I recently got an Xsound Mega and with the new Tribit app working already on the mega , I can now customized the 10 band eq setting in the app so as upgrade the sound of the Mega. Actually, even just the Classical preset on the app is already an upgrade to the sound quality of the Mega from just the XBass setting. I love my Mega now with deep bass and clarity with sparkling highs. I think it is better now compared to the motion plus with the use of the eq app.
Thank you so much for the update.... I was storing it away and rarely used it and just ordered the motion plus yesterday. I'll cancel the order and tune the EQ. Thanks for saving my money.

Great video. I've had the Tribit Xsound Mega for a few days and I use it along with Boom, this equalizer app for the Mac OS. It definitely takes the sound to a different level.
There's one more thing I'm missing in reviews - latency through AUX for people who would like to use the device in low-latency requirement scenarios (playing a musical instrument, syncing with a video). You might assume that AUX should not have any latency because it's just a wire, right? Sadly, it's not true. The speakers that have built-in complex DSPs with equalizers and whatnot, can have a noticeable latency even through AUX, which makes them totally unusable for real-time playback. And I've seen exactly this kind of a complaint about some Tribit devices. So, I'm still in search of a budget 20-ish watt device with real-time AUX input and solid quality.
@@alanrossreviews Yeah, I discovered your channel only recently; so it will take some time to browse your large collection of reviews (thank you for that) and find out which models might work for me, also accounting for availability in my local East-European stores. @@alanrossreviews When will the video come? I can't wait, because my Motion+ sound like compressed after I update to that version. I really want to roll it back to the previous version, before you give custom EQ for version 39.39 😂
Soo, so we have discovered more good budget speakers. With options mifa wildbox, anker soundclre motion + and motion boom, tribit speakers, tronsmart speakers and many more. It is getting quite hard to get bad speakers for the price. Yet it is not so hard to choose speakers thanks to Alan's videos.
As 02-21-22, Tribit Xsound Mega is $95 and Motion+ is back to its retail price of $114 from Amazon Canada. Being a seasoned online amazon shopper, always buy electronics from companies that have good/great support in case something breaks during warranty period or if you get a DOA, and trust me on this, it happens. Anker is well known for its outstanding after sales support. I know some customers that were covered by Anker warranty even after 24 month failure where Anker warranty lasts 18 months.
@@alanrossreviews During my 1st Anker purchase, a few months ago, I purchased those overhyped Libery3 Pro's, which arrived in sealed and brand new package. Audio quality was so poor for its price and default sound signature was horrendous fo my trained ear, I made a big fuss complaining in a professional way, Next day I got contacted by Anker and was offered another L3Pro's to be sent to my home overnight. I knew didn't have a defective model and politely refused. L3Pro's are not bad per see, just grossly overpriced. For those in a TWS budget who don't care about ANC and just need the absolutely best audio quality for the buck, Soundpeats H1(Aptx, Aptx adaptive for $60), Sennheiser CW True wireless(Aptx for $99) and Edifier Neo Buds Pro(LDAC for $109) are much better options. IF money is not an object Sony WF-1000XM4 are still the ones to beat.
I was such the cheerleader for Tribit after their first few bluetooth speakers. Now, after this and the StormBox Pro, the pom-poms have been put away, sadly
I don't quite agree because the MSP still is a great sounding stereo speaker and still my favorite in this size and price range. I don't quite know what the guys were smoking while constructing and tuning the StormBox Pro. Such a relatively huge amp and downfire sub without deep bass and punch. Separation and details are great but voices and also some instruments sound pretty strange sometimes. Most curios: This setting works so well for outdoors! But indoors I don't quite know which mode sounds more wrong... Maybe they are planning a bigger and stronger MSP, I bet they do... 😉
