Don't know if you noticed, but the EX condition for this was to simply clear the stage. So next time you see that "EX Objectives: Clear Stage", you know you're in for a good time.
Objective Survive
While the Sinners definitely put up more of a fight than Ricardo expected, I will point out Foreman that the only reason you were making headway against Ricardo is because of the Test of the Big Brother debuff he inflicts on himself. Which is implied to be Ricardo quite literally just letting the Sinners wail on him for shits and giggles.
So really, the only two outcomes of the fight presently are "Sinners bore Ricardo by being too weak aka. not beating the DPS race, at which point he spams Hair Coupons to kill then" or "Sinners force Ricardo to take the fight seriously, at which point he immediately wipes the Sinners out."
Like, his attacks are literally just normal punches and kicks. He absolutely was just toying with the sinners for the majority of the fight XD.
Hair coupons?, Stolen
Tattoos?, Glowing
Defense skills?, all three of them.

There is a second win condition in the Ricardo fight if you can't meet the dps check, that being surviving a second round of the hair coupon attacks will cause the cutscene to trigger. And this is how I barely beat this fight after dozens of attempts.
Can't imagine the amount of Hair Coupon based trauma this man has inflicted on Limbus players, its a pretty cool attack though.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is one of the first times we've been able to *feel* the power scaling of The City. A Big Brother is high on the docket for a syndicate, but it isn't the very top, and the man played with and ultimately broke down all 12 sinners with very little trouble. The reason? Trivial to us, everything to him, which doubles down on how unfair the City can be when you can get killed at the drop of a hat for seemingly the most inane issue. As cool and as big the worldbuilding Library of Ruina was, it could never put you in that mindset intuitively. The Library always wins, from the get-go the first person you can use to fight is regulating their power and sweeps everything away without issue before everything opens up, keypages and EGO come in and skew it all even further, with the story focusing on the high concept and the Librarians who can never die. In Limbus, you're all decent, somewhat strong by certain standards. IDs are people that range from middling to high middling standing, EGO still skews the scaling slightly but not to the degree that it used to.
And you just get bodied. Without remorse, the moment he feels like getting serious, Game Over. No way out. Hell, he doesn't even need to get serious considering the fact that you can end the fight by just *surviving* the AoE. That feeling of powerlessness creeps up, and you start to reevaluate what you once knew.
Lobotomy Corp was a concept, Library of Ruina was a world, Limbus Company is the people living in that world, struggling with those concepts.
Excellent work, Executive Foreman! Second trying Ricardo? Absolutely amazing~ That absolute unit of a B.B. literally punched the Identity off of Ishmael in that cutscene. Not to mention he wasn't even flinching when losing coins in clashes, in fact, the Sinners were flinching back even when they were winning. To think Mr. Orlando Furioso absolutely solo'ed and nearly eradicated the southern portion of the Middle, goes to show how absolutely nuts he was, and how far below him we still are.
I was honestly expecting you to use NClair, but Liu Hong Lu definitely looked like they were pulling some weight early in the fight with his SP gaining Skill 1.
This really puts into perspective how strong the sinners really are. If we go by Finger rankings to gauge their strength, Ricardo (and Big Brothers/Sisters) should be within the realm of the Thumb's Capos (like Boris) considering Great Sisters/Brothers exists (which would be on the level of Sottocapos like Kalo). And remember, the the Thumb squads we fight in Ruina is a Star of the City level fight so Ricardo with his goons should either be High Urban Nightmare or Low Star of the City level threat, meaning that the Sinners sit comfortably in Urban Plague, with sometimes reaching low Urban Nightmare because of their egos and IDs. The fact that even in gameplay Ricardo is holding back (which is evident thanks to the "Test of the Big Brother" status effect), I'm not surprised the Sinners got washed that hard.
It also makes Roland's stated feats against the middle THAT MUCH more insane.

Yep. I'd say that W-Ryoshu is still overall better, especially against bosses, because she is just that broken, but maid Ryoshu is very good in regular encounters because of aoe.
@@blowbow5561 W Ryoshu is damn good with her skills and dodge scaling of charge making her very good vs bosses. CB Ryoshu got an AoE skill, Reusable 3rd skill, Poise & an evade which heals her SP which makes her quite versatile.

Butler Ryoshu is mainly much better in battles with multiple parts to hit or unfocused encounters but singletarget is still bettero n Wyoshu
Ricardo has an internal level (and thus, offense and defense level) of 60. so against a level 40 sinner with +2 offense level, he's getting +6 clash power, and doing 50% more damage.
this is not counting the offense level mod from his skills or the passive that gives him +5.
The two E.G.Os you boughts are really amazing.
But one thing that is important with them is uptie 4 give them both 3 weight AoE. Making them go from good to amazing. (Ryoshu also get double damage on burn team.)
It's also important to note that at the end of the fight Ricardo hit Ishmael so hard she returned to her normal ID.
When I got here my entire main team was weak to blunt and had like 0 blunt attacks. I think you can imagine how that one ended…
Anyways though, great work beating this lad, even though your team has that fatal damage effectiveness, half of them roll poorly, so managing to play around that with speed attack ordering and come out on top is quite impressive!

