Wish they actually went into the numbers of the budget instead of just feel good fluff motivation. Eg she worked so hard her fingers were sore. Like she was asked what was her most lucrative side hustle, voice lessons. Ok how much were you making per month/year doing that. How much was the annual income from the main jobs. What was her husband doing as his main job. To pay off 260k of debt in 7.5 years, probably need to be putting somewhere around 3k at it each month which is an additional expense in the budget. Top line monthly income, second line taxes, third debt payoff, fourth rent/mortgage, fifth living expenses. If 3k is 3rd line, likely need an income that supports 3k in taxes a month so about 11-15k a month.
The middle part of paying off debt gets tedious. Seems like you’ll never get to the end. Agree that celebrating your progress is so important. I’m at a midpoint and feel like quitting. This video has been encouraging
This is so inspirational. I have just started with the baby steps early this year and have paid off 3 of our debts as of this month! We still have a long way to go but I’m so thankful with our little progress.❤️
Next month I will pay off my third of 12 debts. I love this story because it shows about side hustles leaning into your wheelhouse! I’ve been hesitant about side hustling because I’ve been rejected for a few jobs due to hours or days of availability. I’ve never had this struggle before so the perseverance Jade shows is super encouraging!!
My friend from work, introduced me to Dave Ramsey 7-8 years ago. My finances were a mess! I saved and saved, and at the same time, was putting an equal amount of monthly mortgage towards the principal. I paid off my house on 17 April, four days shy before my 60th birthday. I am retiring end of April this year, and I am debt free. But on my birthday, my water heater tank started leaking. 😂
I really needed to hear this; I was tripping off of our 40k debt. God wanted me to hear this, I sent this episode to my wife and we are going to work towards killing our debt. Man, I love Rachel, and thanks so much Jade. Our situation is nothing compared to where you came from. This was extremely encouraging. We're going to do the baby steps.
Love Jade. I hope she writes a book or more. I would buy it. I also hope she host another class in the future. I also hope they do more collaborations. Love Rachel, too. ❤
@@NicolinaBruno we don't buy clothes normally. I wear scrubs snd uniforms. We just went on vacation and bought new summer clothes. Spent about $300 from our fun funds.
Jade is married. You’re divorced. It’s way easier to pay off debt when you’re married to a husband who helps you financially. Your best bet is to put your ex husband on child support and try getting alimony if you’re legally entitled to it.
Gosh I loved this discussion so much! Thank you Jade for sharing your story and Rachel for always bringing forward the difficult discussions all the while reminding us there is a way through.
I’ve been looking forward to hearing more about Jade’s debt free journey. Loved the tidbits she has shared in other Ramsey shows, and have been wanting to hear more! Super inspiring! Thank you for sharing Jade!
This was so good. I have been working on being debt free since 2020 and it has seemed like it's been forever but I'm glad I saw this clip it is so thank you both for sharing! I will be debt free!❤😊
Thank you for sharing your story, Jade! I have a large amount of debt (mostly student loans) and I needed to hear your story to get motivation to tackle my debt more aggressively.
Totally inspiring and empowering . I'm a musician whose income "varies" (LOL). In 2015, we started the Ramsey baby steps, started a business. Today: Debt-free and grateful to live with less and give more. Jade is right on the money! Thank you for this!
I hadn't listened in a very long time. One day I saw a clip come up for the show and there was a new person. I thought: Hey, what the heck, I'll listen. SO GLAD I DID. Jade is the perfect piece to the DR puzzle.
This is so good! I love that you touched on celebrating little milestones. I’m currently working the plan and still have a ways to go. The other night I allowed myself to get an affogato from a restaurant. After, I felt revived and ready to get back at it.
I am absolutely amazed at Jade and Christina. I ♥ their stories, determination, strength and enthusiasm. They paid around $61,000/ year on this debt ! I would love to listen to an indepth interview with Jade and Sam to hear more about their debt free journey together.
I am glad you guys did this segment, I have been wondering what Jade's story is. It would be great when a new personality is on board if we could get their journey! Thank you for sharing.
I’m a musician and the arts are very expensive. At first, I didn’t understand that kind of debt, but Jade said that she was in the arts. I also did side hustles. I’m debt free too. It’s just a shame that she had that kind of debt. However I’m glad her family got out of it.
I love how different all of the Ramsey personalities are. There’s something for everyone and something special and different that each of them brings! It makes the advice relatable and goals within reach
Love your show and of course the Dave Ramsey show as well! Paid off our car loan (our last debt) in January this year🎉 Did not really follow baby steps in order, but we were able to buy a house back in 2020 (which I’m glad we did), with such low interest. We put down 20% and got a 15 yr mortgage. We are debt free except for our mortgage. Our goal now is either pay off our mortgage as fast as we could, or just keep on saving since we are also planning to buy a rental property.
Anger is a secondary emotion. It’s never the first emotion. It’s a response to fear. It’s absolutely true to say you’re scared rather than say you’re angry. People get angry because of something or some scenario they’re afraid of. If you are angry, ask yourself why you’re angry and you will find yourself describing what you’re afraid of.
Sold our truck and used the 22k we got from the sale to buy an older car with no payment and used the 5500 we had left to pay off 1 credit card. We then looked at our interest rates and moved some debt around. We had a card at 18% so we moved it to a heloc that was at 8%. It didn't pay off that debt, just moved it, but saves all of that interest. Also we were already paying the on the heloc and the payment doesn't change so we freed up that extra money that was going to that card and can now throw that to our smallest card.
@@metaltera86 all I'm saying is the person could've just left out "black" and just put beautiful woman instead. You don't need to describe someone's race to compliment their beauty.
I’m going to need a cookbook from Jade for these amazing “reward meals” she talked about, because that sounds like a fantastic low budget reward idea, but I don’t even know where to start!

Wow jade went through a lot I follow Dave advice since I was 29 years old I wish I would her of David earlier now I am 31 dept free and investing a lot of money for 2 years and traveling the world thank you Dave Ramsey 😊❤
I’m very blessed in most ways, no debt and set for year’s financially… But this is amazing… I can’t imagine how much that took out of you.. I can’t say I would have that same energy at the moment
I wish they taught more about debt management in schools. My husband and I learned through life and it took us a lot longer but we did it. It took me 15 years of working retail to pay off my kids three years each of their college.I wanted them to have a good start. Better than us. We did become debt free till our 60s. I’m still worried about inflation in all areas of life.
Hiring Jade was one of the best choices Dave has ever made.
I absolutely love Jade! She is such an asset to the Ramsey team! I love that she speaks from experience and not theory, plus she’s super entertaining!
I really really like her too!! She’s great!!

She has been such a great addition to the show. Her energy is the best!😊
She just needs some of the Dave mean when its called for. That will come with time :)
