  • This is my two-week review of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300m 007 Edition. It's identical to the one Daniel Craig wears in the upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die. Is it the best Bond watch ever? Watch the video to find out!
    Huge shout out to Crown and Caliber for lending me this watch! Thanks!

    Great video, could not agree more. The watch is so comfortable and fits like a glove and it's not shiny and glossy like the standard 300m, which I was shocked by and turned off. This 007 version is on another level.

    Nice watch/great review, like your style and nice to see C&C giving you access, bravo to them and will give you lots more to review so good for us. Got a similar watch this week, though monochromatic version ie 300 Ceramic (case, dial, bezel insert, tang buckle) with some titanium (bezel base and crowns). For my 8 inch wrist, the 43.5mm case, 50 mm lug to lug watch is just supremely elegant and hyper comfy.

    I didn't realize the skeleton hands had such obvious striations - tbh it looks a bit unpolished. Otherwise, I agree that this is a cool watch, but it's quite rare so I haven't been able to try it at an AD, and a bit too expensive when considering other watches in the same price range.

    • @BrandonMenancio
      @BrandonMenancio  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for tuning in! I did notice that rotor sound! It don’t bother me though. New explorer at 36mm is a great move. I think it looks better at that size, hell I owned the 14270. The only problem is the 39mm looks better on my 7.25 inch wrist and sort of thicker forearms. But the 36mm version is better overall IMO. Proportions are better.

    What is the smallest circumference that the mesh bracelet could adjust to? I have a tiny 6.25" wrist, and often had to use the inner most pin hole. My concern is that if it doesn't fit, I can't add a pin hole to the titanium bracelet LOL

    • @BrandonMenancio
      @BrandonMenancio  3 роки тому

      hmm...I wish I could help, but I don't have the watch anymore. Sorry! I'm assuming it'd fit your wrist, but you'd have to double-check for yourself.

    • @taonguyen5174
      @taonguyen5174 3 роки тому

      I am just under 6.25" wrist size and was able to wear on the last pin hole. That said, they do offer a shorter bracelet option now. Also, watch B&J 's review where he discusses the large clasp and how it can make the bracelet bulge out. Love the watch and stronger considering it myself.

    I have the same gripe about the ceramic bezel on my SMP - it doesn’t have the satisfying springy sensation you’d like to feel. What were your thoughts in the comfort of the mesh bracelet - armhairs didn’t get caught too much?

    • @BrandonMenancio
      @BrandonMenancio  3 роки тому

      Oh, so it's a Seamaster thing!? I thought maybe the titanium case made the click feel a little off. Interesting! The mesh bracelet sometimes caught my hair when I put it on, but not after. It really like it. I wish Tudor or Rolex tried out a mesh bracelet. I guess I could try aftermarket, but I like it straight from the manufacturer.

    • @pbhatta542
      @pbhatta542 3 роки тому

      @@BrandonMenancio In my opinion (and verified on Omega Forums lol), it definitely seems to be a “Seamaster thing”! Breitling and IWC both make mesh bracelets - I haven’t tried either one of those yet, but IWC’s in particular looks promising. The aftermarket route hasn’t been favorable for me in strap swaps with mesh and I also prefer manufacturer straps unless it is a vintage that I can’t get the papers for anyway.

    It’s a cool watch but definitely overpriced. Being a made-for-film watch, it kind of reminds me of the Hamilton Khaki Murph from Interstellar, which is also more expensive than it needs to be. As another UA-camr put it, this is really more of a well-made prop/collector’s item than a serious watch. Also the broad arrow marking makes no sense even in the context of the film because Bond was wearing this watch when he was in retirement before rejoining MI6, so why would he have a government issued timepiece? Seems like just something to further jack up the price. Nonetheless, it’s still really cool and inspired me to put mesh straps on my own dive watches XD

    The sapphire glass which has domed shape is nice, however i always find the hands of the Seamaster a little cartoonish. I do much more prefer the old sword hands. The case material is nice and durable i can say it. Even tough i have a rolex submariner before this baby i wored Casio protrek for 10 years with titanium bracelet. and it look fantastic. The titanium ages really good. My dream watch is the combo of submariner durability and seamaster case shape.

    A) The Rolex Submariner is the original James Bond wristwatch. Ian Fleming, wrote in his novels that James Bond wears "a heavy Rolex Oyster Perpetual on an expanding metal bracelet”. It is also immortalized in the first Bond movies with Sean Connery (Dr No - From Russia With Love - Goldfinger - Thunderball) with George Lazenby (On her Majesty's Secret Service), with Roger Moore (Live and Let Die - The Man with the Golden Gun) and with Timothy Dalton (Licence to Kill) as the original and most iconic James Bond's wristwatch.
    B) The Rolex Submariner was introduced in 1953 and it is the first true diver's watch that surerceeded the depth rate of 100 meters (The Blancpain FF which was introduced the same year had a depth rate of only 91 meters). The Omega Seamaster diver was introduced 4 years later, in 1957!
    C) The Rolex Submariner (ref. 6538/A and the following ref. 5512) was chosen by Britain's MOD (Ministry of Defence) as the official watch for naval officers, SEALS and Special Forces (SAS and SBS) during the period 1956 - 1967. In 1967, MOD attempted to replace Rolex with the Omega Seamaster ref. 165.024. But due to problems with Omega's "naiad crown" which was leaking in shalow waters, in 1971 MOD made again the Rolex Submariner (ref. 5513/5517) it's official military watch.
    In conclusion: Omega Seamaster is undoughtably an excelent watch. But the Rolex Submariner has a) older and reacher history, b) better naval - military connection, c) is the original Bond watch (on the Fleming novels and on cinema) long before Omega. My Best Regards

      BS - first diver in the market was the Blancpain FF - everyone knows that Rolex learned from the FF to add a rotating bezel in their watches ….

    • @user-yk3rx7ok1i
      @user-yk3rx7ok1i 2 роки тому

      Both Rolex Submariner and Blancpain FF were introduced in 1953. May be the FF came on the market one or two months earlier. But it had a depth rate of only 91 meters. So the first true divers watch that surerceeded the depth rate of 100 meters was the Rolex Submariner. Also, no one can prove that Rolex "learned" the rotating bezel from Blancpain, just because the FF came on the market a month or two earlier... Regards

    This watch is really one of Omegas best. That is until you flip it over and see the childish Bond crap on the back instead of a handsomely presented coaxial movement. They need to stop this nonsense. This would only be acceptable if:
    1. Bond were actually a real secret agent and wore the watch while killing terrorists and saving the world or
    2. If the British secret service actually issues luxury Swiss watches like this one to their field personnel.
    Not because Omega pays absurd sums of money to have a brand sponsorship. If you ever wonder why pedestrian looking watches from Rolex are so successful you needn’t look any further than the back of this watch.
    The only thing more ridiculous than this is the IWC “Top Gun” collection. Ugh.

      @@BrandonMenancio yeah these things are starting to annoy me because this is a watch I really want to buy but can’t get over the lack of exhibition back and what they chose to put on it instead. I may still get one eventually. I just get sick of these ludicrous marketing partnerships they have with entities that don’t even make sense. I was in the military and I’m pretty sure they didn’t send us a catalog of $10k automatic Swiss watches to pick from. I don’t understand why they can’t let the watch just speak for itself.