Agree. The MSP is still a great budget speaker. Dare I say the best under $50. Tribit caught lightning in a bottle with that speaker and they know this. But with that said instead of building on that great speaker Tribit decides to come out with whack ass speakers like the StormBox Pro and XSound Mega.
@@waynedexter Mhm... I rather think their concept is 'different'. Most other companies improve their devices and release v2, v3 and so on. Tribit still is a small brand and I think their focus is to cover their product range with different devices for different application scenarios. You can see it on their TWS line. No improvement on single typ of devices but rather different types of devices. Their FlyBuds NC is completely crap, main thing they have any ANC InEar in stock.... Also their whole marketing is bumbling and flawed. They are young and have to learn. Just look back at their release of the XBoom. LG already used the same name so Tribit had to change it to XBoom. I don't know what sas wrong with that new name but they changed it again. Never see that on otjer companies. That's completely beginners mistake. Or look at their app. They released it with announcement that it just works with the new Mega. It doesn't work with the Mega until they release a new firmware for the Mega. Now you no longer find the Mega in the list of supported devices at the moment. Or look at how long they work on that "Blast" speaker. Its a copied Motion Boom and some other similar speakers the same type and Tribit want to release this thing with completely same look a year after all the others? Thats all crazy if you look at how long they are on the market (around 4 years) and act like rookies. But again, I just think they want to fill their product range to make sure there is something on it for everybody. And meanwhile they work on another HiFi ambitious speaker. At least I hope so... 😹 And keep in mind they have to stay budget league in price but also improve themselves and develop new stuff. Not that easy. Their support is great btw. 🙋🏻♂️ Sorry my english is not good
this is year one in economics sadly. larger product line offers more sales than improving a small range of speakers. look at wking, same thing, every week a new letter and number, none of them ever get improved and all have weird issues. but they know they just need some bass and volume and it will sell if priced right.
Works fine.. the EQ classical fix the over bass and refined the sound more clarity.. I own jbl charge 5, mifa wildbox and soundcore motion boom +... xsound mega wins easily. Its more fun with that bass..
@@alanrossreviews I see your point. I'm happy with mine. Although, I got an old model. There's a major delay when using the aux Input. I reached out to tribit and they've confirmed.
Motion + is still a better speaker here overall. The sweet spot volume-wise is at 50-70 %. By the way, Earfun will release a new speaker soon, Boom L, probably in the same weight class. Stereo with 2 passive elements, 28 W rms.
In addition I have increased the lower mids by a DB to balance the warmth so it can handle the upper bass and doesn't sound out of control and boomy...
I've heard critics about Motion+ that it has constant background hissing between songs, problems with Bluetooth connections to some devices, and also sometimes skips or delays a few seconds of a song when switching between songs. Also, it reportedly has rubberized outer shell that can get sticky or even disintegrate in a few years of active use.
I still like the Bose more though its kinda boomy and that's because it still has a more full-bodied sound unlike Tribit which already lacks balance in the mids and highs and is further subdued by the overpowering low bass.
SMP until 60% Vol. better for indoors. But I don't like all those EQ fooling and fumbling. Just one push at the Bass button and you have to set your custom EQ again via app. Sucks. Tribit Mega is better allrounder for me and sounds better for outdoors. Just turn on and lets go. But pity you can't pair two Mega in TWS but just in Party Mode. Have two of them and it sounds pretty impressive but not Stereo... Hopefully Tribit gives us a firmware update for App support... Tribit had not planed a bigger MSP with HiFi ambitions but just a handy and punchy fun speaker with not boring but also not annoying sound setting. I like it.

