Just don't pre-order games full stop. I never have, never will. What's the perk? It's not like you have to wait for it to be in stock at a local store nowadays, use the E-store. The only perks for pre-ordering are the perks they've superficially conjured up alongside making the game in the first place, basically dedicating dev time solely for the early sales as opposed to dedicating that time to just making the base game better.

@@kennwan9917not true. I preordered Elden ring $60 and it came with a great game, an exclusive poster, and a ring. That was the first time I preordered a game and it was 100% worth it. But I would also recommend not preordering from companies that release garbage consistently.
last BF I preordered was BF1 which was a great game. I bought BFV when it was discounted and still regret it. the only games I preorder which isn't many is games I know will get my monies worth. RE4 remake is a good example.
From EA's statement I can already see 500 players, Two tornadoes, Bad Maps, 18+ weapons at launch, No server browser and the Specialist again...
no chat on launch, no control over your squad, no ability to stick with your squad if you enjoyed playing with them, no map voting, bad map rotation, no cover, no scoreboard 🙄 here we go again!

If I was in charge there would be a checklist of ALL of the things that must be in the game and it can not release until everything on that list is in the game DAY ONE.

Veteran player here in age😢and experience of BF, I’m not expecting a lot and certainly not pre ordering, give me an updated version of BF3/4 and I’d be happy. No cosmetics they’re just so pointless and please can we choose a server in the general game, don’t mention specialists you only need four classes.

I guess there aren't enough of us old vets to make it worthwhile for EA. They just want dumb kids on their consoles to buy skins with daddy's credit card. Those dumb kids on consoles also dilute the teamplay and make the game less enjoyable as well.

The game is already dying faster than most AAA games I've played or seen. Really wouldn't suprise me if the next doesn't get as many sales.

The more I hear EA talk about the game, the more scared I get as they already said the "exact" same things about 2042. I hope Delta Force can save us all!

This statement made me very worried for the next battlefield. We don't want anymore "ambitious projects". It didn't turn out so great last time. They have literally learned nothing. Delta force isn't doing anything super ambitious, look how popular that game is. I'm personally not pre ordering the next BF. I just got so burned last time, I can't justify doing it again.
Yeah, dont reinvent the wheel, just do your thing right and execute it well, DFHO might not be BF3 or 4, but its the closest we will get, assuming that the other maps will be as good as the ones from the technical test.

The last Battlefield I played over 1k hours was BF1.
BFV I pre-ordered and instantly regretted it.
BF2042 I bought after 1 month of launch and haven't played it at all since a year now. I miss the old days of BF 4 and BF1.

Been playing a lot of BF1 on Xbox lately. Pretty easy to get into conquest or operations. Having so much fun with it again.
Unique ability to listen but not do anything and give us half the content in total, as one dic from bf4, 1, or whatever. Plus all the things they did that showed they don’t care.
2042 has more content than bf4

BF will go the same way like NFS. I loved NFS in the early 2000s, I don't even know the current NFS and in the race game area it has disappeared into insignificance.
Charms, skins, and outfits are not content. Do not, repeat, do NOT pre-order the next game.
The live service model has never worked in battlefield imo. 1 map per season is not acceptable. The last decent game, had premium DLC. Its gone downhill since then.

I've been playing BF since 2002, yes I'm old . EA has been putting investors so far in front of the actual game for a whole now. The community is full of trepidation for the next title and saying its going to be their most ambitious project ramps that up. I really hope they don't rush out a half finished game again, I never pre order any game anyway, it's not like a GPU they won't sell out.

Updating the older Battlefield games works for me. But it’s not the games that need fixing but the management.

I am not buying this Battlefield 6. 2042 was supposed to be their most ambitious Battlefield game ever made with biggest development team behind it. "All hands on deck" they said. "Ahead of schedule" they said. Then to learn that its foundation was a scrapped battle royale game with only a year of development was the biggest kick in the face to Battlefield fans. Fuck that.
They tried to do too much at once and thats what killed it
Nothing surprises me at this point. They have driven BF players away and have burned the Bridge of Trust. Statements on that message are simply delusional in trying somehow to get some of us back. Where there is no transparency, there is no trust. It seems they forgot who made them. It waz US-the players who made Battlefield.
As much as i used to love Battlefield, i feel like the title doesnt even exist amymore, i fell in love with the franchise with BF3 and just have no odea what happened to the franchise after Battlefield 1, they fell off so hard! They used to compete with COD every year and now their not even relevant... sad
It's bitter to see jaded titles and videos from content creators about EA, DICE and Battlefield franchise as a whole. But, you and other content creators have every right to. This is THEIR fault and THEY have to win back our trust with their actins, NOT words.

Let's clarify a few things
First of all stop gaslighting us EA stop calling battlefield 2042 anything but a dumpster fire. It was a dumpster fire when you released it and it's a dumpster now.
Secondly they are literally turning off the servers for battlefield 4 and battlefield 3 in November of this year you won't even be able to play them on multiplayer so what are they talking about like they care about the community.

