We did your route 30 yrs ago, brought my tent, he proposed, married in Banff, justice of the peace then the guy played 'soccer', hubby 'football' nut was thrilled! Scotland lost yest I heard but we live in Pointe-Claire and there's a street called Urquhart near me, google pic of our community center Stewart Hall! Josée, I loved seeing French writting on castles as I didn't know they'd banded together!
We've actually been to Banff, Alberta but didn't make it to Banff, Scotland. We did, however, drive through Calgary, Scotland on our way to Calgary Bay, Scotland on the island of Mull (also in an upcoming video) so we can say we've been to Calgary, Alberta and Calgary, Scotland. Interesting that you have an Urquhart street. Yes, the Scottish and French banded together a bit in the past so there's an intertwined history there. Thanks for watching and we hope you'll subscribe and stick around for more videos from our trip! We made a loop around the middle of Scotland and there's plenty more to come!
@RaymondoLeeTravel hard to imagine what it would have been like to witness the onslaught, or worse yet, be on the receiving end of an attack. Thanks for watching!
Love this - I haven't visited Urquhart Castle for many years but it has always been an evocative place, especially when the mists are swirling around as when you guys visited. Inverness is a place we must get back to. Your Air BnB was really in the backstreets there. Very cool. Looking forward to the next stage guys
Yes, the mist hanging around the castle and low over the loch when we first arrived was an iconic look. It made quite the view. We enjoyed the AirBnB in Inverness too. Only one block up from the river, close to the Infirmary Bridge. That was a very lovely walk up past the Ness Bridge to the Grieg Street Bridge and back that evening. Thanks for watching and following along! We've been enjoying your trip videos as well and figuring out where you were in relation to us at the time.
@@OldHouseOnTheCorner i think we were quite close on Mull at one stage? The trip across to Pitlochry was on our third week away. Just checked - we were in Pitlochry on 15th May. I think you were travelling in sort of the opposite direction to us. But on Mull we just missed each other! Hoping to get back to Scotland soon!!
@@NBNatureTrailvan yes, I believe I figured out that we were landing in Craignure when you guys were leaving Tobermory. So close and yet so far! It would have been fun to run into you guys! On May 15th, we were actually in Edinburgh, staying just a stone's throw off the Royal Mile.
Hi, I've been there, my mother in law was from Carradale, Scotland, south of Cambeltown, I've been 3 times even took the kids, Joyeuse St-Jean from Montréal! Xox
Hi Joyeuse and welcome to our channel! Thanks for stopping by and leaving us some comments! We thought about driving down to Campbeltown but ended up not going and only drove to Tarbert (which you'll see in an upcoming video).
Wow! The scenery is so gorgeous. It makes me want to visit even more. It looks like y'all had a great time. I am so glad y'all got to experience this!
@AtHomeWithKari yes, it was very gorgeous. We had so much fun visiting and wish we could have stayed longer. Glad you're enjoying it!