@@alanrossreviews does the mega or charge 5 remain a best buy in 1kg size category?
@@sahil.shivii well both depending on price
Have to admit, audio mode is not only useless, but it’s drastically out of sync when watching UA-cam videos.
Despite that , I bought the Tribit for these reasons : the lights, sound, and the convenience of a shoulder strap
every speaker is a trade off in some aspect or other.. 🤗
How does the Mega compare to the regular stormbox (tube shaped) ? Thanks!
the mega has way deeper bass
@@alanrossreviews Sir please do a review if you get the update. I think my Anker Soundcore Motion plus is now using only left driver. I hope you do an review after the update. Thank you

Please give me your opinion about Anker Soundcore Motion+ firmware update 39.39, and I need your best custom EQ. Thanks before
Video will be coming..... 👍
@@alanrossreviews When will the video come? I can't wait, because my Motion+ sound like compressed after I update to that version. I really want to roll it back to the previous version, before you give custom EQ for version 39.39 😂
@@AnggaHenriana I feel slightly deeper bass, but now it needs a different eq setting.
@@Federico_A Correctly, but it make me annoying. I hope Alan can help with his new eq 😅
Soo, so we have discovered more good budget speakers. With options mifa wildbox, anker soundclre motion + and motion boom, tribit speakers, tronsmart speakers and many more. It is getting quite hard to get bad speakers for the price. Yet it is not so hard to choose speakers thanks to Alan's videos.
tronsmart?? 🤭🤪🤪
@@alanrossreviews yes, tronsmart t6 max was quite a surprise for me. And from i have heard they released competitir for motion boom.
all the tronsmart i have tried i have personally found awful.
Tronsmart produces low quality speakers. Many bloggers and reviewers on UA-cam talked this about
@@artem7154 definitely 😂
As 02-21-22, Tribit Xsound Mega is $95 and Motion+ is back to its retail price of $114 from Amazon Canada. Being a seasoned online amazon shopper, always buy electronics from companies that have good/great support in case something breaks during warranty period or if you get a DOA, and trust me on this, it happens. Anker is well known for its outstanding after sales support. I know some customers that were covered by Anker warranty even after 24 month failure where Anker warranty lasts 18 months.
yes lots of good feedback on anker support
Sir, Please Tribit X Sound Mega Vs Soundcore Motion Boom...
motion boom wins
I was such the cheerleader for Tribit after their first few bluetooth speakers. Now, after this and the StormBox Pro, the pom-poms have been put away, sadly
well i dont think this is the calamity that we saw with the stormbox pro.....its fun enough.....
Sorry my english is not good
this is year one in economics sadly. larger product line offers more sales than improving a small range of speakers. look at wking, same thing, every week a new letter and number, none of them ever get improved and all have weird issues. but they know they just need some bass and volume and it will sell if priced right.
Are the mega now in the app developed?
Dont think it works
Works fine.. the EQ classical fix the over bass and refined the sound more clarity.. I own jbl charge 5, mifa wildbox and soundcore motion boom +... xsound mega wins easily. Its more fun with that bass..

My xsound mega has a major aux input delay. Is anybody else experiencing this issue
I’ll take deep bass and longer battery any day. I just bought the xsound mega and am a very happy camper
does the eq in the app work?
@@alanrossreviews it's not soundcore app quality but you can squeeze out some higher frequencies without sacrificing that sweet low-end bass

@@alanrossreviews A atualização foi por um tempo, então eles removeram. Havia muitos problemas com ela.
Qual a melhor entre as 2 ?
motion plus
@@alanrossreviews gosto da tribit qual indicação?
Motion + is still a better speaker here overall. The sweet spot volume-wise is at 50-70 %. By the way, Earfun will release a new speaker soon, Boom L, probably in the same weight class. Stereo with 2 passive elements, 28 W rms.
more budget options, cant be bad 👍
Mine sounds good even at 80% with a nice upper bass kick! I'm on 36.38 firmware and using Alan's old custom settings.
@@camelCased I own Motion + and it has none of the above-mentioned problems.
Great review, very detailed, it helped me make the decision to order a Tribit Xsound Mega. Btw your affiliate link for it has expired...
seems to work for me, which country are you in?
Thanks again for the reupload!
Could you please compare Mega to Bose Flex? 🙂
i will try down the road....
@@alanrossreviews No hurry, whatever you do I will watch.
I like it.
thanks for confirming no tws! show stopper!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭
@@alanrossreviews TWS on new Tribit StormBox Blast ? We'll see... 😀

Anker has a bit honkiness (mids dominant) that EQ cannot handles it. (sorry abt my english btw)
yeah theres only so much you can with eq and its volume dependant. its still a go to though, goes plenty loud enough without having to push the limits 🧐
your English is perfect, better than my Turkish for sure 😂
@@alanrossreviews Right...i tested planty of BT speakers last 8 years but i never wanted to have motion +. Loudness is not my criteria and i like fuller and warmer sound mostly. So Anker boost v2 is great for low level of sound. But your last advice was so cool, so when i compared them low to high, flex is so reliable and never fail.
