Bass cannot survive in "super deep" waters, they require more oxygen than most fishes. They are either in the middle(which not often) or near the banks under shades(almost always).
Deep is relative to any body of water ... I have caught bass 40-50 feet down in some lakes at different times of the year ... it just depends where you are and the ability of the body of water to sustain bass deep . I know guys in the west have caught them at 80 plus ... everywhere is different I guess .

Set up recommendation for the crankbait?
using 15-20 pound floro and youre good. no swivels, snaps, beads, weights.. Just tie a crankbait on a floro(bc it sinks) and youre good.
