Grate review. Can you share how difernt is from 1TDX ?
Try to listen to some CSS Audio speakers before you spend your money and time building a set. In my experience they have a sound that may or may not be your cup of tea.
My experience is with the 1td-x kit with superior parts add-on package.
I found the speakers to be polite. They were not party speakers.
The flat pack cabinet and all parts are high quality. I found the speakers easy to build. It took me about 15 hours to build my pair of speakers. I did not rush. No issues turned up along the way. Well thought out design.
Please note polite sound is depends on paring components, mainly amplification.
I have 1TDX Superior, 2TDX and Torii line, I tried with from $300 amp to $15k amps, thanks

Great review, may I know how was these speakers compared to Musician Audio Knight 1? I'm using Wharfedale EVO4.2 and still thinking about replace my speakers to the Knight 1 is worthy the upgrade or not.
Evo 4.2 is good but Knight 1 is in another level.
I have owned the 1TDX, 2TDX and 2TDX towers . Also owned the 1TDX with the bass modules and loved each and every speaker. I love to build the stuff and have about broken even on the sale of each. I am soon to buy and build yet another pair...probably their new 3 way. As I recently had a pair of R3 Metas here and I was quite impressed. I agree the CSS Criton line is better in most areas. How would you compare the 2TDX towers to the Tori and the R3 Metas? Thanks for another great review

Yes but really only the bass power and impact. They will also play louder without strain. I co spider the 2TDX was me of the best values in all of audio
Is there a significant difference between the 2TDX MTM and the 2TDX tower? Does the tower just set play a little bit lower?
yes, box size allows it to play lower. Bass on either is damn good though. @@stevem7820
In your opinion! What is the better deal these or the 1dtx. I would have them finished ready to play. As I don't really have time. I did put the torii bookshelf speakers together and I think they sound better than the klipsch rp 600ms I have.

Hard to tell exactly what these sound like through youtube, but I'd say they sound a lot like an A Jones Elac Reference like sound-relatively flat and quick. An OK sound but I perfer MORE warmth.

Your biggest mistake was wanting "a little more transparency/clarity in upper midrange", because you want it only in some special cases (maybe female voices or so). In most other situations the same transparency is bothering and "destroying" the smootheness and harmony of the speakers
A mistake nearly EVERYONE does. This "lack" of transparency in this region is exactly what makes this and compareable speakers so listenable, so smooth and so "well balanced".
Chasing this transparency is what immediately makes speakers a touch to bright.....
Understanding this is what makes you happy forever....
Mistake? No, it can be done.
Transparency is nothing to do with bright sound, that is your biggest misconception.
I would keep the CSS over the KEF

Just sharing my experience.
Pull out one of the drivers and show us if the speaker basket is stamped or casted and how the internal structure of the cabinet is built. It doesn't take much work to do that.
They're cast.

Would think there’s a downside to having so many lower price drivers versus fewer better quality drivers.
Truth is, lower prices doesn’t mean lower quality, most drivers are mass produced cheaply regardless of the name, except for some with exotic materials.
