A lot of people hate this movie, but I don't. The Flintstones is an underrated movie A lot of the live-action movie versions of cartoons are corny, but in my opinion, none of them can beat this one!
Johnno9989 You mean, this one is probably a better live-action movie adapted from a cartoon? Don't forget, "George of the Jungle", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", and "Scooby Doo 3: The Mystery Begins". I was also thinking Yogi Bear, but wasn't sure if that and "The Smurfs" series works too, but I know "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" does.
George Of The Jungle's okay, but I wasn't keen on the narrator. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is great. I ain't keen on The Grinch, though you do realise it was originally based on a novel. I ain't seen Scooby Doo 3 or The Smurfs movie or the Yogi Bear movie, so I can't comment on them three.
I distinctly remember a Cartoon Network promo for the 2000 prequel “Viva Rock Vegas” that replaced that line with We’ll Have A Real Good Time instead of Gay Old Time. I was 7 back then and even I figured out why they changed it.
Wilma: And promise me you won't say anything like what you did when you saw my sister's baby. Fred Flintstone: The kid had a tail? What was I supposed to do? Pretend I didn't notice? LOL
This was really my first B-52's song. I use to love The Flintsones cartoons before their gags became dated to me. I thought the live action movie was cool, the prequel was so-so. If it wasn't for Brian Levant, I would never have know about The B-52's or on this occasion, The BC-52's
Yabba dabba doo! Flintstones, meet the Flintstones They're the modern stone age family From the town of Bedrock They're a page right out of history Let's ride with the family down the street Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet When you're with the Flintstones Have a yabba dabba doo time A dabba doo time We'll have a gay old time The Flintstones! Flintstones, meet the Flintstones They're the modern stone age family From the town of Bedrock They're a page right out of history Someday, maybe Fred will win the fight Then the cat will stay out for the night When you're with the Flintstones Have a yabba dabba doo time A dabba doo time We'll have a gay old time We'll have a gay old time (yeah)
I grew up with the Hanna Barbara cartoons in the late 90's early 2000's .and I say they are far better cartoons then the shows they have on cartoon network.now .cartoon network is going to hell
I'm going to play this song on New Year's. When the clock hits midnight I'm gonna yell a triumphant YYYYYYYYYABBA DABBA DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Just listening to this very Theme to To Flintstones by the B.C. 52’s Strongly reminds me of that very first time that I had went to Universal Studios Hollywood in the summertime during 100 Degree Weather patterns when I was only 19 years old and having just graduated High School and when traveling straight up and down the Escalators from one region of the Theme Park To The Very next !!!!!!! 😉😉😉😉😉
From The Creators Of An American Tail, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Geminis, The Land Before Time, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back To The Future And We’re Back: A Dinosaur Story
All the sudden this song is actually catchy. I was gonna rewatch the movie and I can't find it on Netflix right now. I even tried it on UA-cam, it's been forever I've seen this movie and thought it was funny.

Say what you will about the movie it may not be as funny or iconic as the cartoon but despite that this song's pretty catchy to listen to considering that it's the original song used in the cartoon but with a 90's tone to it!
It’s an intentional joke B.C. means Before Christ in the context, and they’re usually called the B 52’s, so for the release of Meet the Flintstones, a cover of the Flintstones (which takes place in the stone age) theme featured in the 1994 live action movie, they became the B.C 52’s
