I watched this when I came out last year! I listened to every tip and watched your videos religiously. I really loved watching everything and it helped push me along workouts. I grinder like a mofo and looked up to you man. It’s now around more than a year later and I’m happy to say that I’m going D1 at UTSA. I don’t know if you’ll see this but thanks man!
Defintely for me a senior right now getting ready to run for a college they see how much you improved overtime and how low it is to see if your ready even if your tines aren't fast as long as u improved close to the schools time mark they know you will do better at there school
@@jadenshort6339 well you still got time as long as u didnt start ur senior year(which would b bad becuz ur gunna have to work harder to get into college for athletics) u still got time
Now I’m still a 13 year old, but I want to think ahead for what I can do right now and later. I haven’t played sports before so I hope it’s not too late for me. I’m interested in Volleyball and Basketball, it’ll be super competitive, especially Basketball. The high school I’m going to is competitive in sports so I’m gonna have to work my but off
How important is it to have good times in junior year? I'm a junior right now and I started running sophomore year, and I'm looking to improve a huge amount by senior year. Will that be impactful on my chances at running in college?
schools will definitely reach out to you through mail and as long as those pr's continue to drop. a lot of higher education schools will be turned off by the gpa because they can only pull through the athletic department so hard. But if your SAT ACT scores are relatively better than your gpa then some schools will keep you in their consideration.
You’re a sophomore so you have plenty of time to bring your grades up. It’ll be better if you’re a well rounded student. Trust me when I saw that putting effort in the easier classes pays off especially in math courses where it can be cumulative.
Clanlesscav damn those r nice prs for a sophomore. i’m in 8th grade and my championship meets in a month i’m hoping to break 5 for the mile. it’s gonna be hard but i think i can do it. is that 15:36 in xc or track? either way that’s fucking good. good luck with running and school
I want to get recruited for a soccer team I've only been able to play for 2 years, my junior and senior year, but it is my love and pride. Do you think I'd have a chance at being recruited? I'm scared that I'll be laughed at.
Camily Munoz well the university I’m attending in the upcoming fall starts recruiting in grade 10. I didn’t know anything about the recruiting process back then and just learned about it this year. I think I’m just going to stick with a club on campus so I can continue my love for the sport. I emailed a recruiting coach to get more information for my other team mates who I think have a great chance at getting recruited but I didn’t get a response.
So I’m a junior and I finally decided to take running seriously for college. I’m a distance runner and was wondering if I were to get my 21 minute 5k to a 17:50 5k by the beginning of XC season in my senior year. In addition I’ve done a marathon and I’m trying to qualify for the Boston marathon this spring. Would I have a chance to get into a D1 or D2 school?
Hello. I’m a girl and I’m in eighth grade. I was wondering what times would I need to make it into a d1 school for the future. I am interested in XC and the mile and two mile. I am also interested in distance track. So what times would I need in those events to make a d1 school? Or maybe an elite d1 program? Thank you!
Love your channel man!! You post a lot of great content. You actually inspired me to make my own channel about my running journey and to help other runners get faster as well. Any feedback or subscribes would be appreciated! peace
Could you talk a bit about how your times progressed throughout your years in high school? I’m currently in 8th grade and my dream is to run D1, and it would be great to have benchmarks to hit from year to year so I can know how I should be progressing.
What can I talk to the coach about? I have already started emailing a coach but I dont know what else to talk to him. Could you give me some examples that you used please?
Does this apply for D3 too? I really want to be part of the tufts T&F team and I’m in my senior year (international student) so I need to start email my coach :0
What 800 time would you consider competitive to D1 schools. I ran a 1:58 last season as a sophomore and I dont run xc so I would only be competitive in the 800/1600. I play soccer but should I run xc instead?
@@loophole21_ but if you're a 100 meter sprinter then don't do Xc itll slow you down, I use to run 100m in 12.32 seconds now I do it in 15 flat but don't get as tired after running it, it's a big impact but if you run the mile or the 800 then you'll do better if you run xc
@@thesauce_6925 lol what kind of training were you doing to slow down to 15 seconds. I'm a xc/track runner now going D1 and I can probably run under 13 seconds just running my normal distance training. I've run 16×200s at 27 average and finished in a 24. Builds strength if you do it right
@@ashtonh991 I'm a sophomore but that was a while back i run them in under 13 again and I run pretty well in the 5k so I guess my legs were just dead those days. But thanks for the tip🤙
Im a sprinter but ik my stuff if you want a scholarship running under 5 mins in a mile and under 10 mins in a 2 mile is good fir d3 d2 schools if u run. Like say 4:30 for mile and like 9:40 for 2 mile you can get in a d1 school anything faster top d1
XC is really about placement. Courses are very different so you cant really compare times. Strive for being in the top places in bigger meets and more competitive meets. Running fast will do that for you
Recruiting is what the college coach does when they finally agree to want you. You can have many recruits and commiting is what u do when u finally sign a paper agreeing to go to 1 of your recruits

What were ur times?
Really loving the high quality
I know it might be personal to ask but did you get a full ride or 75% or ?
Do coaches look how how much your time has improved from freshman year to senior year?
Jared Zacek I think maybe they will take a look at your times once they start noticing you

I've read that if you improve a lot you can get scouted your senior year and have application deadlines for certain colleges waived

Awesome info bro, kids need to hear this so they can control their own recruitment 🙏🙌
What’s times should you run for the 1600 and 3200 to look at getting recruited?
at least 4:20 and 9:20 to get looked at by most d1 schools. 4:30 and 9:40 for d2-d3 schools. elite d1 programs 4:15, 9:10ish
@@TheAthleteSpecial do you have times for 800 1600 girls?
Are these outdoor times junior year? 4:20, 9:20?

What does commiting mean? and what does that entitles? Would you mind explaining, thank you.
Committing is signing a paper that says you will attend the school.

honestly just focus on breaking 5 in 8th grade if you haven’t already and you’re in good shape to improve
