Glenn Tilbrook is one of the all time great singer/songwriters, just listen to that voice not to mention his guitar playing he has it all. He deserves a hell of a lot more recognition. A true legend.
Stephen Large is a truly cool & very talented pianist! He compliments Glenn's top-drawer guitar skills & great singing voice, particularly in this lovely song.
There is a good DVD of that tour. Called "One for the Road". Well worth getting. Shows also what a great guy Glenn is as well as great musician and singer.
Do love this! First saw Glenn perform this in Liverpool. He did a completely acoustic set, supporting Bonnie Raitt - turning point for me. Love his Fluffers too! Catch him live if you can. Must say Jools was very gracious!
Saw Glenn's solo gig at the Spirit Store, Dundalk (Ireland) on Saturday 8th Nov, another great performance from a truly outstanding singer/songwriter ... still humming the songs today !!
Probalby green with envy. Jools cannot hold a candle to Steven. Have seen Glenn solo acoustic twice and with the Fluffers twice-awesome..and Squeeze is coming here in two weeks!! I can hardly contain myself
I agree. I always thought Clapton should have been a Wilbury. But yes, Glenn would have been a good choice. The Travelling Wilburys should have been an on going band, As one member dies they are replaced by another so it carries on. Who would be on your list??
Another great song from Glenn, great melody and lyrics. I've seen Squeeze and Glenn Tilbrook so many times now and I'm singing louder and louder in the audience its becoming embarrassing.. I'm sure the last time I saw Glenn he gave me a bit of a stare as if to say "I'm ****** singin". I'm still hoping for an invite on stage.. actually did that once back in the 90's at Manchester Apollo :-)
him and Chris Difford worked well in Squeeze he even had to cover the likes of Tempted and Loving You Tonight which was Paul Carrick vocals on East Side Story and Some Fantastic Place album but one of the rerecorded versions was on Spot The Difference
I liked Squeeze, particularly Up The Junction and Labelled with Love; the latter is an amazing song about a life and its transitions, loneliness and rejection in old age. That is a clever song-writer at any age. I have been trying to make a decision about who my brother and I will listen to on the second Saturday of the festival in my new(ish) town. Listening to this has made the decision. I just hope there are some tickets left.

How well this guy sings live just amazes me every time I see him live. I'm certain both he and Chris Difford live the comfortable lives they deserve given their genius as artists. However, the fact that worthless artists like Michael Bolton can make millions while guys like Difford & Tilbrook remain at a "cult" status their entire careers is evidence that most people in this world have no idea what is great art versus shit.
Who is Michael Bolt On anyway? A pretty boy with ringlets and a bad mullet who made plangent appeals to the knicker brigade before shuffling off out of the MOR limelight when his hairline receded . Meanwhile, there's a bunch of these guys around; Difford, Tillbrook, Costello, Lowe, Wyatt, Edmonds and a bunch more too. Trends come & go, but quality will always out, especially when it comes to standing on a stage and performing an original song with minimal accompaniment. Onya Glenn! And Jools.
Just a poor Colonials opinion, mate. Although strongly a held one! Just have seen Steven do some amazing things..This is not his best performance by far.

When Glen dies he will be recognised as one of the greatest singer/songwriters in history. I just wish he would get some recognition now.
Does he have to die before that happens?

He sings like an angel and looks like one too.
Lovely in person, hugged me after a gig last year, signed my cd & ticket and spoke to us too
Great, humble, guy and a fantastic talent!

I was there at Grand Central, too. It was THE BEST PERFORMANCE I HAVE EVER SEEN.
Unbelievable singer and writer ❤
Glenn would have made a great addition to the Traveling Wilburys. Such an underrated talent.

so underated is glen,a legend in his own lifetime,
How can anyone "dislike" this song/performance? It seems one person can...
Stephen Large is a legend too!
Difford and Tilbrook are probably the greatest pop singer-songwriters, since Lennon and McCartney.

This sounds more Beatles than The Beatles and I cant get it out of my head. The electric version is my favorite.
what I would do to have that VOICE,.....as good as his writing is
Who are the two weirdos that didn't like this!!?
I am gripped. What a beautiful song. Glen love your sexy voice. Its so romantic. Wow
This is wellweapon!
@steveguion Your comment is so true, the music world is full of shit , Glenn is a genius
Sorry, I hit the down thumb when I meant the up thumb! :(
