- The second Dalesman from Chester to Carlisle we see SR 34067 Plus 47746 working over Batty moss viaduct at Ribblehead. The forcast was for little wind, so as i live local had to go to Ribblehead, but no the wind was blowing quite hard and took the sound away, But the skylarks were singing a nice tune, hope you enjoy the view but sound not good, thanks for watching .
Great video of Tangmere, loved it!
thanks very much doctordave . 👍
Great shots Steve. Tangmere putting on a great show at a great spot
Clagy tangmere strikes again Phil, cheers 👍
Absolutely brilliant footage 👏
thanks very much 👍
Spot on Steve, a lot cooler morning so made for a great display but another windy day and a wind coming from the north didn’t help with the sound , cheers 👍
Thanks Nige, yes cooler but the wind was not that bad but the blimp didn't seem to block out the wind properly, plenty of glag but a strange sound . 👍
Picked a good spot today. Tangmere putting on a good display.👍
Thanks indeed worked out ok, cheers . 🌝
Great Video I Enjoyed It 😊
Thanks for your comment and appreciate the fedback, cheers
Cracking video. Loving the offbeat sound of Tangmere at present, and the clanking rods. Very 1966/7. Superbly filmed. JG.
Glad you mentioned the off beat. I have been commenting about that for some time. Definitely not the regular Bulleid 3 cylinder rhythm.
@@rsilman73sounds like a rebuild lol. Tis either an exhaust edge gone on v/v, or broken rings?
Somethings up?
Defo not right but the things will still steam n time trains. Not much in the land that’ll do that these days.
@@rsilman73 👍
👍
Thanks very much it was an offbeat sound, plenty of thoughts about that, but still going , cheers S 👍
Thank you stephen for your fantastic video regards kevin😊
Thanks Kevin, shame the wind was taking the sound away. 👍
I understand that she was brought to a sudden halt on her northbound trip - according to a friend onboard there was an electrical fault on the steam loco! Soon put right by the crew.
A magnificent spectacle on the viaduct.
Thanks Tim, not heard anything on that count, but it certainly filled Ribblehead with smoke, cheers Steve .
Well covered Steve and plenty of clag in a good setting ,thanks for sharing. Brian
Thanks Brian, yes plenty of clag from Tangmere, cheers Steve .
This loco never fails to put on a show, nicely panned off the viaduct.
Thanks Derek, great show yes from 34067, change of loco be nice though, thanks . 👍
Sounds better at lower speed. Good video and location.
Thanks Idris, still sounds a bit odd at low speed . 🤔
Another cracking video Stephen well done great camera work as usual I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam bye for now Philip
Thanks Philip, glad you enjoyed watching, cheers Steve .
Brilliant Steve , fantastic exhaust from Tangmere.
Thanks Steve, cheers . 👍
Wow Steve some exhaust over ribblehead seams to be struggling a bit but nice 👍
Thanks Graham, yes steady with clag but got there and back from Carlisle, without much assistance passing me . 👍
Yes, great video Stephen, shame the wind pinched the sound. Pleasures of living in that part of the world. 🤓
EWasn't meant to be so windy, even the blimp struggled 🤔, thanks Steve .
Marvellous loco, they work very well and still look to a 79 year old quite modern Excellent camera work 👍 😊✨️
Thanks indeed quite modern at the time they were in operation, but time flies, cheers for your comment .🌝👍
Superb video. I love Tangmere, always puts on a show and that exhaust is brilliant. Does it sound a little unwell you think?
Bring that loco down south, bullied um rebuilts are just fantastic!!
Well the jurys out on the sound , condition, coal etc, i just make the video, thanks for your input, cheers . 🌝
On his way to get his Euro6 emissions certification.
😅
That engine sounds sick, with only 5 exhaust beats instead of six. Could be the reverser was pulled up too tight to mid-gear, but why the driver would do that at such a slow speed is puzzling. It sounded the same in another video last week. If they keep running the engine like this I predict a catastrophic failure in the not-too-distant future. I think that train definitely needed a diesel on the back.
Thanks for your thoughts on the matter, i am not a specialist so no comment from me, cheers Steve .
filthy coal though!
Yes a few comments on that, why we cannot have British coal that once built G.B 🤔 i think we know why, thanks .
It's really noticeable how much smoke, often black, Tangmere puts up. Bad firing, poor quality coal? What's going on?!? Certainly can't be steaming well......
Well can be too much up the front, keeping doors shut (not enough top air to burn off volatiles).
They’m fraid of their lives to keep doors cracked open.
Keep the back end & corners well up over mouthpiece on a West Country, doors cracked on 2nd notch (shovel jus fits) & she’ll help herself down the front n jus keep firing to bright spots. Thas how all the ol green badgers taught me & it works a treat.
Very hard to lose control of fire then & will respond immediately to any demand placed on it!!
Hope that helps?
That is a very poorly loco , sounds well off . Great video though
Thanks for your comment , noted by other's too, me not a specialist, but sounded odd . 🤔
⭐️🦺. Nice. Stephen. Picture perfect🥲👋
Thanks Stephen . 🌝
