Not sure what episode / segment / clip it was in , but it was Dave and Rachel ... and Dave went on a long borderline rant that he called a speech when he was done saying it ... and Rachel just laughed and said something to the effect of "now you know what my childhood was like." 😂
I so love Dave Ramsey. I went through a very painful divorce many many many years ago and he is so right to say sell the house and just move on because every time you have to deal with your spouse over money or anything, oh my god, it opens up the wound every single time. How does Dave know and seem to understand this even though he's never been divorced. He not only says it exactly as it is in real life but really seems to understand, even though he's never been through it. You're a one off Dave!

AARON LAS VEGAS, NV “BAD DIAGNOSIS”…. You could check out Wahls Protocol by Dr Terry Wahls. She had MS so severe that she was in a gravity chair and is now living almost completely normal. It’s about healing your body at the molecular level. It has saved the life of a loved one of mine who also had a very very rare diagnosis that is typically only found postpartum. I hope you recover and have a healthy long life ❤
Listening for long periods is so true though. I try to listen to something from you daily. It help enforce my focus for the day as I am in my first few months. Also hearing advice and struggles relating to steps and issues I haven’t yet reached also gives me an inner /mental strength. I used to be surprised by paydays- just paying the normal bills. Now each payday is an exciting event! I pull out the budget/plan for the month and start paying off /down items. My next paycheck has all consumer debt paid! Soo excited 🎉

With the second caller, my husband and I went through this. After we got married, I wanted to make out wills and he kept skirting around the issue. I know a lot of people don’t like to think about death. I work in the healthcare field so I’ve been confronted with it so I’m a little bit more used to it and more comfortable talking about it. Well, my husband skirted around it for about eight years and then he was diagnosed with AML leukemia. So needless to say once he was diagnosed and admitted into the hospital, I spent the next two to three weeks running around like a crazy person getting our stuff in order. It was extremely stressful and nerve-racking! Everything that we had built, and worked so hard for was in danger, and we needed to protect it. You need to protect your assets. You need to make sure that you and your spouse have both of your names on everything! The deed of your Home, titles of your cars, all the accounts ….make sure each spouse knows all the passwords or knows where they are located and can access them. I had to make sure my husband’s pension papers were in order, even though he wasn’t thinking about retirement quite yet, but if something were to happen, I was entitled to a partial monthly benefit, upon his death. It doesn’t matter if you’re married! That’s not gonna cover you. It’s not gonna protect you from creditors, medical conglomerates, and even in-laws for coming after you for assets, properties, etc.. catastrophic illnesses, cost millions of dollars to treat you want to protect your loved ones if the unfortunate should occur, and someone is left behind. Thank God we got everything in order. After 18 months of a grueling battle, my husband did pass away, but my assets were protected and I wasn’t booted to the curb by anyone or for anything. I am so sorry you’re in this position. Make your plans so you can have peace of mind and focus on your health. You are also entitled to SSD Social Security disability. Make sure someone helps you with that. Utilize the social workers at the hospital to help get you on a fast track. Once you submit those papers it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get the checks rolling in on a monthly basis. You’ve paid into the system and now you need it so make sure you get it ! Sending out many prayers of faith, strength and restoration for you and your family.
My mom was a widow at 62 and remarried when she was 73. There were many counseling and talk sessions about money and Christian character before they got married. Hard workers and my mom has really helped my step dad learn to budget.

For Audrey - it’s not a family business if you don’t own it. All her family may work there, but it’s someone else’s business. It’s unfortunate that they are not doing well, but she needs to think of her own family and start building for her own future, and if she can’t do it there it’s time to move on. Like Dave said you give plenty of notice , you thank them for the time and the experience But you need to put your own family and your financial stability and future on the front burner. She’s carrying the burden of a potentially failing business, and she doesn’t own it. She’s young and has many years ahead of her. If she stays there for too long, she may regret it in the future. Now is the time to start building her foundation, and if she can’t do it off of the business owners and her position then she needs to move forward.

Aaron in Las Vegas can get life insurance by going to work for a company that offers group life insurance as a benefit. My last company offered it and it was portable: after I left I was able to covert it to a personal policy without having to qualify.
$117,000 in 14 months??? That’s over $8,000 a month…I don’t even make HALF of that a month 😅. Nvm dedicating that amount for just student loans. Good for them!
The social work caller could benefit from finding a HRSA employer that would pay off her student loans for a commitment for 3 years. Often the social worker need to have a LCSW but I know in recent years they are allowing MSWs to get that grant! I did this and I’m debt free!!
I'm an LICSW (in Washington State they add the "I" for independent for some reason). My student loans weren't large enough for me to commit to 10 years of working for the public service loan forgiveness, so I worked hard to pay it off fast. That was my situation. For many social workers, I highly recommend using that program!
It is kind of suspicious that the lady works parttime and already decided she would be a full time house-wife... At least go all in at work before you decide to become a fulltime housewife.
Roth distributions in retirement isn’t reported as income, therefore lowering your Medicare premium. And tax-free inheritance for your children. 2 big reasons to go Roth.

