Follow Head Gardener John Hawley as he walks us through the diverse spaces these historic gardens offer, from the unusual east quarry and the historic rhododendron gardens to one of the UK’s oldest and largest Douglas Firs. Absolutely gorgeous! “I’m merely the caretaker;it’s not my garden.” Wow - I love the honor and respect that those words bring to the caretakers and gardeners and architects the gardens that have gone before.
10/10 would like to have some afternoon tea there.
I would like to join you, if you don't mind. Tea and pastries are best savoured with a company.
We are so blessed in the UK having so much history before us!
I am so lucky to be able to visit this adorable place every year. It really is a wonderful place.
So sweet and nice for the gardeners to take care of the garden for decades. ♥️♥️♥️
Goodness gracious, me oh my .. this place is heaven on earth!!! 💖
I am English Heritage member. A place to visit.
Stunning rhododendrons
Such a hard working and dedicated group of gardeners deserve a big Thank You from all who have the pleasure of seeing the beauty they provide from their labours , without them the path of Nature may have taken a very different course ........ Bless them All 👌🏼❤️
My sleep deprived self misread that as "Behind the Screams", and I got very concerned about what was going on in the garden for about 30 seconds until my eyes finally focused.
In my next life, I need to be a gardener at this lovely spot. I'm visiting your green and pleasant land again this summer, and I simply must see this.
Be a gardener, and when you less expect all gardens you make will be a piece of this one, only in different places - but altogether in your heart.
more garden videos please! What a lovely antidote to the Canadian winter outside my window right now
Ain't nature wonderful? Why would anyone destroy it?
Impossible, of course
So little people taking care of this and many other beautiful gardens and so many people polluting the rest of the enviroment.
What a shame
Amazing job anyway, thank you for your help to preserve such important sources of beauty❤
this is absolutely stunning. who in the world disliked this video...
Sad people who need a hug...and a life.
Weeds?
dúlamán Perhaps it was just some accidental dislikes. It is quite easy to hit the wrong spot when navigating. Can’t imagine otherwise myself. Brought a bit of sunshine to a cold Good Friday in Canada. :)
with this kind of gardens I suppose the lord has to also think of the future, because no amount of gardeners can make tree grow any faster than it does. so the garden might never look at its peak during his lifetime.
Beautiful
Is so beautiful
That quarry area just screams for a film to be set there!
This is absolutely beautiful!!!
Its so beautiful and peaceful🌷💗
Beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous! “I’m merely the caretaker it is not my garden. seriously golden words!!
This place is gorgeous. I am impressed by the head gardener. Last line was touching.

Wonderful! What a blessing that 'job' is. Glory and Beauty Everyday!.
I love it !!
What a beautiful garden. It's the perfect place where you can lose yourself for awhile and let the stress of daily life slip away.
I hope to visit one day....
Those rhododendrons are impressive! And the soil looks so rich!
Oh how beautiful! I can imagine the happiness and satisfaction it brings to care for such a garden and be able to experience the results! I would _love_ to volunteer, but I'm afraid I've just begun gardening and I still have plenty to learn.
Very good video. A place on my list to visit.

~•~
btw, it's such an amazing garden!
i've never seen one quite like that
Once I have read "The 13th Tale" and I just can't figured the topiary and the garden and the hill out until I see this video. Thanks.
Omg breaktaking
Dang, you can film all 9 Star Wars movies in that garden. Endor, Dagobah, Hoth in the Winter, Naboo, Alderaan, Star Killer Base.
The intervention of these gardeners intervenes in a surgical way so that the spontaneous beauty created by nature presents itself ordered by the strength of the perception of these "artist".
Stunning, beautiful ♥️ love to go.. Google’s how to get there. And if I can bring my dog 🐕 x
That's great to hear Baftagirl! We're pleased to confirm that dogs are very welcome in the gardens if they are kept on a short lead. But regrettably they cannot enter the castle or hall. You can find out more about planning a visit to Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens here:

Your Garden or not, it is lovely 🙂
O like de número 623!
Que lugar lindo!😍😍
Fico imaginando um passeio por esse local! Parece com o verde do Brasil!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏👏👏👏
I've adored Belsay since first visiting as a child in 1960, long before it was open to the public; our family used to picnic there every June when the rhododendrons were in full flower, thanks to my grandpa being acquainted with Sir Stephen Middleton. I've visited twice since it reopened earlier this month and am curious about the major alterations taking place in the formal gardens. I gather there is an explanatory video somewhere but can't find it - can you help please? (This footage shows the gardens how they were last year, not how they are now.... quite a change..... )
Very noice
That place is my dream of life. I would love to live there unfortunately Im too poor for that lol
Can you visit this residence or is this a private house ?
You can visit. There is a link with details in the video description.
Let these people have a little bit more freedom with garden.
Exactly
WHERE IS EDGAR ARSHMAN?!
Where is Montie Don??! Haha
6th
12th lol
What the hell is a 'grade one garden'???
Is sir Charles Monk going to eat your in your sleep if you do not abide by his garden plan? Just wondering. It seems to me that you think you will have your soul stolen while you sleep if you don’t do his plan. Who’s gonna to know? Who is going to know? I say pave over the whole damn thing and make sure that it looks like a parking lot and put up at Walmart.