Naturally my team was unintentionally well specced for the occasion but it really has reinforced my love for the Liu IDs, they're such units, I'm a big fan

Hey foreman, it's nice to see you finally extract some E.G.O. Unfortunately, the next update is going to be Walpurgisnacht, so It would have been better to save those shards (Not that you need to, you can also try to extract them. If you still have any leftover shards, I would recommend getting Meurseult's regret as a priority due to it's larges coin power bonus for other skills.
Also, the new mirror dungeon is coming next update as well. This will include abnormalities from RR2 and RR3 being included, and it might be possible for you to encounter the Canto 5 abnormalities with this update as well (It is only a possibility though). If you would prefer, I could tell you which ones they are so you can avoid them,

When I said that you'd see a "Defeat" pop up at least once this Canto, this was what I meant. Had full faith you'd "win", but even a win's a defeat here.
That conversation with Faust near the end was most fascinating.
I was expecting Ishmael to bite off Heathcliff's head for almost killing everyone for some hair coupons but she showed restrain.
Or maybe she was satisfied seeing Ricardo do it for her.
1:10:10 Faust said to press the button the specific number of times, but she didn't say it properly (or Dante didn't heard her) so there was only "press...times", so there is a specific sequence to that in order to avoid accidental boom
1:11:29 man you really forgot when they told us that Dante has the golden bough in his head (when it was found out that it can prevent palification)
Nah I remember them telling us last time, there were 2 things that confused me:
1: They mention that Bough last time as if it was a thing we've always known, but I don't remember being told before then, maybe it was a Dante's Notes thing but it kinda came across as "btw, Dante has a bough in their head, no big deal"
2. Here, they say "Boughs", plural, is that supposed to imply that Dante has multiple Boughs in their head? Or that they carry them on their person? Or is Faust just saying that the charge is strong enough to destroy Boughs in general and Dante does just have 1?
Neither of these are particularly big deals but they confused me a little.

@@ryominto Somewhere is said that the Golden Boughs we collect are given to the After Team and them they are sincronized with Dante and Mephistoles somehow. So probably Faust is talking about the Golden bough kept in Dante's head and the ones we will take in the future.

You actually *can* 'kill' Ricardo through abusing burst damage via something like Sinking Deluge. He 'dies', but then just gets back up and its plays out as usual.
idk if you already knew this, but when a skill isn't clashing with and attack or an evade, the numbers displayed are the minimum/maximum damage the skill will do.
For example, at 36:08 you can see that ryoshu's Flame cleave would do between 12 and 29 damage, so if she failed at least 1 coin it wouldn't kill (which happened shortly after)

He's so out of this world with all this showiness and gold and purple leopard jacket... And still looks like a world ending threat. Insane.
Ah Foreman! I don't know if you knew this before but, the more offense level an enemy has, the more clash power they have. Ricardo has a ton of them which what makes him so lethal.
Really excellent work on Ricardo! I think I took him down second try as well! Also, nah, this is the hardest thing in Canto V. The Dungeon final boss used to be harder, but it got nerfed, and pretty severely. I always love to see someone excel at the fight like this.

Foreman did it with underleveled sinners while it took me like 6 attempts with everyone at 40
So for comparison with the big brother. Big brothers/big sisters are probably on par with a proxy of the index. Then theres great bb and great bs which is the next rank and we have seen one of them before with Tanya of the reverberation ensemble being a former great big sister, though distorted. Roland absolutely decimated half the middle south section during his rampage and seeing as we are in U corp ricardo is lucky to still be alive at this point. I love PM powerscaling.
My favorite thing is when I know I can kill a boss or stagger them is just making my slowest person (assuming we are faster than the enemy) clash and the rest of the team target the same slot so the enemy never gets to go.
Congrats on defeating the big brother, and unfortunaately this is the hardest fight in this canto. Bosses in dungeon got nerfed to the ground, you can actually winrate them now. So you definately won't have any problems with it.

I have brought burn ids in this fight, but since there was no liu ryoshu or liu rodya at that time, I brought Nclair and LCCB ryoshu due to her burn egos, it took me a lot retries to win.

