To be honest I don't remember exactly, for now I would estimate about 2k RMB (put into consideration that I'm in a small town + free apartment that had basics).
*Above excludes quarantine related costs
Someone who is in Beijing broke down the estimated costs like this:
Rent : 5000rmb x 5 (3months in advance rent+admin/agent fee+ 1 month deposit) =*25000rmb*
One way flight ticket: 7000rmb
Monthly costs for the first month(food and utilities): 5000rmb depending on how you spend.
NB. The above figures are just estimations. My advice will be: save as much money as possible, starting from 37000RMB which is R100 000

Thank you and Yes. To be honest it's currently a competitive time since borders are open, I know someone that came this side without experience. My advice is continue applying as much as you can, you'll get something eventually 😉
