the menu part was way too accurate, am I being stalked?? whenever I'm about to do something I start talking about something unrelated and completely forget about what I just about to do 😭 I hate it
With my ADHD I’m like this 😭 it’s wild cause you have some ADHD’ers who rely on multitasking to function and then there me who just gets distracted by anyone and anything and then I have to backtrack if I even can
@@skiesandoceans Difficulty with focus and attention - this is ADHD. Personally, I regularly struggle with splitting my focus across multiple tasks at a time. Plus, I frequently have difficulty switching from one task to another. Hope this helps :)
We're just neuro spicy ok we're trying our best 😭 But we can all eventually learn to multitask while cooking, just takes a couple failures and lots of (labeled) timers...
Then learn how to be more accepting. For many people it’s either doing one thing at a time or not doing anything at all because it gets too much for them. They can deal with you multitasking and you can deal with them not being able to.
@@ada5851 you're right, I mean ppl like this clearly aren't doing it on purpose, and not being able to tolerate that probably means they're not the issue, the issue is my impatience. I know my prior comment was quite short and "harmless," but invalidating ppl who can't even help it just ain't right. So, if it helps, I also low-key find ppl who do things one at a time to be really iconic idk why
@@GabrielleBuko Haha it's okay I know you didn't mean to be invalidating or anything. I also kind of laugh at myself for this. It's all good as long as we try to understand each other :)
NGL I literally can't stand people who do the first example. ADHD isn't an excuse for prioritizing your phone over the current conversation!

It's not an excuse, it's an explanation. Imagine driving like you did on your driving exam, every day. Full focus, empty pockets, nothing else matters, from the moment you unlocked the car to the moment you shut down the engine. That's how you're supposed to be driving. But that's not how people drive normally, right? We are setting up nav, we are dicking around in infotainment, we are sending texts, we are doomscrolling at red lights. Why do you think that is? ADHD answers - because those activities are more likely to get you dopamine, make you feel good about yourself, relax your active mind, allow yourself to autopilot a bit. Now, just scale the stress down - what would be typical conversation between two people is driving exam for ADHD. It requires a lot of careful training to be able to pull off consistently. And trust me, that training is hard to come by.
yeah but it depends on the context. if it was an active conversation it's rude, if they were just kinda chilling on their phones and she was messaging someone when the person brought up the idea of going to the beach, i'd finish the message i was typing before giving the attention to the irl conversation. you can't always expect immediate attention. but yeah you're supposed to say "sorry let me finish this thing"
Well damn, what did you do before smart phones were invented? Run to the nearest computer? I also have the urge to look at my phone when someone is talking to me sometimes. However, I do not want to be an asshole. it's that simple.
@@hissing3904 totally. But for some reason one of my coworkers likes to start a conversation with me, and as soon as my response isn't engaging enough he gets out his phone and scrolls Facebook or reels or whatever. It's rude as fuck and just says "I couldn't give less of a shit about what you're saying to me right now."
I am that person and I hate it 😭😭😭

Help I don't see what's wrong with the last example 😭 that's exactly what I do. How am I supposed to read & talk at the same time ??
Talk and eat at the same time is the challenge 😳
You aren't. It takes the same parts of your brain, so one or the other.
Meanwhile I multitask due to anxiety, stress and paranoia 😅

THESE PEOPLE ARE SO ANNOYING
The people that can't stop distracting them are so annoying. No one would be like this if they were able to do different.