Come on, I've heard the same thing since BF 4. People say "Don't preorder blah blah blah" but then the next awesome trailer comes and people forget everything that has happened. What we learn from history is that people doesn't learn from history...
I'll believe it when I see it as simple as that, and I'm not talking about a good-looking trailer either.
They won't deliver anything other than another over-monetised live service game with bright colours and dumb chaos for the drop-in-drop-out players who will buy a skin or two, and a season pass or two. They don't care as long as the microtransactions make money.
The biggest takeaway from any earnings call is that they're trying to sell the game to investors. Not players.
Battlefield died with Battlefield V, then was beaten with a stick for 2042. Unless you're a CoD kid with mommy's credit card, just give up on the franchise.
There are 2 or 3 games that have already surpassed BF. If i was Wilson I'd show the board what PUBGs numbers are like in Asia and go from there to seriously make a PUBG competitor. They have the resources, the mtx experience and the know-how for a decent gunplay.

I have even less confidence now than I did before watching this. From someone that has been playing BF since BF1942 I can say that I am NOT one of those excited community members. EA is in a fantasy world.
This game has been more or less dead on console for like two years. Dice has a massive potential in the console players if the at least somewhat prioritize gameplay here.

In the PS store, I was able to pick up BF2042 on the cheap by Christmas the year it launched. I think about $20 maybe $30. Do not pre-order. Don't even buy on release unless you're a content creator and it will pay for itself.
The fact that they didn't add all Portal weapons to 2042 is DISGUSTING.
All they did in 2042 is take everything away. First, I had to choose a character instead of a role. I went primarily with McKay, 50 cal, aa. I could take on anything - troops, armor, air. Then they assigned characters to roles and no more McKay and aa. I adjusted, but once C5 was reduced from 3 to 2, I was completely done with this game and franchise, which I had supported since 1942. Current devs are a disgrace.
I am confused as to why they don't make their own FTP BR sort of game (perhaps take some inspiration from Helldivers, but instead of planets to liberate, make it some sort of zones in a world map), and then sell the normal game alongside it with the more traditional format

Go back to how battlefield was. Get rid of the specialists because why does battlefield need them. If anything the specialists made the game easier to play. Paik basically is a walking tug, Macky guaranteed headshot advantage, Sundance a flying jet/chopper.
We will get the first trailer a little ahead of next year's summer games fest. And everyone will go nuts and say it's the best they've ever seen. People forget so easily.
I love the Battlefield franchise but I won't get hyped again into pre-order only to have the beta or campaign 3 days early. This is no early access. It's late access for those who don't want to spend that more money.
Not only do not preorder the next Battlefield, but do not preorder any game in general. Preorders tie you economically with a product that is not finished and may be a buggy mess for the first few months after release. Preorder bonuses are never worth that. Atm I'm hyped for Frostpunk 2, but even though I know 11 Bit Studios would never release anything below their standards I still won't preorder their game. I can buy it on day one after reading the reviews
Didnt watch the trailer but based on the experience there will be no preorder for me. The squadleader things - with the annoying sounds etc. - they forced the player to do made me drop the last game.
I had preordered 2042 when it was first available. played it for a week and realized it was no longer a true Battlefield game, I mean they got rid of the class system! I was able to successfully return it as defective.
I will never preorder a battlefield game ever again. I don't trust these suits. I'll stick to playing battlefield 4 on my PS5.
I’m getting tired of the proclamations of “we have the biggest team yet with ‘x’ amount of companies” and “this person is excited” because it all feels moot. You can have all the people in the world but if you push out a bad game because you “think” that’s what the community wants, it doesn’t matter.
Here’s to hoping there’s more transparency and some semblance of constructive conversation with content creators out of dice. But you know what they say, “hope in one hand, shit in the other. See which fills up first”

If any new BF approaches vehicle combat the same as 2042 again, I, and my entire community will not consider the game anyway. We are just tired of the horrendous helicopter mechanics vs infantry.
This is an interesting point that you brought. I always thought that EA was aiming to have a mediocre Battlefield release that gathers the greatest amount of disappointed players with the lowest amount of money. But you may be right that even if the next game is perfect, many players would still be afraid or unwilling to come back.
Sad 2042 turned me off completely for battlefield I grew up on 3,4 wth happened I know some of the old devs are currently working on the finals but damn I miss battlefield and this is just sad😢

The tone deafness of this statement is wild. BF2042 was very ambitious and by that metric a complete failure. Hazard Zone and Portal were horribly under utilized as well as all the large map assets that could have been subdivided into different game modes and smaller maps to boost the content.
maybe EA comes together with Activision and we can crossplay the colored funfair Cod together in an new univers of Battlfield. Thats waht i expect from theses super developer guys they dont give a sh** about the community!

thank you for this Cad, EA is good at marketing talk but execution is really bad, they shipped 2042 way too early to please their investors, what's to say they won't be doing the same thing yet again for the next battlefield, like you said Cad we all heard this before, now if they sell it astronomically to the people funding this, they have to deliver the soonest, lets hope DICE can turn this around and not be forced to release the game half baked

Of course, he's going to embellish and distort to make everything sound all gravy so that investors keep investing in EA with good hopes for the future.
You know they are right that I am excited about the next game. Excited to see how they manage to botch the launch yet again.
After I paid for the Ultimate version of the last Battlefield, I can say that I have absolutely no trust in EA, and I will never buy anything from them again. It was the biggest waste of money I ever made. One big scam.

Great summary. Not sure where they got the idea the community is energised. Pretty sure as you say that's marketing speak because if anything the last two games have killed off the community.. One thing is for sure. They need to deliver straight from the off with whatever comes next. The community isn't being quiet about what they want and if it's not delivered or falls short this time then it is possible they are done.
I can pretty much guarantee 95% of all people who hated BF2042, including all BF content creators, will have their 50 gallon crap bucks emptied and ready to go the moment the new game drops and will be playing non-stop.
