Our simple life in Alaska
We moved from a three bedroom, fully functional home, to a 375 square foot dry cabin, without an indoor toilet or shower.
We got married in 2016, and decided to get rid of 2/3 of what we owned and live a simpler life with less things.
Life with less felt so freeing that we continued the process of decluttering our home, our lives and our debt. We discovered that our home had become quite empty and we did not need all that space. We dreamed of building a tiny cabin and living a simple life with minimal things, having more time for relationships and experiences.
We began our build in spring of 2018 and finished in the fall of 2019. We moved in, and are living that simple life we dreamed of.
We are still working on becoming debt free, while living a simple life, and working towards a more minimalist lifestyle where we are focused more on Loving God, Loving Others and Loving Life.

The best thing I ever did was put plastic around my chicken coop and use a heated dog dish. Thanks for sharing.
@@janie2shoes537 The plastic works great for wind and snow blowing in, we only have it on the wind side, (so we can leave it up year round and it not get too hot and smelly in the summer. We don’t have power to the coop, no heated bowl. I give them fermented food, it has a lot of water and they eat it up before it freezes. Thanks for watching, have a wonderful holiday season. 😊

Why dont you spread a bit of straw for those chickens. Wont it make clean up easier and their home a bit warmer?
@@Fuzzyedgz It probably would clean up better. Straw is expensive here and sometimes hard to get. Their coop is insulated. Thanks for watching, have a great Christmas season.

I know this is two years old but I enjoyed watching this. Love the unconventional set up of your life. Yes I would def say this is a homestead. Enjoy those grandkids! Do they ever come knocking on the door early on a saturday morning for some hot chocolate by the cozy wood stove?
