- Spring time in Alaska means a lot of things. Longer days, warmer temperature, yard work, and finding the things you last saw in October before it snowed. For us it also means its time to fill the woodshed, get the motorcycle ready, plan all that you can for the next 5 months.
We are the Retherfords and we live in a 12x16, (with a loft) 375 sq.ft, dry cabin in Alaska. We live a simple and minimal lifestyle. We believe that experiences and relationships are more important than things.
We enjoy the simple, yet hard work involved in living this way.
We are on-grid and do have electricity, but use it minimally. We have no indoor water, bath, or toilet. We have wood stove heat only.
We are only on this earth for a short time and everything here is temporal. We are on a journey to our promised land in heaven, where all things are eternal. With that in mind, we are not working for temporal things but for the eternal. We are living life as God leads and not allowing ourselves to become comfortable or settled but continue to grow and move through this journey.
We have a lot of different content on our channel, just real life stuff for us. Cabin life, our simple ways, Christian and Carnivore content, adventures, hikes, & simple meals & snacks.
Our Channel is a smorgasbord of life lived.
Our goal is to become financially free, and able to pack our bags and go wherever and whenever God leads us.

Hi David and Angie, I have to say, your editing skills have become quite professional. . and the slide down was fun to watch I liked the whistling song, it was kinda cool. The hike was fantastic but, the ridge walking is a bit scary I couldn't do it with my balance issues. I have a lot of trees I can tap up here and I will. Don't know why you were thanking the chickens, the Roosters did all the work, lol. Good job on the trees and bike. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Angie Hi David! Great to see what you two have been up to! Great job getting the tree limbs cleaned up. Good idea to catch some sap from the trees. We would have guessed it was to early in Alaska.
