Let's Walk Through Dunstaffnage Castle & Chapel - Old House On The Corner - Ep #159
In our latest video, we take you on a literal walkthrough of Dunstaffnage Castle and its accompanying chapel nearby. We'll also see Barcaldine Castle, where we spent two nights during our first week in Scotland, and then later we'll catch a glimpse of the port of Oban, the seafood capitol of western Scotland. We hope you enjoy this longer than average video that completes the rest of our fourth day in Scotland, which was May 7th.

    • @OldHouseOnTheCorner

    • @OldHouseOnTheCorner
      @OldHouseOnTheCorner 21 годину тому

      @scottwhite2043 the "p" was added hundreds of years ago and is an English spelling. The original spelling and pronunciation is without the "p" and sounds more like CAM-BULL.

    Fascinating place. Love hearing the history of the Campbell clan And looking forward to your vid on Culloden - a place that I have visited a couple of times and which always makes me stand in awe at the atmosphere of that place. Thanks for sharing guys

      Thanks, Mark! Glad you enjoyed the videos! There's PLENTY more of our Scotland trip coming so stay tuned. 😊👍 Yes, we (or I, Dale) drove so we could set our own schedule and go to our own destinations. If you're a confident driver, I'd highly recommend it. I had fun. Scotland has been on my bucket list for 40+ years so I'm sure you'll get there. You'll love the scenery. Our cameras will never do justice to seeing it in person! ❤️

      😆 I (Dale) was fine and had fun. Claudine? Not so much. LOL! Stay tuned for more. The single track roads get more "interesting", especially when we catch the ferry out to the Isle of Mull! And also when we come down the hill into the medieval town of Culross. 😉👍

    So the gates that you see on the drive what the reason for the ones that go across the road that you were traveling on for

    • @OldHouseOnTheCorner
      @OldHouseOnTheCorner Місяць тому

      They're to keep livestock in a particular section. You'll notice there's quite often a cattleguard embedded in the road near the gates as well.

      Yes, they are definitely an exciting part of our Scotland experience... although one of us wasn't enjoying them quite as much... LOL! Beautiful country! Can't imagine driving them in a motorhome. That must have been something!
