.
I'm considering trying one of his 2 retinol products instead of my retinoid, as I love the all in one idea instead of 2 products at night that are pretty expensive. Not sure if the Dark Spot one would be powerful enough for my breakouts or if the Pore Size one would help enough with my pigment?
If anyone has advice or experience, I'd love to hear it.
Can someone on low dose accutane use these?
I was told that retinol should be yellow. And if a retinol cream isn’t yellow, it isn’t strong enough to do much. Can you address that?
I am 65 and use a stronger percentage retinal already. I use MEDIK8 1% and have recently added a 2% retinal. Can these be added also because the retinol percentage is very low?
You may want to alternate nights with this product just to not overdo the retinol in one night.

Since the pore minimizer and dark spot corrector are both used at night, can they be used the same night and in what particular order?
On the video on his page he stated that really you should only use one or the other since they both have retinol unless you are only applying to different areas on the face
I wouldn’t use both, just one or the other, depending on your main concerns, if you feel like you need both, I would alternate nights

I think for tan lines you just need to wait more time.
Does using retinol thin out your skin and break down your skin barrier if it's used daily? My cousin has sensitive skin, and she is also a pharmacist in China.
Good question, retinol actually doesn't thin the skin, but sometimes causes irritation when you first start using it. I have a video coming out soon about some of these retinol myths.

I wish it wasn't plastic single use packaging we need to be able refill which are also free of plastic or fully recycle them. These will just end up in landfill.
The packaging is designed to preserve and protect the product.
Nobody wants to have products that would lose it's potency shortly after purchasing it.
True but also i remember Krave Beauty talked about how glass packaging is too heavy and ends up making a worse impact on the environment since it requires more fuel emissions to transport in bulk? Something like that. Maybe this is similar bc ik Dr. Shaw is pretty conscious of stuff like that

Dr, Shaw talks about how he can't use Vit C and thinks its overrated and irritating so I'd be shocked if that was a product he makes.

I think that would be fine to alternate nights if you want to use a stronger retinol on the other nights.

With all the numerous other regulations & mandates on many skin care actives in the EU/UK/CA I predict some products won’t be able to be sold outside the U.S. They’d probably have to reformulate hence going back to square one. 😢