And took me a long time to leave because of the remaining staff and families. But, i had to go, and i gave them a month notice and trained and hired and filled all the spots before i left.
@ @31:24 married a month ago 25 y/o with $170k in savings. He got it here or there which means he won it or it was an inheritance. He knows how much Dave hates hearing about all the millionaires that inherited money.
Do you have to refinance a house if you can just throw an extra $1700 towards the principle payment each month? Especially seeing the interest rates are higher now? Essentially you will pay it off earlier anyway. Just a ?
I think Dave is suggesting once they pile up some cash, pay down the principal and recast/refi that loan, plus grow husband's income, their ratio will be closer to 25% before the baby arrives. It's not a good ratio today, but they can get there.
I wonder how much money in arrears Rachel’s husband owes her for child support. Go after this guy! Get the wages, garnished because this is a major ingredient of what’s keeping you stuck!
@@arh1234 I think its because he's unsure about the law in Canada when it comes to this scenario. You are 100% allowed to take all or any amount of money you want out of your RRSP (Registered retirement savings plan) in order to pay a down payment on your first home. I did it and i benefited greatly. The reason is, if you're putting down less than 20% on your first home purchase (minimum is 5%) a chunk of that down payment goes towards mortgage insurance. 500k house (which is considered very cheap here), 25K downpayment, roughly 18k will go to insurance. meaning your real down payment was only about $7000. If you can use some of your RRSP to get you above that 20% cut off you're avoiding that insurance fee all together and paying a lot less monthly.
@@Rome1017LightsThat is incorrect. The HBP limit is 35000. Past that, you are taxed at whatever your marginal rate is for the withdrawal year. Additionally, the downpayment itself is not applied to the mortgage insurance portion. That amount gets tacked on to the total loan amount. So a 25 L downpayment is exactly a 25 K downpayment.
The guy with possibly the rare muscular dystrophy really touched this heartless prison guard over here. Man ... what a roll of the dice (Snakeeyes)! Hope it turns out that he doesn't have it.
so agree with you all on her. I was trying to turn my captions on to make out what she said- because she appeared to go soft on spitting her shadiness out.
Am I the only one that thinks that Dave (and a lot of others) dance around the question, and talk about the situation more than provide an answer lately? That gentleman with the potential diagnosis had already processed the situation. He wanted to know what to do next. What is the "checklist" of things he should be making sure are checked off. (I assume figuring what kind of life insurance, if it's an option, what kinds of trusts or funds shud I set up, is the mortgage still a priority, etc.) And instead I think they just cheerleaded him to not give up even when he gets a proper diagnosis... which is great but, didn't really answer the question.
I thought they did, he said life insurance wasn't an option likely too late. Said he had quite the amount of money that they should be ok. But to stash money in case they need to fly somewhere for a treatment. And to prepare should his income change.
i guess the goal heading into retirement is no debt and owning your home and if both met you should be able to manage on SS along with a small savings would that be correct if your not a big spender.
Lol how would Jennifer would manage in my life, our income incredibly volatile, our expenses steadily increasing, cutting back? Cuts always come from the personal side

Dave makes the show 100% better because he is giving advice from a place of experience... his experience is what makes his advice authentic

The guy with possibly the rare muscular dystrophy really touched this heartless prison guard over here. Man ... what a roll of the dice (Snakeeyes)! Hope it turns out that he doesn't have it.

Shady business at best...that's why she didn't say what it was.
I was thinking the same lol "consulting"
so agree with you all on her. I was trying to turn my captions on to make out what she said- because she appeared to go soft on spitting her shadiness out.
I caught that too! Lol
Can’t imagine where that dodgy &175k came from…. 😅😅😅
I feel like a lot of the people who make dumb money decisions didn't grow up dirt poor.
What good is Money if you just look at it? My dad saved tons of money and died with it,never spending anything
I am in Europe. What does CPH stand for? 😊
Pray for each others Medical bills?
Ideally you paid off your debt long before age 65 & have also been investing 15% of gross for years.

These type of debt free screams never impress me.
Lol how would Jennifer would manage in my life, our income incredibly volatile, our expenses steadily increasing, cutting back? Cuts always come from the personal side
What if you wanna finance equipment for a business?
You must be a new listener. Dave’s reply would be to move at the speed of cash. NO loans.
@@notgivingmyemail3381 in that case it’ll take years to start up a business😅
@@ismaelcruz7576I’m not disagreeing with you, just giving you the answer you’d get if you called the show.
@@ismaelcruz7576 A business that would be more likely to destroy you than not.
I wouldn't take advice from Arnold Schwarzenegger who used steroids illegally while competing in bodybuilding.
That's suspicious talk for Only Fans 😂
A quarter of a million that’s a lot if you can’t manage on that !?
Am I the only one that thinks Dave just helped her with her OF account? lol
4:45 Jennifer really plays it fast and loose with details. Come on Hoosier, get with it!
