- @Chads_Taco and I hit the desert to go over everything he has done to his long travel 2nd gen tacoma, and it wouldn't be a proper video if we didn't bash on it afterwards.
The build includes parts from Dirt King Fabrication, King Shocks, Ultra Wheels, Toyo Tires, Baja Designs, Evil Fabrication, PRP, and so much more! - Авто та транспорт
Sic build on that Taco. My inner fenders are done. I am planning on removing them and replace it with tubing. Thanks for sharing.
That’s a nice truck! I like that it’s 2wd and I love it’s a 2nd gen. It gives me hope.
Yessir! Don’t ever think that you “need” 4wd to have a bad ass prerunner. With the right setup and depending on what you’re using it for, it won’t even matter.
@@desertdime well technically by definition a prerunner is a two-wheel drive with locking rear differential used to "pre-run" the track before they bust out the trophy trucks
amazing build working on building my 2nd gen with same kit. getting excited
Nice taco, just ordered that same kit for my 3rd gen should be ready around January 🤘
Long travel 3rd gens are bad ass! Not a lot of good ones out there right now. Shoot me a follow on IG, I’d love to keep up with your build
Nice set up!
Damn bro crazy taco.... bolt on kit
Harbor freight 12ton jack works on lifted tacos and (forcibly) fits in the stock jack location. I got a flat at work some time ago and felt stupid for not having a jack, lol. Best of all it’s $30.
Man for $30 it’s worth a try for sure! Thanks for the suggestion 🤙🏼
great truck but also nice job with this video. This was a way better walkaround than terra crew, you are a good interviewer and it helps that you actually know what you're talking about so you know what to film and what to ask. Keep this up dude this was refreshign to watch
I appreciate the love and support man! And thank you for reaching out to me on IG. It was great talking to you
Nice. I love my long travel Taco. I just wish we had a longer season were I live.
Where do you live?
@@desertdime I live in Michigan. Our dunes are only open April - October
@@4wheeltrips ohhh it's a mandated/regulated season
@@desertdime yes unfortunately but depending on the winter there would be to much snow anyhow..
Great video on the Tacoma. Regarding the prp seats can the factory seatbelt still clip in or is it harness seats only ? Thanks
If you still have the factory buckle in I’m sure you can still use the seat belt
what type BD lights do he have on his front bumper??
goals
I'd like to do something similar with my 2nd gen. Simple, ready to rip in the sand daily.
iam on east coast so building it to take on some deep back woods
Yo thats a badass build bro!! How long did it make to build this? Also, what was your first mod on ur truck?
I’m not the driver/builder of the truck, the time it took to build would be a question for chad who’s IG is on the thumbnail and in the video. If you’re asking for the first mod on the truck In the video, again that would be a question for him
Badass
How many inches of lift are in the front and the rear?
It’s a bit hard to calculate with everything considered, especially the 35’s, but about 3” in the front and 2” in the rear.
@@desertdime lol
what do the recovery points look like on a truck like this? more specifically on the rear.
Depending on how stuck he is and how much he trusts the hardware I suppose the fabricated bumpers can be the recovery points. You’d have to assume that since he’s a desert driven prerunner the only way he’d get suck really is in some sand/silt at worst so it shouldn’t be too hard to get out of even with traction boards. If he was getting stuck in say some mud then that’s where the concerns would come in
@@desertdime Okay thank you! I am planning out a build, obviously won't be to this point for years... but I appreciate the quick response.
@@garettjohnson2234 no problem man! Feel free to shoot me a dm on IG @desert.dime if you have any other questions
What got you 15” of travel in the front? Dirt king says it’s only 13.5?
That would be a question for the owner. I think his IG is still the same even tho he sold the Tacoma
Tie rods, Camburg spindles, inner fender smashed in lol
😮🔥
You should share in rally Libya challenge desert ; it's a big challenge in the world
Great job I am copying you rear kit. I have 2.5 king ext front with total chaos long travel
Sorry, scratch that last reply 😂 I thought I was replying to something else. Yeah his rear end is crazy! Hit up the owner if you have any questions.
What’s it like on the street after this ?
That’s a question for the man himself. I didn’t get to feel the on road ride.
Drives like a Cadillac
If only they sounded good lol
4.88s...my dad has his jeep thats purpose built for rock crawling is geared with 4.88s and it won’t run over 55. I get re-gearing for larger tires, but I wouldn’t go with 4.88s fr. Overall tho that build is BAD ASS!
Why wouldn't it go over 55..with 4:88? Something is wrong with that jeep then
tires are too small
@@MonkeySpecs301 his dad says built for rock crawling lol. Should be at least 35s then on 488. That would be good. Even 33s in 488
Your dad's a Jeep guy you should disown him. Or actually stick around and learn from all of his mistakes so you don't have to make them like buying Fiat
Cool so don't sell it!!!! Lol!!!
gentleman baby wipes works far far better than tp in thed field im a vtran walmart has a flushable baby wipes for adults they are in a blue and whit package
What if I like the rough, dry, sandpaper feeling of desert tp? 😈 Jk 😂 yeah baby wipes sound like a much better idea
@@desertdime hell yea bro its far better than dry ass tp trust me. i'm prior military we spend 45 days in the field my word is golden ask for them at walmart. they not in the baby section. they normaly by the personal care i dig ur rig i have a 2014 mine looks like the 2nd. gen body style damn one year later they went to the 3rd gen body style. i have a sport. i have a channel i'll se
Okay there’s no way I’m asking a Walmart employee where their ass wipes are. I’ll spend hours searching myself before I let one of them know what I’m buying those for 😂
Stop saying as well.... And you are actually misusing the term
u talk to much
You know you like it ;)
Hahah
