What a fabulous tool! Thank you! i am a surface pattern designer and discovering some seamless tiles I have created aren't so seamless is frustrating and time consuming. Just by a stroke of luck found your video. Thank you so much!! After 3 tries I got a few that worked, woohoo! I will be letting all my compadres know :)
Thank you so much for this video. I am finally able to create high quality seamless textures a project I have been working on intermittently for over a year. A couple of things I'd like to add. Materialize often does not do a good job of tiling the height map even though all the others are perfect. Even when you do get a decent height map out of it the image is limited to 8 bits which leads to obvious artifacts when used in Blender. The easiest work-around for the first issue is just don't use the generated height map. Many textures are fine without it. If you want a height map create one just to get to the tiling process. Tile the texture. Go back into Show Full Material. Delete the current height map and create a new one based on the new diffuse image. Make sure to save everything as png files. To fix the 8-bit problem load the texture into Gimp. Select Image/Precision/16-bit integer. Select Blur/Tileable Blur with a radius of 15. File/Export the resulting image as a png file. Happy Blending.
Your tutorials are AWESOOOOOME!!!! Thank you extra for this! Still learning about texture maps and came across this vid, and it literally saved my rendering life. Keep rocking Justin, your content is the greatest! :)
Thank you so much for these tutorials! You made everything so simple and easy to follow for someone that only just discovered this kind of software existed. I've not bothered looking into it until now because I assumed I would need photoshop. So when I did look into it and found Materialize I was excited but daunted at the idea of again learning a new program. But you made it so simple and within 20 minutes I now have a seamless shag carpet texture. It's not perfect but it's good enough for what I need it for. I am so grateful and will definitely continue to watch your videos! 🥰
Been learning so much from how to use this programme, and understanding the different aspects and it has been really very clear and easy to follow in the instructions. Having a technical issues that post manipulation the bmp image files are being shown as black even though in the programme they are clear? Is this something that you might be able to cover in a short video, of What to do "if that happens if X or Y happens or doesn't happen, what to do"? i am sure that I am not the only one who wishes we could just turn around to ask as we would a teacher! Thanks again for doing so many amazing videoes Justin!
Is there a program that does this but ALSO lets you paint pixels? These programs try to do too much with tiling....but what if I want to hand paint my seamless tiling bitmaps whilst seeing the multi-tile version update real-time? Any way to do this? Thanks!
Is there a way to invert the normal map? I noticed the bricks were setting in instead of out in the materialize viewport. It just looked backward to me... maybe not, lol.
For me, the video speeds up at 2:27 for just a moment, making it impossible to see what's being clicked on in the Normal Map dialog box, unless I change the video speed.
sometimes this program wont save the edited texture. In sketchup when i applied the texture it still looks like the original one. it happen with random stone pattern. So i guess there is no easy way to make seamless texture
Hi there! Love your vids! What’s the best was to remove repeating bricks and make it look more random. Clients have selected a recycled brick and the image I have shows a very clear repetition. Any help would be appreciated 😊
It's literally the exact same process - import material, create maps, adjust texture mapping. You're going to approach any material exactly the same way...
doesntttttttttt worrkkkkkkk AGAIN NOT A SINGLE TUTORIAL WORKSSSSS I WATCHED EVERY TUTORIAL WASTED HOURS NOPE THE PROGRAM REFUSES TO OPEN ANYYTHINGGGGGGG I TRIED ERVERY IMAGE ON MY COMPUTER IT REFUSES TO OPEN ANYTHINGGGG
Thank you very much for this app, it is priceless, but also useless according animal wallpaper, or I haven´t figure it out yet. I needed seemless jungle wallpaper and just one tip for all guys, who don´t have Photoshop- I just added approx 15 exact same pictures I needed to Powepoint, connected them when for example tail was missing and voila- you use snipping tool and have seamless texture.
I don't understand what this means - it's priceless but also worthless? The whole point of this is you just load in an image, adjust some sliders, and you get all the PBR maps seamlessly...
@@TheRenderingEssentials I meant that it is very good app, if you need to adjust bricks, stones, etc. But when I tried it with jungle wallpaper - leafs, birds, etc... And it didn't match together at all. I needed part of wallpaper higher to connect the whole animal, or leaf... But if you make tutorial for some of those patterns, it will be appreciated.

No clue on this one
Great video! Thought it would take me a lot longer to learn Seamless Texturing.

when clicking save project it only lets me save an mtz file

if it appears backwards, in Photoshop you can invert your green channel and itl sort it out.

Thank you very much for the tutorial!
Some super helpful tips cheers for your effort 👌🏼
No problem 👍
Is the Roughness map the same as the height map?
is materialize still working for people? i'm having problems with it not saving the files i create??
Hi , is there any tutorials about using substance designer to create seamless texture and how to put into sketch up v Ray? Thx
Thanks man!
Very good tool.
Glad it helped!
Wow, kick ass! Thanks for this info, super useful.
Swift and clear , very nice Q:What will be a method to import material created in Materialize app to unity asset?
for some reason i can't import any textures in it
same here

How can I modify the display size to fit my screen, because I can't see the option to save my work when I'm done materialising ?
It's a hp laptop
No clue - try adjusting your desktop resolution? Maybe change your display scaling? I haven't had this issue so I'm guessing
What is an edge map?
won't we get copyright issues if we use random images from google?
extremely unlikely, except if you use the texture of a big compagny such as nitendo or smt like this. I guess.
Can I please know how do we create bump map in Materialize?
Thanks for sharing this video
can you help me ... how do i pass a texture created in materialize a ray 5 ....... thanks
I don't understand. A texture created in Materialize is just an image. You load it just like you would any other texture
