    Love it. The tiny house/boat is beautiful. It looks like peace, freedom and tranquility in a small but comfortable package.

    You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Your tiny houseboat must bring you a great deal of enjoyment and peacefulness. I wouldn't mind having something like this to live in full-time. I didn't realize there were electric motors powerful enough to push you through the water. How many knots can it go? How many watts worth of solar panels do you have? Oh yes. Have you room to put one water heating panel on your roof? That would be great for maybe putting up an outside shower that you can enclose with heavy, waterproof material for privacy. You have really activated my imagination. Thanks so much for sharing!

    • @CB99Videos
      @CB99Videos  9 років тому

      +Br. Curt Beardsley 2400 watts of panels. We only use this as a summer house and use lake water for washing up in the sink (not for drinking, and sink water goes into a gray water tank) we we do not need hot water by solar, but we do get passive hot water by solar as explained in the video. The electric motor takes our 7K plus pound boat about 3 mph...walking speed...the top speed is rated for 5 mph or 9 hp equiv. but we generally go under 3mph..so this motor boat is a little different kind of touring boat than one with a powerful gass engine.

    If my wife didn't have such a FEAR of being out on the water We'd be living full time in a old fashion looking Shanty boat... But I'd have to make mine longer because there's no way she would give up her Harley... LOL,LOL... I now have to ride on three wheels so I have a Can Am Spyder. So that would be our way to travel on land and the rest of the time we'd follow the weather best we could north in the summer and south in the winter... But this winter the weather has been messed up... LOL,LOL... Y'all got a nice comfortable looking home... Enjoy it and enjoy the blessing of being out among to awesome creation the God has made for us to enjoy... BBE..

    Do batteries power the oven? I suppose if you have enough power to motor across a lake you have enough to heat a toaster oven.
    Do you have a vid of getting the house off tge trailer onto the water?
    Nice work

    • @CB99Videos
      @CB99Videos  9 років тому

      It is one single battery -- Lithium Ion and the sun tops it off daily...we can cook, ride, and have a fridge going all summer. We don't do much baking in the oven, but do cook rice in the microwave.

    i have been thinking on doing one something like this and i have a few questions that i hope you dont mind how is it health wise living on the water all the time? is it harder on a person lungs breathing in the moisture all the time since on the water? and about how much in the package deal did it cost to go solar?. and great looking house boat you have there

      Jerry Lewthwaite The house goes back on its trailer it was built on and becomes a tiny house again. The boat is stored out, as almost all boats are. Just a few questions: Do you leave it in the water during winter? We live in Nova Scotia and, our winters are quite harsh. I'm thinking of building one on a trailer so we can pull it out of the water for the Winter. Just not sure how the wheels would hold up in the water. Does yours have wheels?

    • @CB99Videos
      @CB99Videos  8 років тому

      Thanks for your comment, L. Here is a link to a video that shows that we do not keep the trailer in the water at all (that is, no wheels in the water). ua-cam.com/video/MChNurTZzNo/v-deo.html
      Enjoy and thank you for watching. (sorry for the late response).

    Hi Carla! Serious question for you: have you stayed in the boat when the waters are a bit rougher? Does it shake or rock? Hubby wants to live in a pontoon/boat/houseboat and I'm wondering what it's going to be like during inclement weather. 😓

    • @CB99Videos
      @CB99Videos  6 років тому

      yes, it rocks, shakes, sometimes it's very scary. We have not put it in salt water, and it's best to use in calmer lakes. We do not have a strong motor - equivalent to 9 hp max. if you are not going electric, that would be different.

    • @longyarn4288
      @longyarn4288 6 років тому +1

      CB99Videos - Hey, Thanks for the reply! We've been told we need to get a displacement hull type of boat to do the Great Loop, so pontoon boats are out. Which is a bummer because they look like they'd be more comfortable! We're still looking though. Have a Wonderful day and a Better tomorrow!

    Is it possible to remove from the triler & use on the river, switch to & from?

    • @CB99Videos
      @CB99Videos  10 років тому

      Yes we can move it back and forth between trailer and pontoons..but not without a good deal of time and expense...so we do this once a season....it takes two trucks to transport the tiny house and boat separately and a crane to lift the house onto the boat. You can see the related videos linked in the description of this video. such as this one ua-cam.com/video/GsGZlC57-As/v-deo.html

      Last summer we were in Lake Champlain, which some call the 5th great lake. The lake, which is smaller than the great lakes, is a monster...but a lovely monster... we are happy to have a much quieter life (if less adventurous) on Lake Winnie this summer.

    Looks great! Q though: What type of solar panels are being used for the roofing? Where did you purchase them? I'm in the beginning stages of designing a tiny house myself and I love the idea of solar panels as roofing.

    • @CB99Videos
      @CB99Videos  10 років тому

      Hi Jeff. Thanks for your comment. The roof is made of twelve 190 watt AstroEnergy panels in six strings of 2 panels feeding an Outback GTFX3048 w/ FM80 FlexPower ONE inverter system FP1-25. Both the solar panels and the inverter were purchased from Wholesale Solar

    • @CB99Videos

      +LongIslandADED. You can stay on the houseboat in NH only if you are docked or moored with permission from a landowner. That is the bummer of NH. We live there only in summer. When we traveled to VT, of course it was over land to get there. See this video about putting the boat together ua-cam.com/video/MChNurTZzNo/v-deo.html

    I would like a houseboat but with my husband and myself we are a little o.c.d and would have to have better designated storage.....I couldn't do all the clutter in such a tiny space. Everything would have to have its place.....no place for it then we wouldn't have it! Seeing how you're only part timers on the Tiny boat, I could probably deal with the small fridge\ icebox.
    If we were going to be putting that much money already into a houseboat, I would much prefer making it on a much wider base ( 3 pontoons) and building a (second story) sleeping loft. Then use the old bunk space for an actual small bathroom....stand up shower, toilet, small RV sink. You could slope the roofline at a gradual pitch to the front (covered porch. cptn area) so it wouldn't cause a huge wind drag and you can still use your panels. I'd want to stay full time so a bigger (slightly) footprint would be necessary for us, but organization is a must!
    It's wonderful to see and hear how much you enjoy your boat...that's the most important thing! 😉
