I really like the Mega for what it is. A great allrounder with no weaknesses. Maybe not the best in definition because of its full range single driver design but it sounds quite natural with slight bass emphasis but all around pretty "normal". It goes really loud and keep its punchy bass undistorted better than the SMP or similar speakers in this size and weight. Just great.

This is the best and most helpful demonstration of this speaker I could find on the internet! Thank you. Two THUMBS UP!!

FWIW, speaker testing is usually done with pink noise, not white noise. But thanks for including that clip, as it made it very simple for me to capture the FR using REW's free RTA utility. I wish more reviewers would do that, but using pink noise though :-).

I like this speaker. Not immediately but it did grow on me. With that said if you’re a person that’s concerned with detail then you may want to look elsewhere. Hip Hop, Reggae, 90s RnB and most types of EDM sound great. The bass on this speaker is impressive and it’s maintained all the way up the volume scale. Ultimately though this speaker is for fun listening, not critical… If you’re ok with that then you’ll thoroughly enjoy this speaker.
    Btw, don’t pay over $70

I own EIGHT different Tribit Bluetooth speakers, including the XSound Mega, but I also have the JBL Charge 5 (Wi-Fi Edition). To be honest, although I clearly love Tribit speakers, I prefer the Charge 5 to the Mega. Not that there is anything wrong with the Mega exactly, it just didn't impress me as much as my other Tribit speakers. If you fancy the RGB lighting, the detachable strap and the AUX input though...go for it.
I am actually going to give my Mega to a friend today, as it's his birthday and I've hardly used it and still have all the packaging etc. I'm sure he'll love it.

@@hedgehog1965uk I am happy that I decided back then for the Tribit bc I really needed the strap. The Charge would have had no usage at all

@@a.m.3118 Fair enough. I gave my Mega to my friend last night and he was very pleased with it. He gave it a quick try out. He didn't have a Bluetooth speaker, and I even had to show him how to pair it to his phone.