Congratulations on your win against Ricardo Manager Esquire! I've heard tales of other Managers being stuck on him for weeks or even a whole MONTH so it's certainly no small feat!
Oh by the way... Ricardo is Lv80... And as you noticed most of his skills are literally just Punching and Kicking, they're not even Named Skills, he's literally not even close to trying for the majority of the fight and he's so strong that even when YOU win a clash YOU get knocked back instead of him, there was absolutely NO way to actually win this fight if it kept going and he started actually trying. This battle perfectly shows how COMPLETELY SCREWED we are if anyone even remotely high up in the City's hierarchy comes after us.
3:43 Maid Ryo is INCREDIBLY GOOD in Mirror Dungeons, with just one or two good Poise Gifts she can spam her 3AOE Skill 2 every single turn which just does insane damage with her Passive active, her Skill 3 also rolls up to a 23 at Uptie 4 with all conditionals which is really nice to have, but even without the incredible roll her Skill 3 also gives her 7 Poise Count which is enough to trigger her Skill 2 AOE conditional on its own, and even her Skill 1 rolls really good with a 14 at Uptie 4 with all conditionals, AND she has a 14 rolling Evade that both heals her own SP AND gives her Poise Count to fuel her S2 even easier.
I haven´t used her much outside of MD but she gains Poise Count easily enough to feed her conditionals very quickly even without E.G.O Gifts, especially if you give her BL Yi Sang's Support Passive or use BL Don for her S2 and S3 On-Crit Poise Count spreading.
All in all, Maid Ryo is an incredible ID and now my favorite ID in the game.
4:45 Ardor was easily one of the best E.G.O in the game at launch both for its 41 roll and the fact that it was by far the highest damaging E.G.O in the game, a title it kept for a long time thanks to it getting Attack Weight 3 at Threadspin 4, and it's also fantastic at spreading Burn both between multiple different enemies AND between multiple Parts of the same enemy (as far as i know) with the Passive.
And Ryo Fourth Match is also an incredibly high rolling E.G.O that can deal large amounts of damage with its Threadspin 4 conditional dealing up to +100% damage at Attack Weight 3 (though you do need 20 Burn for the +100% damage), though from what i know people mostly use it for its Corrosion effect as it give 3 attack power up next turn if it didn't kill any enemies which is VERY strong. I mostly use it because its super easy to fuel on a burn team, rolls very high, and give you a massive clashing bonus every 4 attacks. It was also the main Battle Pass E.G.O of Season 1.
43:36 Oh yes they are, this fight punishes you HARD if your IDs aren't all LV40 because of how Offense Level works: Each skill's Base Offense Level is equal to that IDs Level, then each individual Skill either has a Bonus from +1 to +5, or a minus between -1 to -5. Ricardo has +8 Offense Level on his Skills (From being LV80) which combined with his constant +5 Offense Level effects is +13 Offense Level on all of his attacks which (Because in a Clash Skills gain +1 Clash Power for every 3 Offense Level Difference) is equal to at minimum +2 Clash Power or way way more if the skill you're using has a low/negative Offense Level Bonus or the ID isn't LV40. This is why Ricardo always rolls so insanely high.

There are people that have defeated this encounter with just two sinners: Sloshing Ishmael and N-corp Sinclair. It's a whole cheese strategy, but it works, somehow.

Higher upties to Ryoshu give her several things
1 - more B.M (Butler Mark) application
2 - hits on targets with B.M give her poise count back, meaning her aoe skill refunds her poise count quite well
and, importantly
3 - The skill 3 gains an on kill effect - it gets reused against another target that has B.M. So, Onrush at home if you will.
Anyway, wanted to add a sorta meta-channel-related comment that you can feel free to ignore - I personally wouldn't mind if you waited and delayed the next video until after Walpurgis comes out, so you can shove Magic Bullet Outis into your comp before the Canto 5 dungeon, but obviously that's just me. Maybe make a comfy mirror dungeon run video or some sorta discussion, but that's obviously if you feel like waiting.
Secondly, I don't know when you record and when you edit videos, but your current schedule is a bit unfortunate for community's attention. We just got massive patchnotes which included new Mirror Dungeon info, Walpurgis info, and several extremely hype (and some long awaited) EGO and ID kit previews. The whole community is currently still discussing those as it's all very big and unique stuff. Your other weekly videos drop on Thursday, which is the maintenance + new content update day.
I may be wrong, and dropping videos on days when Limbus discussions are the most lively MIGHT actually be better for your views, but to me it seems like your current schedule clashes with actual Limbus content. Some of your previous videos have dropped while people have been finishing up Canto 6, and in my eyes that might lead to less total views overall? I don't know if that's at all important, but if it is, it might be best to avoid Monday and Thursday mornings. Wednesday and Saturday would probably be the *ideal* days if you don't want to clash with PM content updates.
Anyway, love the vids, keep em up.
Also - great EGO choices. 4th Match Flame is funny cause I use it the same way I used that EGO Page back in Ruina - not even caring about its burn, just about its absolutely ridiculous high roll. Same goes for Ardor Blossom, both get AoE at threadspin 4, turning them into intercontinental ballistic missiles.

I swear Ryoshu was part of some massive inside joke, it took her a full year to get a Burn ID after launching the game with two Burn EGOs. Her base, and 4th Match (a pre-register reward that people got for free, despite sadly not hitting the milestone). Same goes for Yi Sang to a lesser degree, who still has yet to get a Burn ID despite PM teasing one and launching with his own 4th Match (which gets meme’d on for being one of the… worse EGO we’ve gotten overall).

Damn good job with Ricardo too! Has one of my favorite boss tracks in the whole game too honestly. One of the coolest characters in the game so far as well.
