  • In this Range Report I get some range time with the Glock 44. When this pistol hit the market it was claimed to be the most reliable .22 pistol in production with Glock's "perfection" and reliability. Does it meet all the hype? As always, these videos document my personal opinions and experiences. Yours may vary.

i love my 44. great for training especially if you want to run drills on the cheap. the tx22 is probably still the best 22lr pistol out there, but i run a 19 as my edc. after the break in where i had a good amount of problems, it's run like a champ.

I just think that anything chambered in 22 will always have inherent issues.

I've had my 44 for about a year. I'm not sure about it being the "most reliable .22 ever." It can run reliably though if you clean it regularly. 40 grain ammo seems to help a great deal too. For those of you who want to EDC the Glock 19, the 44 is a good idea as it's the same frame/same size.

Good morning, Jason, I went the TACSOL Glock Conversion Kit, and its works for me. Cheers

Thank you for verifying that it was defective ammo and that the hammer striker was not at fault. And thank you for bringing up the spacer issue. That is good to know.

I don't regret buying mine from my local gun shop. If it came down to it, my 44 would be my choice to survive on. Believe me I've stocked up on plenty of ammunition.

I think if you have the right ammo with this pistol, it is extremely reliable and a lot of fun to shoot.

i own 2 of them and they run great. one has a nelson precision optic cut slide and recoil rod and a holosun 507C. it runs on any .22 ammo for me. i have thousands of rounds through it as i am a weekly high round count shooter.

Note! The g44 with stock front sight shoots 5" high at 50ft. Turns out the front sight needs to be .49mm call glock to get propert front sight height.

Glock 44 is a very cool gun. Take it to the range and everybody new to guns wants to use it.

Low left is due to sqeezing grip while pulling trigger. Left is caused by pad of finger not being centered on trigger. To remedy this your dominent hand needs to be relaxed while dominent hand does the actual gripping

@@thetexasgunvaultwhen o first bought mine the trigger was 7lbs. After 300 rounds and switching to a wolf 5lb stroker spring it's perfect 5lb trigger pull

i use farrowtech aluminum striker sleeves in mine and they are indestructible !! glock customer service isn't glock perfection for sure. they would rather make you buy the complete striker assembly..

I notice that every other round shot the slide would come all the way back and other shots the slide would hardly move it looked like... why could that be? Ammo? I'm thinking about getting this model myself for the wife and kids to get into shooting.

I have one.. as long as when you load the mag turn it upside down and relieve the pressure with loafing btabs and you should have no issues.. i believe that's it's owners manual.. i like mine so much I might get a second one

36-40 grain 1200 or greater fps ammo never fails in this gun. From my experience, I only have issues when using subsonic, or really fast 32 grain.

Guy says a Sig Sp2022 felt cheap , which weighs 29 ounces unloaded and has a lot of steel in its polymer body, and then says a Glock doesn’t feel cheap lmao

    • @thetexasgunvault

From the perspective of what it is. For a .22lr pistol it doesn't feel cheap. You need to think about context.

@@albertreade7607 I have to agree. I have a Jennings 22 that runs great (replaced all springs, extractor) I bought as a bucket list item, to replace one I had years ago when you could buy them fir 49 bucks, also a S&W Model 32 kit gun in 22lr, it's an awesome pistol, and lastly my G44. IMHO it does not feel cheap. It's the normal feeling i get from any polymer pistol. Mainly since i grew up using all steel pistols. When the G17 popped up in a shooting that happened in my state the Glock was a hot cake. I bought the only model available at the time which was a G17 and was sold on the Glock brand since. As for the G44 I'm amazed at the quality Glock put in the pistol. Because it is actually a Glock design, not made by some other company that normally makes 22's. It's been reliable, and most fun to shoot. It's led me to looking at purchasing a G19. My EDC is a G43 with +2 Taren Tactical mag ext. But by shooting and carrying my G44 my thought of the G19 being to big has changed. As for reliability, all of my 22's have failed to fire at times. Even the kit gun and my 22 rifles. It's just the nature of the beast in using 22lr.
      Thank you for your video.
