Thanks, Josh. It is appreciated that you take the time to share these things with us and not just the actual shooting. Greetings from the Central West, NSW.

I’ve always wondered so thanks for that 👍 I live in the big smoke in a unit where people don’t know how to close a door at night 👍

Been using these for a few months now and love them. Shooting, grinding, mowing and even use them when the mother in law comes over!

Thanks for that Josh, I looked into those once and didn’t do anything more. I wear earmuffs every day and when I sweat they are a nuisance so I’m definitely going to try them.

They don’t block the sound as well as ear muffs or the foam ear plugs but they are plenty good enough for shooting.

Great info Josh. I lost my Earmold ones a while ago so just purchased these. Cheers.

Hope they work well for you mate. I use Earmold ones first but found they were too soft and didn’t last long. The secret I think with these is don’t push it in your ear too hard when first making them. 👍

Thanks Josh, love your video work, I have learnt a lot from your trap set videos. Yes I also wondered about the blue ear things, I will order a set, love they small and they look like they stay in the ear as they are molded. We also have wild dogs on our property, right now just waiting for the permits to acquire a rifle, have traps read to go. Great work Mate.

Thanks mate. They are good but these ones haven’t turned out as well as my first pair. That I have been using for 2 years. I think I may have still pushed it in too far. Might have to get another lot and try again. They can be a bit finicky to get right but when you do they are pretty good plugs but not as effective as foam ones.

The secret is don’t push them in too hard when you are making them or you can’t get them to sit properly after they have set and keep your mouth open.

No worries. Just don’t push it too hard in your ear when you make them or they are hard to get in right after they set. I’m not real happy with how these ones turned out. Might have to make another lot yet.

Nice one Josh. Always thought what hearing protection you used. Looked a bit like you were being a cheapskate and using blue tack 😂. After working in the Underground Mining industry for 40 yrs have seen a lot of hearing protection come and go. Also put a few rounds thru SLR rifle in the late seventies and eighties during a stint in the Army Reserve. Thanks for the video. YES and the wife of 45 years reckons I am deaf 😂 but I use it to my advantage 😅

I have a set of earmold ones, they were for under my helmet, they worked well. You could hook them up via a 3.5 jack to your phone.

No they had a tube running into them. It connected to a small speaker/mic set up. They sounded quite good.

i have a couple of sets for riding my motorbike, them cheaper molding kits are better than the harder resin type....they don't sweat as much with a helmet on..

I use some remouldable plastic ones. They are pretty good. After a night they make your ears ache. I’ve been thinking about some noise attenuating ones. Have you done any reviews on noise attenuating ear plugs/phones?

I know you said you don't like ear muffs. But have you tried the electronic ones, where you can hear people talking but it goes quiet when you pull the trigger.

    • @intothenight1993

Yes I have a pair but I get a headache from the pressure on the sides of my head. And I find ear muffs annoying to shoot with.

Stupid laws made by stupid people that we can't have suppressors. They are so readily available in NZ over the counter at any gun shop and no problems over there with them.
